Dit is een kleine impressie van mijn bezoek in #Gent aan het Huis van Alijn. In het Huis van Alijn ontmoet u vast iets wat u nog kent uit de vroegere tijd. Het Huis van Alijn legt gewoontes, tradities en rituelen bloot die herinneren aan een recent of verder verleden en toont dat alledaags allerminst gewoon is. Het museum ligt in het historisch centrum van Gent, vlakbij het Gravensteen op de Kraanlei 65 . Ontvlucht tijdens je citytrip in Gent even de stad én de tijd. Loop het begin van de 20ste eeuw langzaam binnen voorbij de wereldoorlogen tot in de jaren ‘80. Elke kamer vertelt haar eigen ‘springlevende’ verhaal uit ons collectief geheugen. Echt een aanrader om eens te bezoeken als je eens in de mooie stad Gent zal wezen. Soms kan er ook een andere tentoonstelling aanwezig zijn maar je zal je echt vermaken hier.

This is a small impression of my visit in #Ghent to the House of Alijn. In the House of Alijn you will meet something you know from the past. The House of Alijn exposes customs, traditions and rituals that are reminiscent of a recent or more distant past and shows that everyday life is far from ordinary. The museum is located in the historical centre of Ghent, close to the Castle of the Counts on the Kraanlei 65. During your city trip in Ghent, escape the city and time for a moment. Walk slowly into the beginning of the 20th century past the world wars until the 1980s. Each room tells its own 'alive and kicking' story from our collective memory. Highly recommended to visit if you're ever going to be in the beautiful city of Ghent. Sometimes another exhibition can be present but you will really enjoy yourself here.
