GUNMAN KILLS former BOSS in Empire State Building SHOOTING: POLICE CHASE [CCTV]
Disgruntled employee' Jeffrey Johnson, 58, shot dead by police after attack in midtown Manhattan that left nine others injured..
A laid-off clothing designer killed his former manager before being shot dead by police in New York on Friday after a workplace dispute escalated into a shootout near the Empire State Building.
At least nine people were wounded during the attack, in one of the most crowded areas of Manhattan. Some of those injured may have been shot by police as they shot at the gunman, who pointed his handgun at them but is understood not to have fired.
The shooting led to panic in the tourist-heavy streets around the Empire State Building, with fears that another mass shooting was under way. However, it became clear that it was not a random attack when police revealed that the victim had been targeted.
Police named the suspect as Jeffrey Johnson, a 58-year-old who had been employed for six years as a designer of women's accessories at Hazan Imports, a business that operates from premises in midtown near the Empire State Building.
New York police commissioner Raymond Kelly said during a press conference that he was laid off as part of a downsizing at the firm. Kelly described the gunman as a disgruntled former employee who came back to confront his former manager. He shot and killed the former co-worker, striking him three times, Kelly said.
After shooting his manager, named by city officials as 41-year-old Steven Ercolino, the gunman began walking towards the Empire State Building. He was trailed by a construction worker who managed to alert two police officers on patrol at the building.
Johnson moved to draw his weapon, a .45 caliber handgun, as the officers approached. There are conflicting reports as to what happened next. The [police] tape clearly shows that the gunman had the gun out, and was trying to kill the officers, New York city mayor Michael Bloomberg said. However, other officials at the scene reportedly said the man had not fired on police.
The two police officers discharged 14 rounds, killing Johnson outside the entrance to the Empire State Building. At least nine other people were injured in the shooting -- four women and five men. All were taken to city hospitals with gunshot wounds, but none is believed to be in a life-threatening condition.
Erica Solar, a mother of two who works as a receptionist on 37th St, was among those shot. Solar was on her way to Dunkin' Donuts when she was hit in the back of the leg. Her friend Christopher Collins found Solar lying on the street as he got off a bus on his way to work.
She was basically in shock. She didn't know if she had gotten stabbed or if she had gotten shot, but she just knew she was bleeding, and I was just there trying to keep her calm until paramedics arrived, Collins said.
It was chaotic. Everybody was running, cops were there immediately, Collins said. Solar was taken to Bellevue hospital, about a mile from the Empire State Building.
Solar's brother, Louis Lleras, said that at first she didn't realize she was shot.
She heard the shots ring, she started running across the street ... then she noticed that she was shot, so she just fell down, Lleras said.
Media Rosario, 43, from Brooklyn, was shot in the back of her leg on her way to work at 34th St and Fifth Ave. She was also taken to Bellevue. She said that everything happened so fast, she saw people running, and when she turned around to see what happened, she was already shot, said her sister-in-law, Auselis Rosario.
The shooting took place at about 9am as the Manhattan streets were filled with rush-hour traffic, employees going to work and tourists. Kay Hudson, who works on 33rd St, said she was three feet from one of those shot, but survived unharmed. She told the Guardian she heard the noise of a gun and saw a man fall to the ground.

