I'm Pete and I took this video right before we started to take this show down. Ellarslie Mansion is just one of Trenton's treasurs. After 82 years, the city of Trenton decided to knock down rather than restore the once majestic looking Trenton Central High School, a school that was once thought of as a landmark for the city. The demolition left members of the Trenton Historical Society, like Karl Flesch, disappointed because they felt the school could be modernized without being completely torn down and with it the history of such a grand building in the process.
As a way to remember the school, built during The Great Depression, Flesch felt an exhibit at the Trenton City Museum would be the right way to highlight this history. Co-curating the exhibit for Ellarslie Mansion, which is home to the Trenton City Museum, he was able to uncover artifacts not looked at in over 50-years.. He was able to break open a cornerstone laid in 1929 that, much to his surprise, contained a newspaper from the next year. Through his exploration Flesch discovered unique and timeless artifacts of the high school that are now able to be preserved past the exhibits run at the museum.
The exhibit, “Trenton Central High School: A Remembrance,” ran from November 1, 2014 to May 2, 2015 and garnered attention from the surrounding community. Alumni, young and old, came to walk down memory lane before the artifacts would go into storage for future museum exhibits or or to be saved and put into the new high school when it is built.

Housed in the historic Ellarslie mansion, the Trenton City Museum museum are celebrating their 40 year anniversary in 2018. The Museum provides access to a large and important collection pertaining to the industrial, cultural, political and civic history of the City of Trenton. Curator & Trenton Museum Society member Carolyn Stetson is showcasing the works on display for us today, and giving us a history of the museum, as well as it's many ties to the city.

Trenton Museum Society - The Trenton Downtowner/Skydog Media Interview
The Trenton Museum Society owns the permanent collection of art and historical valuables on display and in storage at the Ellarslie Mansion, the Trenton City Museum in Cadwalader Park.
On January 7, 2012, Trenton Downtowner Community Editor Jim Carlucci sat with the Society's Chair, Bob Cunningham, and Board Member Carolyn Stetson to talk about current events at the Museum. Ellarslie has been affected by the financial crisis the rest of the City has been experiencing, losing its full-time Director with the last wave of layoffs; as well as being forced to cancel several planned shows and events, and losing major pieces in its collection back to their owner museums.

Tom Malloy, Painter of Trenton
In 1996, State of the Arts visited Tom Malloy (1912-2008), an artist who chronicled the city of Trenton. Named Trenton's artist laureate in 2001, Tom was a founding member of the Trenton Artists Workshop Association and a leader in establishing the Trenton City Museum in Ellarslie Mansion.
Tom Malloy was born in Dillon, S.C., but moved north to Trenton with his family. Over the years, he worked for the Trenton Folding Box Co. and served as a lay minister at Cadwalader Asbury United Methodist Church. But he was best known for his artwork, which he began with watercolors of the city in the mid-1950s.

Trenton is the capital city of the U.S. state of New Jersey and the county seat of Mercer County. It was briefly the capital of the United States. The city's metropolitan area is grouped with the New York metropolitan area by the United States Census Bureau, but directly borders the Philadelphia metropolitan area and is part of the Philadelphia Combined Statistical Area and the Federal Communications Commission's Philadelphia Designated Market Area. As of the 2010 United States Census, Trenton had a population of 84,913, making it the state's 10th-most-populous municipality. The Census Bureau estimated that the city's population was 84,034 in 2014.Trenton dates back at least to June 3, 1719, when mention was made of a constable being appointed for Trenton, while the area was still part of Hunterdon County. Boundaries were recorded for Trenton Township as of March 2, 1720, a courthouse and jail were constructed in Trenton around 1720 and the Freeholders of Hunterdon County met annually in Trenton. Trenton became New Jersey's capital as of November 25, 1790, and the City of Trenton was formed within Trenton Township on November 13, 1792. Trenton Township was incorporated as one of New Jersey's initial group of 104 townships by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 21, 1798. On February 22, 1834, portions of Trenton Township were taken to form Ewing Township. The remaining portion of Trenton Township was absorbed by the City of Trenton on April 10, 1837. A series of annexations took place over a 50-year period, with the city absorbing South Trenton borough (April 14, 1851), portions of Nottingham Township (April 14, 1856), both the Borough of Chambersburg Township and Millham Township (both on March 30, 1888), as well as Wilbur Borough (February 28, 1898). Portions of Ewing Township and Hamilton Township were annexed to Trenton on March 23, 1900.

During a busy weekend in Trenton area on the weekend of June 16, 2012
There has been a number of reports of customers getting sick from food poisoned food the weekend June 15 through June 17, 2012. Responses from the restaurant management was they will do nothing. They are not responsible everything you ate in the last 48 hours.
If you don't want to risk being violently sick vomiting all night because of the food at Settimo Cielo. The management does not even care.
Per management, customers getting sick is happening but Settimo Cielo is not responsible unless the customer can prove they fasted for 48 hours before there meal they vomited up at Settimo Cielo.
If you too were also sick or felt sick after eating Settimo Cielo.

I am a Mexican artist born in Oaxaca, Mexico. I immigrated to the United States at an early age looking to improve my abilities in painting. I am the last child of seven in the family. I started studying art in Hightstown High School soon after I learned English as my second language.
My goal after finishing High School was to keep pursuing my dream of becoming an artist.
In 2010 I graduated in Management from Mercer County Community College.
Now, I am focus on finishing my career in Fine arts. I'm currently enrolled in MCCC surrounded by very bright artists such as Mel Leipzig and Kyle Stevenson.
My grandmother who was like a mother to me, died right after I came to the US; she was a very important person in my life. I lived with her since I was a little girl. She always encouraged me to the arts. She used to call me La Pintora...
I paint my culture because it is beautiful and full of vibrant colors; It is unique...
There is nothing more pleasant to me than painting my culture, my colors, and my people.
