LONDON VLOG - DAY 4 (WESTMINSTER ABBEY, FISH & CHIPS, THE SHARD, GORDON'S WINE BAR) | 10-01-2019
Hey Everyone!! Join us in Day 4 of our London Vlog where you will join us in further exploring this stunning city!
We start our day in Whitstable where we catch a train into London Victoria train station, the very starting point of our adventures ahead. You'll then walk with us to Buckingham Palace where you'll get a quick glimpse of one of London's most popular tourist attractions.
You'll then join us as we walk past St James's park toward Westminster Abbey, before discovering Westminster Arms where we had fish & chips!! My first fish and chips in London :-)
I highly recommend visiting Westminster Arms if you are ever in the Buckingham Palace / Westminster Abbey area. The downstairs wine bar is really cozy and you'll love it :-) I'm not a wine drinker but I would definitely go back there for fish & chips and a red wine :-)
We continue on to Westminster Abbey, then to the Big Ben (the Elizabeth Tower). We struggled to find Big Ben at first (we even asked the police officer that pointed us in the opposite direction of
its actual location!) We had to get Google images of it so we could find nearby landmarks. It wasn't until we compared photos on our phone to the position of the fence that we noticed that Big Ben was covered in scaffolding! Only one clock face is visible!
We caught the Tube so we could arrive at The Shard at our booked time slot of 4 pm. Beforehand, we walked around the London Bridge.
We had coffee and red velvet cake at Ground Cafe (The Shard). That red velvet cake was incredible!! The Shard was also a great way to see all of the big attractions from a different perspective.
Afterwards, we ended our huge day of exploration at Gordon's Wine Bar- London's oldest wine bar. I was really blown away by the experience and highly recommend checking it out if you are ever visiting London. It was a very unique experience!
If you are planning a trip to London, let me know in the comments :-)
Have an awesome day!

BBC High Flyers How Britain Took to the Air
Someone Found This On Google Maps. You Won’t Believe What It Is. OMG !
Story Source :
There’s a small fishing village called Whitstable off the coast of Kent in Southeastern England. It’s a town known for its delicious oysters, which have been collected in the area since at least the Roman times. It is a very popular tourist town and the tourism is about to explode now that these images of a giant crab sighting have surfaced. Many people say that it is a giant crab with a diameter of at least 50′ while others speculate that it’s just an oddly shaped sand bar and some sunken driftwood.

Cycling Day 1 - London (Islington Tunnel) to Gravesend
We took a cab to our starting point on the St. Regis Canal - The Islington Tunnel.
Riding along the canal was very picturesque and, I thought, very beautiful. Loved seeing all of the Canal boats and the swans were an added bonus. We came out in the Docklands, Canary Wharf area and our directional signage disappeared. Through fits and starts we finally made it to the Greenwich Foot Tunnel. The lift down was out of order so we had to go down about 3 or 4 flights of stairs with our bikes. Thankfully the lift was working on the up side. A brief stop for tea and coffee and we were on our way.
Riding along that portion of the Thames became rather industrial. Not sure why, but there was a detour around the O2 Stadium, so we missed that.
A little further along we came to the Crossness Pumping Station. If my memory serves me right, the foulest portion of the trip so far. Imagine ALL of London's sewage being treated at this ONE place. Wished I had a gas mask!
Fortunately the next part of the trip took us through the Dartford Marshes. THAT was incredibly pleasant.
Our first day along England's Route One was very pleasant and we capped off the end of our ride with some wine and crisps before having dinner at our hotel - The Granby - in Gravesend, UK.
The Granby Hotel was a wonderful little oasis with very clean rooms, incredibly nice staff and wonderful food. I would highly recommend a visit. You would not be disappointed.
First day stats - Rode 54 km, 4.5 hours riding time.

Hylands Park
Hylands Estate
Hylands Park is situated in the City of Chelmsford, Essex. The Park has 3 separate parts to it, each with their own specific history. These are:-
Hylands Estate
The house at Hylands was built in 1730. It was built on an estate of 100 acres of parkland and 300 acres of farmland. Since then, there have been numerous owners of the whole estate who have extended it. At its largest, in the mid 1800’s, the estate comprised of some 4,300 acres. At this time the estate was divided and sold on individually with one the lots containing Hylands House. Following the death of Mrs Christine Hanburys (who owned Hylands Estate from 1922 – 1964), the House and Estate were purchased by Chelmsford Borough Council who opened it to the public.
2. Hylands House
Built in 1730 the house was originally a red brick Queen Anne style house. As can be seen in the video, the house is now white in appearance. Its appearance was changed with the current facade in the early 1800’s (although the original red brick building still exists under the facade). The house is a now listed as a grade II* listed neo-classical Georgian villa. It is set in 574 acres of parkland. Whilst owned by its final private owner In 1964, there was a fire in the West Wing and the House became a partial ruin. In 1986, Chelmsford Borough Council began a restoration programme of the House and the final phase of this was completed in 2007.
3. The Stables
The Estate also comprises of a Stable Block which is now a cafe and shop area, as can be seen in the video. The building of this was commissioned by Pierre Labouchere (1818 – 1839). Like the original main house it was built of red brick. The block housed servants and loft rooms on the first floor, with stables, carriage and tack rooms on the ground floor along with the coachman’s cottage. When motor cars arrived on the scene, the stables were also used for garaging vehicles. Around 1825 John Richmond, a well-known clock maker in Springfield, Chelmsford, installed the clock into the Clock Tower. The stables have been in constant use, being an important part of the estate.
Hylands House and Estate are now used extensively as a community venue for the people of Chelmsford and beyond. Not only is it a great place for a day out, It also hosts a vast selection of community events, weddings, exhibitions, craft fairs, concerts etc.. It is very much part of the City of Chelmsford and as I say in the video is a great asset and credit to Chelmsford and its population.

Micky draws on his East End background with razor sharp observational wit as he ruthlessly deconstructs the Cockney Myth . He tells a comic tale of a working class upbringing, where alphabetti spaghetti is a luxury. Micky has come a long way since then, thanks to a university education he is now a rare delight -- an intellectual cockney.

A sneak peek at Chewton Glen treehouse
You might have to sell your liver but by God it's worth it to get a spot at this Hampshire hotel hotspot. Here, have a quick look around on me!
For Sale: 3834 Faversham, University Heights OH
Classic architecture includes built-ins, hardwood floors, arched doorways, and 2 fireplaces. Every window is new and great at conserving energy! Updated kitchen, including full-overlay maple cabinets, Pergo floors, and bright eat-in breakfast nook. All appliances stay, including brand new fridge. We remodeled and extended the full bath on second floor (large shower/tub, double vanity, new tile)! The newly-carpeted lower level rec room has a gas fireplace and large glass block windows. It's awesome to go down there and get away from the family chaos upstairs (man cave!). The third floor is like a hotel suite with its own large bedroom and full bath. Out of town guests and overnight visitors can just unpack up there and have their own private space. The 2-car garage has been re-built and has tons of shelf and lofted storage so you don't have to jam all your stuff in the basement.
If that's not enough, this has got to be the most social block in UH. Neighbors hang out up front and have a beer or two in the front yard, we close the street a couple times/summer for block parties, people walk up to Whole Foods once/week for the wine tasting nights, there are progressive dinners, drive-in movie nights for kids...all just because the people are good-natured and want to have a fun! You can't get this on just any block in UH. It's happening here on Faversham. (We even have our own Facebook group page!)