California man died in April at Dominican Republic resort after drink from hotel room minibar, famil
California man died in April at Dominican Republic resort after drink from hotel room minibar, family says A fourth U.S. tourist died after he fell critically and suddenly ill at an all-inclusive resort in the about a month before three others died in their rooms, source has learned. Robert Bell Wallace, 67, of California, became ill almost immediately after he had a scotch from the room minibar at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino resort in Punta Cana, his niece, Chloe Arnold, told source on Sunday. He was in the Dominican Republic to attend his stepson’s wedding. Arnold said her uncle, an avid traveler, had been in relatively good health and just the month before had been skiing in Lake Tahoe. Arnold said the family has been particularly concerned after having recently learned of the other seemingly mysterious deaths in the Dominican Republic. Miranda Schaup-Werner, a Pennsylvania woman, died almost four weeks later, on May 25, after she had a drink from her minibar at another hotel, the Bahia Principe La Romana. He was fine, Arnold said of her uncle, who owned a construction business and whose obituary page was filled with comments about his generosity and compassion. He and his wife arrived there at around midnight on April 10. On April 11 he had scotch from the minibar. He started feeling very sick, he had blood in his urine and stool right afterward. She said a hotel doctor had checked Wallace, then decided on April 13 that he needed to be hospitalized. Dominican authorities have yet to give the family a cause of death, Arnold said. We have so many questions, she said. We don't want this to happen to anyone else. The U.S. State Department, responding to questions about Wallace's death, said in a statement to source: We can confirm the death of a U.S. citizen in April 2019 in the Dominican Republic. We offer our sincerest condolences to the family for their loss. Out of respect for the family during this difficult time, we do not have additional information to provide. In recent days, a Maryland widow went public with concerns about the death of her husband, David Harrison, last year at the same Hard Rock resort under similar, sudden circumstances. The two had gone there with their 12-year-old son to celebrate their wedding anniversary. My husband was a very fit, very healthy person when he passed away, she told Inside Edition. She said he'd had a physical shortly before the trip and, except for high blood pressure which he kept in check with medication, everything was fine. I started seeing all these other people that were dying of the same exact causes, which made me start to second guess. I no longer feel like my husband died of natural causes,' McCoy told local TV station WTOP. We went down there as a happy family, and we came home a broken family. I came home a widow and my 12-year-old son came home fatherless. Efforts to get a comment about the deaths of Harrison and Wallace from Hard Rock in Punta Cana were unsuccessful. On May 30, an engaged couple from Maryland, Edward Holmes, 63, and Cynthia Day, 49, died in their room at the Bahia Principe La Romana. A hotel employee found them unresponsive in their room after they failed to check out. Dominican authorities have said either preliminary or final autopsies indicated they all died of natural causes, and that they were isolated incidents, but the families said they had doubts. Some have hired lawyers and planned additional autopsies and tests in the United States.U.S. officials have been restrained in their comments, only confirming deaths when asked. Neither the State Department, Bahia Principe, nor Dominican authorities have responded to repeated questions by source about how many tourists from the U.S. and elsewhere have died in their rooms, or anywhere in resorts, in recent years. Nearly half of the roughly 5 million tourists who visit the Dominican Republic each year are from the United States, statistics have shown. While saying little publicly, however, from several international agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, conducted tests Thursday at the Bahia Principe properties where U.S. tourists died. It was unclear whether they inspected other resorts. The FBI confirmed to source on Friday it was assisting Dominican authorities in investigating the deaths. The testing and the FBI's involvement marked the first public indications that officials in the U.S. and the Dominican Republic have considered the possibility of something other than natural causes. Dominican officials said Schaup, Holmes and Day had pulmonary edema, a condition in which the lungs fill with fluid. They said Schaup, 41, who collapsed after having the minibar drink at the Luxury Bahia Principe Bouganville -- which is adjacent to the sister hotel where Holmes and Day died -- died of a heart attack, though her family said she was healthy. In recent days, the family of a woman who was vacationing in the la
Man falls to his death after son-in-law opens elevator doors early
Surveillance footage from a residential building in Cengong county, southwest China's Guizhou Province shows two men waiting for the elevator to arrive. The son-in-law got impatient and used a key to unlock the elevator door and look inside the shaft, but then the father-in-law walked into the shaft, apparently thinking the lift had arrived and fell to his death.
The tragic incident triggered a heated debate online about whether it was by accident or premeditated. The son-in-law seems very professional and knew where the elevator lock was. I don't know its place, said a netizen on Chinese social media platform Weibo. The son-in-law, surnamed Zhou, claims to be the community's electrician. I forgot to tell my father-in-law not to walk in and I didn’t stop him, Zhou explained. The elevator lock is used by firefighters during emergencies and should never be opened otherwise.

