Seattle Trip Part 1 | Snoqualmie falls | Lunch at Spice King | Malt Shake at Candy Factory
Travel vlog! Our three day trip to Seattle starts here! Grabbed a quick, cheap but super amazing delicious lunch at Spice King. Their Tandoori fish was smoky, sweet and moist! Served on a sizzling platter!
We made our way then to Snoqualmie falls. The views were majestic, and we later moved onto the Railway Museum. Because the temperature was unusually hot, we made a stop at Snoqualmie Falls Candy Factory and ordered a Malt Milkshake. The Maple Nut ice cream complimented the horlicks like flavor of the malt shake. Yum!

Seattle Unwrap: Fremont
Seattle Unwrap is a video series that will look at areas around Seattle that are in need of churches and God's light to shine through his people. The first thing we can do is to pray as one body for workers to rise up for these areas and that God would move in us. The harvest is plentiful.
Brian Harper is the Urban Church Planting Strategist for the Puget Sound Baptist Association. His heart is for these pockets of Seattle that are not yet reached by the hands of the church. Keep on joining us in prayer.

Ben Affleck Talks Situation In The Congo in Front of Congress
Academy award winner Ben Affleck brought his star power to Washington D.C. on Wednesday (February 26) where he met with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and testified on Capitol Hill over the volatile situation in Congo.
Affleck is the founder of the Eastern Congo Initiative organization, a nonprofit advocacy group dedicated to peace and prosperity in the region, that he launched four years ago.
The star and director of last year's best picture Argo, and star in the upcoming Gone Girl said he was taking the celebrity attention and using it to focus on an issue he cares deeply about - the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Affleck, who has made nine trips to Congo, expressed cautious optimism about the outlook for the African nation while imploring lawmakers to remain diligent.
Without overstating what's taken place since December 2012, I can say unequivocally, that the situation in Eastern Congo has improved, he told lawmakers on the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
In July, Secretary Kerry (U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry) presided over high level UN security council meeting focused on security challenges in the Great Lakes region and on November 7th, M23 was forced to surrender. I am also here today with an urgent message: our work in DRC is not done. We cannot risk diminished U.S. leadership at a time when lasting stability and peace are within reach.
Congo, the former Belgian colony of about 68 million people, is one of the most volatile in Africa. Violence has claimed the lives of 5 million people since a regional war broke out in 1997 and displaced hundreds of thousands of people.
Affleck's Eastern Congo Initiative, with two employees in the U.S. and 12 in the Congo, has had success through its community-based partnerships.
He noted that Theo, a chocolate company based in Seattle, was getting tons of its cacao beans from eastern Congo and making profits and added that coffee was next.
Affleck urged Congress to provide the funds for personnel and resources for the special envoy's office and to pressure U.S. President Barack Obama to engage directly with President Joseph Kabila, among other steps.
Why Alibaba Gave Up On U.S. Consumers
Alibaba is China's largest e-commerce platform. In its latest earnings report, Alibaba disclosed having 636 million annual active consumers on its China retail marketplaces. That's almost double the entire population of the United States.
Alibaba's reach today expands far beyond e-commerce. Its realm now covers cloud computing (Alibaba Cloud), digital media and entertainment, (Youku, Alibaba Pictures, Damai, Alibaba Music, Alisports.com) and logistics services (Cainiao). Alibaba is also part owner of financial services company Ant Financial.
Despite its enormous Chinese following, Alibaba is still not a well known brand to many Americans.
Watch the above video to find out why Alibaba hasn't won over U.S. consumers and how it has focused on attracting U.S. businesses.

SCP-2206 Maximum League Baseball | euclid | Sport / Extradimensional
Based on SCP-2206 -- Maximum League Baseball, written for the SCP Foundation Wiki by M.T. Bade (GreenWolf). Original text can be found here:
SCP-2206 is a series of radio broadcasts that began occurring throughout the continental United States in 2008. These broadcasts mainly occur during the local evening, usually coinciding with a region's baseball games. While it is possible to trace individual instances of SCP-2206 back to their apparent broadcasting locations, no source has been found for them. It is currently theorized that SCP-2206 is an inter-universal broadcast from an alternate universe significantly different from our own.
The content of SCP-2206 is a sports commentary and discussion show. While the focus of this show is a sport referred to as baseball, this sport is significantly different from any known version of baseball played on Earth.
Differences include:
Batters do not receive walks. The only way to get on base is to successfully hit the ball.
Bats are constructed from aluminum or lightweight composites, instead of the northern white ash wood typically used in the construction of professional-level bats.
A larger playing field. The distance between bases has been stated as being 180 feet (approximately 55 meters), while the distance between home plate and the furthest point of the back wall has been given as 1600 feet (approximately 490 meters).
High-strength fences (constructed from various different materials) of great height entirely surround the field for the protection of spectators.
On-field fights between opposing teams are common, expected, and considered a legitimate manner of contesting an umpire's call.
Serious injuries and fatalities are significantly more common.
The use of steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs is mandatory.
Players are highly divergent from baseline humans. Genetically-modified and cybernetically-enhanced humans, sapient ectomorphs, androids, and other anomalous humanoids are present in some combination on all teams.
Fan superstitions appear to be capable of actually affecting the outcome of a game.

