Richmond History Tours Explore Hollywood Cemetery
Learn about the cemetery's history, artwork, symbolism and famous residents, including two U.S. Presidents, writer Ellen Glasgow, Confederate President Jefferson Davis and Generals George Pickett and J.E.B. Stuart. Meet at the rear of the stone structure on the left at the cemetery entrance, at Cherry and Albemarle streets.

RICHMOND CITY HALL 1949
A brief look inside Richmond City Hall, Richmond, Calif. in 1949. Located at 2555 Nevin Avenue, the building would be torn down in 1950 to make room for the Richmond Auditorium which was part of the new Civic Center. A newer more modern City Hall opened in the Civic Center complex in September 1949.
Renovations at former State Capital Museum
Lord Mansion, which housed the State Capital Museum for more than 70 years, is getting a makeover, with new paint, carpets and refinished floors. Basilisa Lumanlan Lascano was born on the 9th day of January 1924 in Pampanga, Philippines. The daughter of Regina & Euleterio Lumanlan, she had five brothers and three sisters. She was the 3rd of nine siblings. Sisang as she was fondly known to her friends & family, grew up in Porac, Pampanga. She later moved to Manila. She worked as a cashier at a commissary in Clark Air Base where she met her husband, Jose Lascano. Jose was part of the United States Military. Sisang wed Jose in 1947, with whom she had nine beautiful children with. Sisang was a good entrepreneur. She owned a wooden hanger and dry goods business. In 1991, Sisang migrated to the United States of America. She spent most of her senior years at the Redwood Shores in Vallejo, California, where she attended bible studies with friends every week.

Virginia Union student goes from formerly homeless to grad school at MIT
Chemistry major Corshai Williams never dreamed of attending Virginia Union University. Corshai, 21, is the first in her family to go to college.
When she was just 17 and a senior in high school, she found herself homeless on the tough streets of Baltimore, but Corshai did not let it deter her. In fact, the challenges only made her stronger.

Police officer SHOT during gunfight with suspect
Footage from a police helicopter shows a shootout between Texas State Troopers and a suspect in San Antonio, Texas, on Sunday, February 18.
The footage released by the Texas Department of Public Safety shows a trooper being shot in the arm by Ernest Manuel Montelongo, who resisted arrest and fled after being stopped for a traffic violation. Montelongo was then fatally shot by another Trooper.
The Texas State Troopers Association said that the suspect “emerged from his vehicle, produced a gun and forced the trooper to exchange gunfire with him.”
Local media reported that authorities said Montelongo was brought to Brooke Army Medical Centre and was pronounced dead a day later. A spokesman for the DPS said the Trooper was “doing well.”
