Around the Corner with John McGivern | Program | Westown (#302)
[Latest Airdate: May 11, 2017]
[Original Airdate: January 16, 2014]
Since MPTV is based in Westown, we thought this would be an easy episode to produce. We were wrong -- too many choices! We began with places that start with Milwaukee Public - like the Library, the Museum, and Television (OK, that one was easy!). Some of our other selections are frequent stops, like the BMO Harris Bradley Center and Major Goolsby's. But how long has it been since you've walked into Mader's or Usingers, or since you've explored the Spice House, the Wisconsin Club or the Milwaukee River on a boat? John couldn't resist his chance to play the bagpipes (although perhaps he should have resisted that!) or to nose around a few new places, like the Moderne, and the BrewHouse.
We learned so much, but even John Gurda didn't know why East Town is two words and Westown is one. Seems a bit unfair. Oh, well. Westown may be lacking another T and a space, but it's not lacking anything else!
