Ep 16 - RVing Grand Teton National Park 2019: Taggart Lake Trail
The third episode of our RV trip to Grand Teton National Park. We woke up late to dreary skies, pouring rain, and even a little bit of snow. We drove around for a bit and got lucky with a perfect hiking window allowing us to experience the beauty of Taggart Lake. Later I caught a glimpse of the elusive river otter!
This vlog gives you a pretty insightful look into our family's personalities. We are spunky and sarcastic, but mostly we just have a lot of fun in our own ways.

A HIke in the Woods near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania - March 18, 2010
An outing in the Pennsylvania Game Lands near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania with my brother. Including a post-hike stop at Bass Pro Shop and some musing and reflections by Steve. We saw three Turkeys running for cover and enjoyed a relaxing day wandering around the woods in the warm spring sun.
Biking across America! Week Nine
Biking across the United States along the famed TransAmerica Bike Route. The route, established in 1976, crosses the United States from (depending upon which direction you travel) Virginia to Oregon.
During the ninth week we continue heading northwest through Wyoming into Grand Tetons National Park. We spend 4th of July in Jackson and take in a float trip along the Snake River for a rest day. Then through Yellowstone Park and another rest day in West Yellowstone, Montana. We're heading to fly fishing country now.

Sublette County Wyoming
VISIT BRIDGER VIDEO PRODUCTION COMPANY at
Sublette County is Wyoming’s sixth largest county, located in the western part of the state and covering approximately 3.2 million acres. Which means it was easy for a Jackson Hole video production company like us to find stunning places to shoot in this amazing locale—especially by drone. With this video shoot, we wanted to convey that 80 percent the land in this county is public, highlighted by The Wind River Range running north to south along the eastern portion of the county and the Gros Ventre Wilderness which lies to the north. The Salt River and Wyoming ranges run along the western side and there are more than 1,300 lakes. How could we show the sweeping natural beauty of a county and town as magnificent as Sublette and Pinedale? By overlaying informative voice-over and inspirational music over numerous beauty shots of the land visitors will find here.
What interests visitors most about vacationing in Sublette County? Here are some of the highlights of this exciting location that we chose to focus this video on:

Ooops! I Caught a Muskrat Fly Fishing!
I was fly fishing for trout in New Mexico's San Juan River when I thought I had hooked a brown trout. It was brown all right, it just wasn't a trout. Unfortunately, I had snagged a muskrat that was swimming downstream. I managed to get him close enough without getting bitten or freaking it out too badly, that I was able to cut the line right close to where the hook had caught his hind foot. It was probably a barbless hook, but I wasn't fishing the quality waters, so it's possible it had a barb. However, it was a small fly, so, it should eventually come out. Hopefully, the muskrat will be fine in the long run. Make sure and subscribe if you would like to follow along with Terri, George(me) & Gizzy on our adventures as we wander the country living full time in our red, 2002 Newmar Dutch Star, diesel pusher RV. I swear, we have to be the only people in a red class A motorhome.
You can also follow our blog at jumingoffthecliff.com or on facebook via facebook.com/jumpingoffthecliff. We started this adventure in the Summer of 2016.
While our channel is based on living full time in an RV, our subject matter wanders a little like we do;)
Anyway, I hope you will join us as we wander about. Thanks for watching, subscribing, commenting, etc.

Cowboy Country Cody (Beartooth Mountains Wyoming)
This is an area of Wyoming that is steeped in Cowboy History with Wild Bill Cody establishing the township in the 1900's, there is a state park and dam named after him too.
We did a little business in town, tried our hand at fly fishing, but were not successful, and toured the Bear Tooth Mountains a couple of times to see the spectacular roads and sweeping views.
There is a William Cody museum in town and a year round rodeo at the park, we preferred the outdoors but have been told both are excellent.
Cody is a lovely township, very western cowboy style, but also a dash of boutique and coffee shops and restaurants - which is lovely.
A lot of history in the area.

The Wind River Range Backpacking - Sept 2012 (Part 1of2)
5 friends from Seattle share 11 nights in the Winds. We started at Elkheart and headed for Titcomb Basin via Pole Creek Lakes, Cook Lakes, Wall Lake and Wall-Island Pass. We hired a horse packer to resupply us at the trail junction for Indian Basin & Titcomb Basin. A night at Island Lake then off to Elbow Lake, Summit Lake for 2 nights, Palmer Lake and our last night in New Fork Park. This Trip allowed for 3 of the other hikers to do an additional 20+ miles on side trips and goals. If you're ever asked to go to the Winds, Smile, Say YES and Thank You!

Campgrounds listed in this video are:
Onondaga Cave State Park, Missouri: Onondaga Cave State Park campground offers basic and electric/water campsites and a special-use camping area. For a little extra space, try one of the park's family campsites.
The campground also contains a playground and an amphitheater. Camping supplies are available at the park store.

The Illini Campground has 328 Class A campsites with 30 and 50 amp electrical hook-ups, 36 Class C campsites for walk-in tent camping and two rustic rent-a-cabins. A campground store and public swimming pool are located at the campground.
Giant City State Park: Giant City is a popular weekend retreat because of its varied and well-kept campground facilities. There are 85 campsites in the Class A Campground which provides water, electricity, showers and sanitary facilities for tent and trailer camping. A separate Class A equestrian campground is located off the horse trail in the southwest corner of the park. A Class C camping area is located at the south end of the campground and offers 14 walking sites, for those who prefer a more primitive setting. Outdoor privies, fire rings and access to showers are provided. The trailhead to the Red Cedar trail is located nearby for those who wish to hike 6 miles to the primitive Red Cedar Campsite. Pre-registration is required at the Visitor Center or with the camp host.

Finding Good Crappie Fishing Spots
Jason made a point in the fall and winter to look for new crappie fishing spots with his electronics. He started in some productive arms of the lake and idled along break lines looking for brush piles with fish.
These creek channel edges are often where fishermen like to drop their brush piles. So Jason scanned with Lowrance HDS 3D Structure Scan for likely looking spots and brush piles until he found schools of crappie holding on them.
Once he saw a good school of fish on a brush pile, he stopped and fished it. He would cast a jig over the top, when they quit biting that, he would pitch to the piles from a closer distance, and finally he would get right on top of them and fish vertically on the pile.
He had one of the best fall/winter periods for crappie fishing in recent years by getting out and hunting for fish more with his electronics.

Ep. 109: Island Park | Idaho RV travel camping
The area of southeastern Idaho known as Island Park is mostly a large crater, or caldera, named the Henry's Fork Caldera that was created by the same volcanic hotspot that created the later and much larger Yellowstone Caldera nearby. For the July 4th Independence Day holiday we find a boondocking camp right on the water at Island Park Reservoir for a little kayaking and camping with friends, while visiting Mesa Falls and Harriman State Park in this little town with a very unique history, just 25 minutes from Yellowstone National Park.
Filmed: July 1-6, 2019.
