The Slav Epic by Alfons Mucha, Prague, Czech Republic.
I made this video of the amazing 20 panel series of canvas by Alfonso Mucha. The paintings reside in Prague in the Czech Republic. The room was poorly lit, most likely for preservation, but we did get a view of all 20 canvases with explanation to the best of our ability. Hope you enjoy!
Visit Prague 5 - Strahov Library (Strahovská Knihovna)
Visit Prague 5: Strahov Library (Strahovská Knihovna). In this film, we leave Prague Castle behind and head further uphill to the Strahov Monastery to see the famous Strahov Library with its extensive collection of old manuscripts and books - and its richly decorated interior.
This is a Short from my Prague mini-documentary, Visit Prague. This series of 8 short videos covers what to see, recommendations for where to go, where to eat and drink and how to get there and get around if you have just a few days to tour the Czech capital as a tourist on a short visit.
From the narration:
After leaving the Prague Castle complex, we headed up Úvoz Street to the Strahov Monastery.
By the way, if you’ve had enough of hills, there’s a tram route nearby!
The monastery was founded in the 12th century and our aim was to buy tickets and see the famous Strahov Library there.
The library houses thousands of old prints and books, including one from the 9th century and many more from the 17th and 18th centuries.
There are two splendidly decorated halls in the library.
The baroque 17th century Theological Hall contains about 18,000 theological books. The room has an ornate stucco ceiling and the frescoes date back to the 18th century.
The 18th century Philosophical Hall was constructed with walnut and contains medical, mathematical geographical and other books.
The Journey of Mankind to Wisdom was painted on the ceiling in 1794.
In the corridor between the two halls there are rare books or facsimiles on display.
There are also science collections, for example the specimens in this display cabinet.
It’s worth noting that some historic sites in Prague, including the cathedral and this library, charge a fee for taking photos.

Looking for a unique and totally private place to stay?
Then there's a hotel in a television and radio tower maybe the place for you to rest your head.
STORYLINE:
It's a room with a view.
In the most unlikely of places - inside a television and radio tower - perched on a hill over looking Prague in the Czech Republic.
In a city known for its beautiful buildings, this structure, with its dour, space-age design and sculptures of babies crawling up the sides, is regarded in some architectural circles as one of the ugliest in Europe.
Yet, it has become a dominant landmark in the city.
And is now a destination for people wanting total privacy because it boasts a hotel inside - a one room hotel.
Seventy-three meters (240 feet) above the ground, the six-star luxurious room is available for 1,000 Euros ($1,305) per night since its opening on Feb 13.
With a view no other hotel room in the city can beat, demand is growing, says Lucie Cerna, sales manager for the hotel, a man has booked the room to propose to his fiancee. So, I think it will be used for special occasions. It won't be a common hotel. And it could be also used as a conference room not just as a hotel.
The restaurant has become so popular in recent months management recommend booking a table a week in advance.

Four Seasons Hotel Prague (Superior Room) - Best Hotel in Prague
Four Seasons Hotel Prague is definitely one of the best luxury hotels in Prague in the best location. It's just next to the Charles' Bridge. All tourist sites are within walking distance. We did not take any transportation when we were in Prague.
Four Seasons' service is a guarantee. All staff are very friendly and helpful but do not give you any pressure.
Four Seasons' housekeeping department is best of the world. They are into all the detail when to make the room. They don't only tidy and the rooms but help you to fold all the clothes that use their branded ribbon to tidy all the charging cables. All hotel schools shall learn from Four Seasons.
I love the newly opened vitality pool located in the spa. It's so relaxing to soak in with the wide variety of massage jets after a whole day walk of the city. There are also steam and sauna in the changing room. All hotel guests are entitled to use it during their stay.

One Room Hotel, Prague, Czech Rep. #HotelReviews
This is the most amazing hotel I have ever been to. Located at the top of TV Tower at Zizkov, Prague it has only 1 room! This exclusive place with a fantastic view of Prague will cost you something around 1000 EUR per night. Definitely not a budget place :) If you want to impress your lady, spend a great, luxury night in the heart of Golden City this is definitely the place for you.
The luxurious ambience in this hotel amplified by the unique view of the Prague panorama offers guests absolute privacy and an unforgettable feeling of exceptionality. You can relax among designer furniture and the most modern technology and rejoice in the view of Prague from a bird’s perspective. The evening bath will also be a unique experience in the glass-walled bathroom.
Adding up good selection of drinks in the fridge, mac computer available for your use and big tv screen - you will want to stay there forever :)
Interesting thing is that the room can be converted as well into the meeting room so this is a great place for any business meetings!
On the lower floor of the tower you will find as well great restaurant and really nice design bar.

