Japanese Onsen Bath Experience: Hot Spring Paradise ★ ONLY in JAPAN
Grab your towel because it's time for an epic Japanese onsen bath adventure! We will explore 13 Onsen Towns, hopping from one to another as a bath tourist around Fukushima. Naked outside in the snow? It's part of the fun!
Japanese Onsen are natural hot springs and around them are amazing places where you can bathe in many different kinds of waters. Bath tourism to onsen towns has always been popular with Japanese but as more people come to Japan for a visit, more are visiting the onsen and there are hundreds of hot spring towns.
Onsen baths are loaded with minerals that are good for the body, making your skin silky soft. Most of the water in these areas seeps from the ground, the hot water being the reason why many towns exist at that particular spot, their history rooting in its water.
It's the one do not miss recommendations I have for any trip to Japan. Every onsen is different so in this episode, I visit 13 different onsen towns in Fukushima prefecture, most with history going back centuries.

I Went To A Japanese Spa Theme Park
So we traveled to Japan to film a three-part series about beauty & style and we’re kicking it off with a trip to the SPA THEME PARK for skincare & relaxation! Yunessun is kind of like a mash-up of a traditional hot springs spa and a waterpark, with some very strange baths to boot - including wine, collagen, green tea, coffee, sake, and more!
Thanks to Yunessun for allowing us to film there! You can check their link out here:

Volcanic Sand Bath Experience ★ ONLY in JAPAN
VOLCANIC SAND BATH? YES!! Welcome to Ibusuki, Kagoshima!
In this episode, John travels to Kagoshima prefecture on the bottom of Kyushu to visit this unique style of onsen. It's call “suna mushi onsen” (砂むし温泉) in Japan. This style of Volcanic Sand Bath is only in Ibusuki, Kagoshima.
There are several health benefits associated to suna mushi onsen.
★ Good for the skin
★ Improves blood circulation
★ Increases your metabolism
★ Relaxation
The sand is on average 50 to 55 degrees Celsius (~122 F) and that heat can be adjusted for children (cooler) -- or hotter for those who can take the heat.
The recommended time limit in the sand bath is 10 minutes although I like to stay under for 15 minutes. You can stay as long as you like but to be honest, you can't stay over 15-20 minutes because your skin and body just can't manage it.
After the sand bath, you rinse off, return to blue yukata robe and soak in an onsen if you like.
The whole experience is only 1080 yen.
A small towel is 120 yen. Lockers and a yukata are included.
Getting to Kagoshima:
Flight: I flew SKYMARK airlines for 9,800 yen but ANA and JAL also fly to Kagoshima from Tokyo as well as Osaka / Kansai.
Train:
Kagoshima is now linked by the Shinkansen like from Tokyo but it takes about 7-8 hours with a change of trains in either Hakata (Fukuoka).
Bus: There are night buses from Osaka, Fukuoka and Tokyo.
I recommend flying though.

In addition to the hot spring fields, there is a traditional way of Kusatsu where hot springs are cooled. It is a method designed to lower the water temperature while maintaining the efficacy of a good spring water. The yamomi is a method of lowering the water temperature to a bathing temperature by stirring the hot spring water with a wooden board of 180cm. It is said that lowering the temperature through the nipples has the effect of softening the water quality. This has become a public bathhouse since the Edo era, and since then, a nanny show has been created and continues to this day. I have 30 years of experience. After the performance, the audience was able to try the nanny experience, so I tried holding a wooden plate. If you have five experiences, you can get a nanny certification.

City in Kyushu, Japan
Beppu is a city and spa resort on the southern Japanese island of Kyushu. Set between Beppu Bay and volcanic mountains, it's home to more than 2,000 onsen (hot springs).
Kannawa Onsen district has facilities for bathing in nutrient-rich water, mud, and sand. The 8 Hells of Beppu—6 in Kannawa, 2 in outlying Shibaseki—are dramatic landscapes of thermal pools. To the west is Mount Tsurumi, accessible by cable car.

I finally left Akita and I headed to Gunma, where Mizu and Udon broke out, and Gunma Prefecture was known for its good water quality, so I first came to Kusatsu, the Japanese favorite hot spring. The best known place is Yubatake, a hot springs field in the town square, where hot spring water over 50 ° C is cooled down through seven hot spring fields, about 32,000 liters of hot spring water coming from the source is sent to nearby accommodations People can not take their eyes off this unique scenery, It's good to have a change of smell in the moment you come here. It feels like a hot spring village. I wanted to see you once, but I'm really impressed to see you. I can feel Japanese tradition and experience nanny. It was fun.