ABOUT HILLARY CLINTON
Hillary Clinton has served as Secretary of State, Senator from New York, First Lady of the United States, First Lady of Arkansas, a practicing lawyer and law professor, activist, and volunteer, but the first things her friends and family will tell you is that she’s never forgotten where she came from or who she’s been fighting for throughout her life. Hillary was raised in a suburb of Illinois where she attended public school and was raised a Methodist by her parents. She attended Wellesley College, and went on to study law at Yale. After attending Yale Law School, she went to work for the Children’s Defense Fund, going door to door in New Bedford, Massachusetts. After serving as a lawyer for the Congressional Committee investigating President Nixon, she moved to Arkansas where she taught law and ran legal clinics representing poor people. She co-founded Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families, one of the state’s first child advocacy groups. As First Lady under President Bill Clinton, Hillary tenaciously led the fight to reform our health care system so that all our families have access to the care they need at affordable prices. Hillary led the U.S. delegation to Beijing to attend the UN Fourth World Conference on Women and gave a groundbreaking speech, declaring that “human rights are women's rights and women's rights are human rights once and for all”—inspiring women worldwide and helping to galvanize a global movement for women’s rights and opportunities. Hillary was then elected to the U.S. Senate, becoming the first woman senator from New York. She repeatedly worked across the aisle to get things done, including working alongside Republicans after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. When Congress wouldn't do enough for rural areas and small towns, Hillary didn’t back down. She launched innovative partnerships with the tech industry and provided support to local colleges and small businesses. When President Obama asked Hillary to serve as his secretary of state, she answered the call to public service once again. She was a forceful champion for human rights, internet freedom, and rights and opportunities for women and girls, LGBT people and young people all around the globe. Now she’s running for President because everyday Americans need a champion and she want to be that champion.

Food Trends From This Past Decade We've Already Forgotten About
Everyone knows that food trends tend to come and go, and the 2010s have been no exception. From trendy veggies to extreme desserts to the rise and fall of superfoods, here are the food trends from the past decade that everyone has already forgotten.
In 2013, quinoa was the superfood that took the world by storm. It was even dubbed the International Year of Quinoa by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization. So yeah. Big year for Quinoa. This superfood became especially popular on the health food market, offering a product that was high in protein and fiber, all while being gluten-free and full of vitamins, minerals, and essential amino acids. And as this picture-perfect superfood grew in popularity, a whole industry grew around it. In 2014 alone, the United States imported almost 70 million pounds of the hyper-popular grain. But as the quinoa craze continued to blossom, people started to realize that the grain came with its downsides.
In 2013, The Guardian reported that the price of quinoa had tripled since 2006. And while Western consumers had to pay just a little bit extra for the superfood, the people really affected by the price-hike were those in Bolivia and Peru, where the grain naturally grows. Thanks to its insane popularity overseas, the people of those countries were no longer able to afford a food they had been accustomed to for hundreds of years. Nowadays, it appears that Americans are moving on from quinoa. Looking at Google Trends Data, the term 'quinoa' has plummeted in popularity, only occasionally spiking around the time people start taking on New Year's resolutions.
The rise of the cake pop era really began when an image of some made by Angie Dudley, also known as Bakerella, went viral after being posted on a cupcake website. She was then invited to teach Martha Stewart how to make the bite-size treat in 2008, and the world subsequently went crazy. And the cake pop only grew in popularity as the decade turned.
A cake pop is made from a crumbed-up cake, mixed with frosting, and formed into a ball. It's then coated with melted almond bark or melted chocolate, sometimes incorporating fondant decorations along the way. It's a treat that takes a number of steps, ingredients, and a lot of diligence to make. As people have realized just how hard they are to make, the trend has fizzled out.
According to Google Trends Data, Cake Pops saw a huge spike in people's search histories in 2011, and stabilized a little through the beginning of 2013. Since then, however, the term has experienced a steady decline. The cake pop still lives on, most notably at Starbucks, but it's certainly no longer the wedding or birthday party sensation it once was.
Keep watching the video to find out more about food trends from this past decade we’ve already forgotten about.

Baby Ducks Hatch LIVE | Brooklyn and Bailey
Please consider giving a donation to Rogers Wildlife Rehabilitation Center (Cheep Cheep's new home) here:
If you follow Kamri's Instagram you've known that we've had a duck nesting in our back yard for six weeks, laying a total of 15 eggs!
Well, last week 12 of the remaining 15 eggs hatched. A magpie ate one egg, and two others were duds. We documented the hatching of the little ducklings and caught some super cute footage.
We did not touch the eggs at all, and were careful not to upset the mother duck. There was always one egg that seemed to be exposed, because she was sitting on 15 of them, and we assume that the two duds and Cheep Cheep's egg were the three most exposed to the cold air.
Cheep Cheep really struggled, taking 10 hours to hatch while the others took under 4 hours. Clearly there was something wrong with this, and the mother duck noticed, too. When it came time to teach her ducks to swim, she led them away from the nest, into our pool, and then down to our community pond.