Alcron Hotel, La Rotonde, BeBop Bar, Charles Bridge, Astronomical clock, Prague, Czech Republic
We stay in a classic room at the Alcron Hotel Prague for 2 nights in December 2019 and had a good time. The Alcon Hotel is rated as a five star luxury hotel in Art-Deco style which perfectly fits with the old and historical city of Prague.
Due to an own parking area below the hotel you can leave your car in front of the hotel at your arrival and the stuff will care for your car. The price for parking is additional and in our case it was between 35- 40 euros per 24 hours/day. The location of the Alcron Hotel is very central and close to wenceslas square and you can reach the most spots, as well as charles bridge and the astronomical clock, from here easily by feet. At wenceslas square and the close surrounding there are a lot of shops and the pedestrian zone, cafes, restaurants, street food and special food spots, fast food, bars, clubs, museums, casinos, cafes and everywhere presence of a lot of international brands. Even by a little stroll - there are so many spots, historical spots and so much other things to explore and to see. Impossible to visit anything.
The room and the bed were very comfortable with anything you need, a heated mirror in the bathroom and Nespresso coffee machine, hairdryer, etc.
The staff of all areas of the hotel was very friendly.
We arrived late at the fist night and decided to try the La Rotonde Restaurant inside the hotel. We tried schnitzel and duck leg for traditional chech food and all in all it was good and a reasonable price.
Inside the Alcron Hotel there is a michelin star-restaurant too, but we didn't try (even if we would - it was completely booked).
At the next day we started with coffee to go from an nearby starbucks coffee shop and walked between beautyful old buildings to Astronomical clock and the Charles Bridge. We tried the traditional Chimney Cake in a shop with giant varieties close to the Charles Bridge and were surprised that we liked it very much.
The BEBOP Bar inside the Alcron Hotel is one of the best rated bars in Prague and we tried a signature cocktail (which was excellent) and curry (which was very good too). In addition we faced a nice bar and atmosphere, good music and friendly staff.
All in all we had a nice and comfortable stay here and would choose this hotel again. We booked a classic room and so far we didn't expect a spectacular view over Prague or something awesome - but faced a very comfortable bed and comfortable room with all you need for a nice and happy stay and a very friendly service at all areas of the hotel - Thank you again to the staff. The hotel has own restaurants (Alcron Restaurant had a Michelin star from 2012-2017), a top rated cocktailbar, parking area, gym and sauna (we don't try) in a very central location.
A nearby starbucks coffee shop and a 24h kiosk with a wide range of drinks in front of the hotel entrance were additional nice to have if you like something for to go or for the room.

Hotel Review: Designhotel Elephant, Prague, Czech Republic - July 2015
I stayed at the Designhotel Elephant in July 2015 for 4 nights, for two of us I paid £219.30, this was for a Superior Double Room with breakfast included. This was booked via Booking.com . I thought it was a good deal for Prague, which can be an expensive city to stay in.
The hotel is internally connected to the Grandior Hotel, and you can walk from one to the other seamlessly, without even realising that you have changed hotels. Both hotels also share facilities within, so if you are thinking of staying at the Grandior, then this review will be useful for you also.
Together the two hotels create a very large complex, I have no idea how many bedrooms they boast between them, but I would guess that there are well over 100. My room in the Designhotel Elephant was on the 4th floor, room 406. I requested a high floor with a view, I got the floor but not the view, which was internal and over roofs.
The room was lavishly furnished in quite dark colours (a little too dark), the bed was king-sized and comfortable, there was a flat screen TV, mini-bar, desk, chair, wardrobe and safe. It was a good room, and served its purpose more than adequately.
The bathroom was marble and in lighter colours, complimentary soaps etc were provided. The shower was in a bath, with quite a high step up and over, this is not ideal for those less able.
The hotel facilities were decent, the breakfast restaurant was very large, and upon arrival a member of staff takes you to a table. The restaurant staff were impeccable in their professionalism and standards. Breakfast came with a pianist accompaniment, which was a very nice touch. Unfortunately on our very last morning in the breakfast restaurant, my wife had her mobile phone pinched out of her bag. So even with staff checking people into the restaurant, the notorious Prague thieves can still get in - be warned and be vigilant so you don't suffer the same if you stop there. The staff understood our distress at this incident, but there was little they could do other than take our details and show us on a map where the police station was.
Before getting any more sidetracked, back to breakfast...the buffet was extensive and of a very good quality, everything was great, especially the freshly cooked omelettes. I enjoyed my breakfast every day, and the staff even give you a paper coffee shop style cup if you want to take a coffee back to your room - excellent service.
The small restaurant on the Designhotel Elephant side was OK as a venue, but we had the evening buffet and we both found the food bland, and not enough of it, in fact many of the serving dishes were nearly empty. Choice was also limited. I probably wouldn't eat in there again.
The bar on the Grandior side was excellent, the staff were charming and remembered your drinks from the day before, the cocktails that they served were of a very high standard - definitely a must if you stay at this hotel.
In terms of staff and experience, the majority were very positive, however in terms of staff practices, the one irritation that I have from my entire visit, was a member of the cleaning staff who insisted on pushing an extremely noisy floor washing machine in circles around us as we were sat in the Grandior bar. The machine made so much noise that you could not hold a conversation while she was there, and she consistently did this to us every single night that we went to the bar - we actually felt targeted. What was most galling about this, was that the bar closed shortly afterwards, surely this very noisy and atmosphere ruining cleaning could be saved for when the bar had closed? Senior management of these hotels - please take note.
I would consider stopping at this hotel again when I next visit Prague, but I would also look at what other options are available.
