Volcanic Sand Bath Experience ★ ONLY in JAPAN
VOLCANIC SAND BATH? YES!! Welcome to Ibusuki, Kagoshima!
In this episode, John travels to Kagoshima prefecture on the bottom of Kyushu to visit this unique style of onsen. It's call “suna mushi onsen” (砂むし温泉) in Japan. This style of Volcanic Sand Bath is only in Ibusuki, Kagoshima.
There are several health benefits associated to suna mushi onsen.
★ Good for the skin
★ Improves blood circulation
★ Increases your metabolism
★ Relaxation
The sand is on average 50 to 55 degrees Celsius (~122 F) and that heat can be adjusted for children (cooler) -- or hotter for those who can take the heat.
The recommended time limit in the sand bath is 10 minutes although I like to stay under for 15 minutes. You can stay as long as you like but to be honest, you can't stay over 15-20 minutes because your skin and body just can't manage it.
After the sand bath, you rinse off, return to blue yukata robe and soak in an onsen if you like.
The whole experience is only 1080 yen.
A small towel is 120 yen. Lockers and a yukata are included.
Getting to Kagoshima:
Flight: I flew SKYMARK airlines for 9,800 yen but ANA and JAL also fly to Kagoshima from Tokyo as well as Osaka / Kansai.
Train:
Kagoshima is now linked by the Shinkansen like from Tokyo but it takes about 7-8 hours with a change of trains in either Hakata (Fukuoka).
Bus: There are night buses from Osaka, Fukuoka and Tokyo.
I recommend flying though.

Adeyto ♨️ KANNAWA MUSHIYU BEST BEPPU ONSEN ⛲ STEAM BATH ????️ HUAWEI P20 PRO
The most amazing Hot Spring Onsen experience in BEPPU because you wear a cotton yukata and lay down on a bed of herbs Acorusgramineus that smells fantastic and it is extremely hot 70 Celsius inside on top of Japanese rush leaves. Eight to 10 minutes here is said to have the detoxifying power of up to 30 minutes in a sauna! VERY IMPORTANT, if you sleep over night at a Ryokan in Kannawa you can buy a discounted ticket ¥310 from them instead of ¥510 for the entrance fee and can use your Ryokan's Yukata.
You cannot go into the steam sauna naked. You either have to bring your own clothes or rent a yukata, which costs 210 yen. First, you quickly wash your body in the onsen. Then you enter the sauna room through a tiny door. The room is heated by thermal steam and the floor is covered with herbs. The sauna is enjoyed lying down on the herbs. You stay for eight minutes or — if you are tough — ten minutes. Afterwards you can use the onsen to wash off sweat and relax some more. First time I did it I felt like I could stay inside 20 minutes ???? but on the 2nd day at the 8 minutes mark my lower part of legs was burning however I managed to stay the full 10 minutes. Afterwards the cute grandma who is controlling and coordinating everything said I should wear long pants or socks! So you will only feel burning feeling to the body parts getting out of the Yukata ????. But it was a super cool experience, way better than Sand Spa or Mud Spa!! Because, if you think of the sand one, they reuse same sand from person to person all are covered in same sand and sweat in it. But here you have a clean Yukata every time and the herbs are also replaced a couple of times during the day.

Top 10 Hot Springs / Onsen in Japan
Hot water percolates up out of the ground from one end of Japan to the other. The Japanese word for a hot spring is onsen, and there are more than 3000 of them in the country, more than anywhere else on earth – it’s like Iceland on steroids. In Japan, it is not an unusual or even decadent way to pass time soaking in a tub of bubbling hot water. Here are some that are considered to be the holy grail of the onsen world.

So we traveled to Japan to film a three-part series about beauty & style and we’re kicking it off with a trip to the SPA THEME PARK for skincare & relaxation! Yunessun is kind of like a mash-up of a traditional hot springs spa and a waterpark, with some very strange baths to boot - including wine, collagen, green tea, coffee, sake, and more!
Thanks to Yunessun for allowing us to film there! You can check their link out here:

SUGGESTED LEAD IN:
A Japanese spa town that was first discovered in the 8th century continues to attract millions of tourists to what many believe is a holy site.
The bubbling retreat in Beppu on Japan''s southern island is hailed by its bathers for regenerating the body -- and the soul.
STORYLINE:
White smoke emits across Japan''s southern island city of Beppu.
This is Japan''s most famous spa resort, and the smoke is actually steam from the many hot springs that can be found throughout the city.
A faint sulphur smell permeates the city from the 408 hot springs - or onsen as they''re known.
These springs discharge some 130 thousands litres of thermal water each day.
It''s the largest concentration of hot springs in the country.
It is believed that Beppu spa was discovered in the 8th century and became an immediate attraction to visitors keen to sample the waters. Now more than 11 million tourists visit the town of Beppu each year to soak in the hot springs, volcanically-heated sand-baths and mud baths.
There are over 2,000 spas in Japan, attracting 100-million tourists each year.
One of the most popular spas is the public bath house built in 1939.
There are 10 different types of springs including acidic, sulphuric and salty - a feature unique to Beppu.
The springs are a result of the volcanic mountain ridge surrounding the city that was active 30 thousands years ago.
The ancient volcanic activity is the source of geothermal heat of the area.

The steaming city of Nine Hells! 2014 HD 1080p
The city of steams, officially called Beppu is located on the east coast of Kyushu Island in Japan. It’s the world’s second largest source of thermal spring water after Yellowstone National Park in the United States.
It features about 2,800 hot springs from which water flows out at temperatures as hot as 150*C. Nine geothermal hot-spots out of 2,800 are very unique and are known as jigoku (hell) and have been named the “Nine Hells” as they are just for viewing and not bathing. Each hell is unique and has its own remarkable character and color owing to the peculiar mineral present in it.
