The Woodlands Town Center Trolleys | The Woodlands, TX
Employees, residents and visitors can park once and hop aboard the FREE trolley to popular retail, entertainment, and office locations. The trolleys provide transit service along an approximate 4.1-mile route connecting The Woodlands Mall, Market Street, Town Center, The Woodlands Waterway and Hughes Landing restaurants, hotels, businesses and residences.
Four trolleys operate seven days a week and circulate approximately every 10 minutes during peak operating hours around retail and office locations throughout the Town Center area. During off-peak operations (2 to 5 p.m. daily and 2 to 6:00 p.m. on Sundays), three vehicles are in continuous operation.

The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival 2019
Thousands of art lovers descended upon The Woodlands Town Green Park and Waterway Square on Saturday and Sunday, April 13-14, for the 14th annual The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival.
The festival, put on by The Woodlands Arts Council and sponsored in part by The Woodlands Township, featured more than 200 artists — all selected via a rigorous juried judging process — from across both Texas and the United States.
In addition to all the artwork on display, there were four stages with live music, dozens of food vendors and the new cultural exhibit, Spotlight on Mexico, which featured a village-like area with live music, food samples from Mexico, a tequila bar by Don Julio and other attractions.

The 21,000-square-foot permanent multipurpose facility features ice skating in a main room with lighting, a state-of-the-art sound system, tables for parties and concessions.

The Woodlands is a master planned community and census-designated place (CDP) in the U.S. state of Texas in the Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land metropolitan area. It is primarily located in Montgomery County, with portions extending into Harris County. As of the 2010 census, the CDP population was 93,847,[3] up from 55,649 at the 2000 census.[6] In 2018 The Howard Hughes Corporation estimated the population to be 116,278.[7]
The Woodlands is 28 miles (45 km) north of Houston along Interstate 45. Though it began as an exurban development and a bedroom community, it has also attracted corporations and has several corporate campuses, most notably Chevron Phillips Chemical, Anadarko Petroleum, Huntsman Corporation, Woodforest National Bank, Baker Hughes, Chicago Bridge & Iron Company, McKesson Corporation, Aon plc, Maersk Line, Safmarine, ExxonMobil, Halliburton, and Southwestern Energy. It won a Special Award for Excellence in 1994 from the Urban Land Institute
The Woodlands was conceived after the oil industry investor George P. Mitchell attended a symposium by the Rouse Company subsidiary American City Corporation on how to develop HUD financed Title VII towns like Columbia, Maryland.[9] It was dedicated by George P. Mitchell in 1974 and managed by The Woodlands Corporation as an extension of Mitchell Energy & Development.[10] Mitchell, an oil businessman, planned to establish a conference center, hotels, office parks, retail malls, schools, large distribution centers, and golf courses. Houses would range from affordable to expensive and large. Bill Schadewald of the Houston Business Journal said that Mitchell wanted the development to entice city slickers looking for far-flung suburban quality of life.[11] Schadewald said that local sources stated that the HUD New Town program, a federally funded program, had a low survival rate and questioned whether The Woodlands would succeed

Texas TreeVentures is a challenge by choice aerial adventure course located in The Woodlands, Texas on the campus of the Recreation Center at Rob Fleming Park. The course is directly adjacent to the expansive 1,800 acres of the George Mitchell Nature Preserve, which is home to abundant wildlife, several miles of wooded trails, and Spring Creek. The Texas TreeVentures course is a series of physical challenges and adventure-based elements designed for youth and adults (age and weight restrictions apply). The three-level aerial adventure course tests you in a fun environment with 72 challenging elements and is the perfect place to take your family and friends as well as push yourself to new heights!
Texas TreeVentures is owned and operated by The Woodlands Township, a political subdivision of the State of Texas. The course is built to the standards of the ACCT (Association of Challenge Course Technology) specifications, among the most stringent ropes course safety standards in the world. Every element of the Park is inspected daily and is re-certified to ACCT specifications every year. The Township’s Parks and Recreation Department operates the adventure course with ACCT trained staff.