The Groucho Marx Show: American Television Quiz Show - Door / Food Episodes
Contestant teams usually consisted of one male and one female, most selected from the studio audience. More Groucho:
Occasionally, famous or otherwise interesting figures were invited to play (e.g., a Korean-American contestant who was a veteran and had been a prisoner of war during the Korean War).
After his signature introduction of Here he is: the one, the only... by Fenneman and finished by a thunderous GROUCHO! from the audience, Marx would be introduced to the music of Hooray for Captain Spaulding, his signature song. After which, Groucho would be introduced to the contestants and engage in humorous conversation for a lengthy period of time where Groucho both improvised his responses and employed prepared lines written by the show's writers using preshow interviews.
Some show tension revolved around whether a contestant would say the secret word, a common word revealed to the audience at the show's outset. If a contestant said the word, a toy duck resembling Groucho with a mustache and eyeglasses, and with a cigar in its bill, descended from the ceiling to bring a $100 bill. A cartoon of a duck with a cigar was also used in the opening title sequence. In one episode, Groucho's brother Harpo came down instead of the duck, and in another a model came down in a birdcage with the money. Marx sometimes slyly directed conversation to encourage the secret word to come up. The duck was also occasionally replaced with a wooden Indian figure.
After the contestants' introduction and interview, the actual game began. Couples chose from a list of 20 available categories before the show, then tried to answer a series of questions within that category. From 1947--1956, couples were asked four questions.
1947--1953 -- Each couple began with $20, wagering part or all of their bankroll for each question.
1953--1954 -- Each couple now began with $0, but selected values from $10 to $100 (in $10 increments). A correct answer added the value of the question to their bankroll, while an incorrect answer did nothing. According to co-director Robert Dwan in his book As Long As They're Laughing, Guedel changed the scoring format because too many couples were betting, and losing, most or all of their money.
1954--1956 -- The format was slightly altered to start each couple with $100. Incorrect answers now cut their bankroll to that point in half.
1956--1959 -- Two couples (reduced from three) answered questions until they either gave two consecutive incorrect responses or answered four consecutive questions correctly for a prize of $1,000.
1959--1961 -- For the last two seasons, couples picked four questions worth $100, $200, or $300 each, potentially winning up to $1,200. Winning at least $500 qualified the team to go for the jackpot question.
From 1947--1956, if the couple ended with $25 or less, Marx asked an elementary consolation question for a total of $25 (later $100) which did not count toward the scores. The questions were made easy in hopes that nobody would answer incorrectly, and included such examples as Who is buried in Grant's Tomb?, When did the War of 1812 start?, How long do you cook a three-minute egg?, and What color is an orange? The question about Grant's Tomb became such a staple of the show that both Marx and Fenneman were shocked when one man got the question wrong by answering No one. As the contestant then pointed out, Grant's Tomb is an above ground mausoleum.
In all formats, one of the two players on the team could keep their half of the winnings while the other risked their half. In this case, all amounts being played for were divided in half.
1947--1956 -- The highest-scoring couple was given one final question for the jackpot, which began at $1,000 and increased by $500 each week until won (reaching $6,000 at least once, in 1952). In the event of a tie, the tied couples wrote their answers on paper and all couples who answered correctly split the jackpot.
1956--1957 -- For a brief period following the format change, couples who won the front game could wager half on another question worth $2,000.
1957--1959 -- Winning couples now faced a wheel with numbers from 1--10, selecting one number for $10,000. If the number selected was spun, a correct answer to the jackpot question augmented the team's total winnings to that amount; otherwise, the question was worth a total of $2,000.
1959--1961 -- For the last two seasons, the format was slightly altered to eliminate the risk and add a second number for $5,000.