She left Cheep Cheep there, alone, and limp, lying there waiting to die. Kamri was heartbroken, and read online what to do with orphan ducklings. She knew to keep them warm, and did all she could to nurse him back to life.
By the next morning, Cheep Cheep was full of life, and curious about everything! He followed Kamri around the house like Kamri was her mother. Then the next day, when Kamri was gone, Cheep Cheep started following Braidy around!
Kamri found that there is a volunteer-run bird refuge in Dallas, and knew we had to give Cheep Cheep to them so they could make sure he is taken care of. We all struggled saying goodbye, but Kamri had a soft spot in her heart for Cheep Cheep!
Experiences like this remind us how fragile life really is, and how important love is. Sometimes love is all we need!
Be sure to give this video a big ????, and comment below if you have a pet!
Love y'all!

Exploring the Abandoned Kings Park Psychiatric Center
In this episode we explore the infamous Kings Park Psychiatric Center. As one of the most well known asylums in the New York area, there was lots of graffiti and vandalism, but we still managed to find some cool things left inside. We were also shocked by the sheer number of other people inside the building with us who were also exploring.

A 28-year-old man gunned down at a Fairfield gas station in March was apparently killed in a dispute over an engagement ring, and the brutal shooting was captured on store surveillance video.
Adarius Elon Williams, a father of four who celebrated a birthday the day before he was killed, died April 8 in the parking lot of the Citgo station on Milstead Road. Vincent Washington, 25, and Barbara Washington, 31, are charged with murder in Williams’ death. Additionally, Vincent Washington is charged with first-degree kidnapping because the woman who drove him to the gas station said she wanted to leave, and he threatened her with her life.
The Washington siblings, who lost their own sister to murder last year, are set to be in court this afternoon for their preliminary hearings. AL.com has obtained the store surveillance video of the killing, which shows a man with a towel wrapped around his head – identified by police as Vincent Washington – shoot Williams multiple times, nine of those shots fired almost point-blank after while Williams had already collapsed on the ground. Police have said Williams was not armed. According to police and court records, the brother and sister told a friend of Barbara Washington they would buy her gas if she drove them to the Citgo station that day. They were going to meet Williams because he wanted the engagement ring back that he had given to Barbara Washington. Williams’ fiancé at the time of his death was also with him at the gas station the day he was killed.
The friend drove them to the service station, but told police she didn’t know what was going to happen. Once they arrived there, Vincent Washington got out of the car with a towel wrapped around his head. When the friend realized something was amiss, she said she wanted to leave. At that point, according to court records, Vincent Washington told her, “(Expletive), if you drive off I’ll shoot you in the back of the head.”
The friend said she was afraid, and did what she was told to do. The video shows Washington and Williams arguing outside of the vehicle for about 12 seconds, and then Washington opens fire on Williams. Williams fell to the ground on his back, and Washington stood over him and fired nine more shots.
Witnesses on the scene gave a description of a white Nissan Altima leaving the area. They said the vehicle was occupied by two females and a male. A short time later, Bessemer police said, a man suffering from gunshot wounds to the stomach and the hand showed up at UAB West, and a white vehicle reportedly had brought him there.
Authorities confirmed that man – later identified as Vincent Washington - at the hospital was involved in the Fairfield shooting. About 8 p.m., Fairfield police spotted the white Altima and stopped the vehicle. Barbara Washington and another woman were taken into custody. The second woman wasn’t charged.
After the shooting, according to court records, Barbara Washington took the gun used in the slaying to a friend’s house to hide it.
At some point during the incident, Vincent Washington was also shot by someone trying to help Williams. Police have never said who shot the suspect. He spent several days in the hospital before he was released and booked into the Jefferson County Jail. Both of the siblings have remained jailed since then with bond set at $60,000.
Bill Veitch, the district attorney in Jefferson County’s Bessemer Cutoff, confirmed he has seen the video and said it shows the urgency needed in stopping the violence. “Any of us could have been out there at those gas pumps that day,’’ Veitch said. “This war on violence cannot be won unless the communities unite, tear down the walls that have built between us and see, hear and report.”
“It’s going to take a great deal of individual courage to become involved in this struggle,’’ he said. “Join with me and our law enforcement officers, our churches, our judges, to fight these heartless hoodlums. This video is graphic evidence of how great this epidemic has become.”
