Tully Blanchard talks AEW, Shawn Spears, Canada, Football, Miami, Dusty, Cody, Golf, Tessa
Interview with pro wrestling legend Tully Blanchard of the new action-packed brand All Elite Wrestling.
Blanchard, 65, of San Antonio is the manager/adviser of The Chairman of AEW Shawn Spears, i.e. WWE alum Perfect 10 Tye Dillinger.
A former football player at SMU and West Texas State, Blanchard's NFL aspirations ended because of injury. He then went into the family business -- professional wrestling -- and made quite a name for himself, especially as an integral member of the famous, lucrative and successful faction The Four Horsemen.
After a long hiatus from the profession, he signed in July with AEW, aligning himself with a solid group of established talent, known workers, up-n-comers and other legends, including his Four Horseman and Brain Buster partner Arn Anderson.
Debuting in 1975, Tully recalls wrestling on Wednesdays in his early days for Championship Wrestling from Florida at the Miami Beach Convention Center. He will be returning to South Florida, when AEW makes its Miami debut on a Wednesday, Jan. 15 for AEW Dynamite on TNT from the Watsco Center at the University of Miami in Coral Gables.
Tickets are on sale at AEWTIX.com.
A few days later. the Chris Jericho Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager at Sea cruise sails round-trip from Miami to Nassau, Bahamas.
High-octane bouts with the biggest names from AEW will be filmed from Jericho’s sold-out Norwegian Pearl ship, including the Jan. 22 episode of AEW Dynamite on TNT.
The history-making event will be bubbling with exclusive opportunities to meet AEW’s star-studded roster, as well as non-stop wrestling, rock ‘n’ roll, live podcasts, paranormal explorations, talent-hosted activities, autograph sessions, parties and more.
Visit chrisjerichocruise.com.
Tully's father, Joe, wrestled and was a successful promoter. Tully's daughter, Tessa, is a young standout wrestler, starring for Impact Wrestling and WOW-Women of Wrestling to name a few.
Back in the day, Tully had a tremendous feud with the American Dream Dusty Rhodes, a CWF staple. Part of that feud, Tully wrestled for the NWA for War Games in 1987 at the Orange Bowl in Miami.
Cody Rhodes, Dusty's son, wrestles for and is the executive vice president of AEW.

5'6 Chris Lykes Episode 2! Heart Over Height! NBA POTENTIAL!
S/O to Ryan Michael from ThePatientChase :
CORAL GABLES, Fla. —There is always some wait. The days-long wait between games, when fans itch to see him play again. The minutes-long wait for him to come off the bench, when the action slows and starts to beg for his speed and energy. The moments-long wait after he catches the ball on the wing, when he peers into the defense and it seems like there is not a single thing 5-foot-7 Chris Lykes cannot do on a basketball court.
“Where is he?” asked University of Miami junior Valeria Velasco at the mention of Lykes’s name. She whipped her head around to see an empty court at the center of the dense Watsco Center in Coral Gables, Fla.
Lykes, a Mitchellville, Md., native and freshman guard for the Hurricanes, was nowhere to be found. A late January matchup with Louisville was still an hour and a half away, which meant the students had to wait just a bit longer to see Lykes, who is finishing his first college season and is already one of the ACC’s most exciting, and likable, players.
