Exploring HANGZHOU China
In today’s VLOG, November 13th, My mom and I are in Hangzhou. So we took a tour of downtown and West Lake. Flew the drone, but it was a bit too hazy to get those crisp shots. Locals really like the drone. Why china makes me feel energized. Went back to Ningbo to have dinner with old friends.
The JY_VLOG is a series of semi-daily videos about my life living abroad in China. Early videos follow my expedition up Everest, and future videos will follow me as I cycle around the world from Ningbo, China to Los Angeles, USA. But for now, the VLOGs follow my everyday life in China, and give you a glimpse thru my lens at what its like to live in Asia, and all the hilarity and drama that ensues. Ohh.. and I have a reef tank, fly drones and ride trikes… so if that wets your fancy, subscribe to see more every day.

Chinese STREET FOOD Breakfast Tour in Hangzhou + BULLET TRAIN to Shanghai | Hangzhou, China
My final day in China started off in the city of Hangzhou, where I set off early that morning to find a delicious Hangzhou-style breakfast! I couldn’t wait to fill up on more amazing, local food before I had to leave for Shanghai!
My street food search began in the old town near Hefang Street, a pedestrian street where you can find tons of restaurants. I found a Middle Eastern restaurant where they were making kulcha, a type of flatbread that I had tried in Amritsar, India!
This kulcha contained black sesame seeds, spring onions, and more! It was very thin and crispy and had a light and airy texture. The black sesame was very unique and almost gave it a chocolatey flavor! And because Hangzhou is the green tea capital of China, I had to have some! The tea and kulcha together cost 6 Yuan/$0.87 USD!
Then I found another spot selling thick, fluffy, biscuit-like cake. It was very dense and contained egg, onion, and maybe custard. It was crispy on the bottom and very sweet!
Then I headed over to one of my favorite spots to get a tofu sandwich. On the way, I passed souvenir shops, tea places, and a pharmacy. There are jerky kiosks on the street as well as shoe stores and a McDonald’s. The street is called Royal Street and it has an ancient stream going down the middle of it!
I passed through the gate, which served as the entrance to the old town when Hangzhou was the capital of China.
I ordered a thin crepe with spring onions and tofu. It was almost like a panini and was so crispy and flavorful! The spicy sauce provided a nice contrast to the sweet sauce. I was in tofu heaven!
I also ordered some wonton soup. They were almost like the slippery wontons I’d had a couple of days earlier. There’s a dense piece of pork in the middle, but the wonton wrapping around it slips right down your throat. The best thing about this place is that there were only locals there. I was the only Westerner! My crepe and wonton soup came to just 15 Yuan/$2.18 USD.
After that, I headed back to the gate and went inside, where there is a little museum with paintings and a diorama that shows what Hangzhou looked like when it was the capital of China. It was the biggest city in the world at one point and even amazed Marco Polo!
Then I headed back to my apartment, grabbed my bags, and headed to the train station. I recommend getting to the train station an hour before your train. I was a little behind schedule because I wanted to double- and triple-check that I had everything.
The train station is so big, it looks like an airport! After I got my ticket and passport, I went back upstairs and went through security. The station was super futuristic with lots of shops and restaurants. It felt like I was in a spaceport! There are even arrows on the floor that direct you to drinking water and the bathroom!
The business class lounge was super nice, with lots of snacks and drinks. The ladies there were really friendly! I tried a Chinese drink that turned out to be cold lychee juice! One of the ladies walked me straight to my gate and got me to the front of the line.
I arrived at the platform and boarded my train. This business class was large and had reclining seats with a TV and a tray table. There are thousands of bullet trains that connect Chinese cities. It’s the fastest way to travel; driving between Hangzhou and Shanghai would take 3-5 hours!
It only costs 210 Yuan/about $30 USD for a 45-minute ride. I loved watching the countryside go by. I was given a gift that contains chocolate, raisins, peanuts, biscuits, gummies, and braised beef!
After 45 minutes, we were back at Hongqiao Station in Shanghai!
I hope you enjoyed coming with me on my final street food adventure in China! If you did, please give it a thumbs up and leave me a comment. Also please subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss any of my upcoming travel/food adventures!

Hangzhou City Travel Video_Exploring HANGZHOU China
Hangzhou City Travel Video_Exploring HANGZHOU China.Famed for its natural scenery, Hangzhou and its West Lake (西湖; Xīhú) have been immortalized by countless poets and artists. The city was the capital of the Southern Song Dynasty from 1127 until the Mongol invasion of 1276. The city's population is estimated to have been as high as one million in those days, making it the largest city in the world at the time. Even Marco Polo claimed to have passed through, calling it beyond dispute the finest and the noblest in the world. Since June 2011, the West Lake Cultural Landscape has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
With the gradual silting up of its harbor, much of the city's trade and industry passed north to nearby Shanghai, but the city still has a bustling population of 8.7 million and ranks as one of China's most popular tourist attractions.

Hangzhou | The most beautiful city in China 中国杭州,西湖,美丽的城市
#Hangzhou #WestLake #China
Hangzhou has been called by many names: Shanghai's garden, China's Silicon Valley, China's most beautiful city, and the Paradise City just to name a few. Marco Polo even went so far as to call it, the most beautiful and splendid city in the world. What is it about this city that has people so amped up about it?
在中国杭州的外国人。西湖非常美丽的。杭州非常的美丽的城市。
I have been semi living here in Hangzhou for about a year now, and I will tell you first hand it lives up to the hype. I'm usually a nature guy, but Hangzhou is just about everything I could ask for out of a city. So, it begs the question, is Hangzhou the best China has to offer?
Check out this video to find out just what it is about Hangzhou that has brought it so much attention, and see if it is worth your time in the process.

QUICK TRIP TO HANGZHOU, CHINA
Well hello there beautiful!
I was able to go back to Hangzhou, my home for 4 years! The city was so beautiful and serene. I hope I was able to show you how wonderful it is! To be honest, I was so young when we lived here, so I don't have that much memory of this place. Although, I do remember being pushed in a stroller along West Lake as my parents would take my brother and I on morning walks. Before coming, I looked back at all the photos and videos took from here. I could see small Maxine running around with her arms flailing around in all different directions as I would chase after my brother. Although I do not remember much, I am so happy that my parents took us back here. I can still see my parents' eyes light up once we stepped off of the plane. I hope to come back and spend more time! Thank you for watching, more exciting videos coming in the following weeks! Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe! Thank you so much, I love youuu????

Hangzhou, China in 4k | Aerial footage of this beautiful city – China travel
Hangzhou in China is the capital city of the Zhejiang Province and has been called many names: Shanghai's garden, China's Silicon Valley or China's most beautiful city. When Marco Polo visited the city in the 13th century he called Hangzhou: the most beautiful and splendid city in the world. And after visiting this city I have to say I am also really impressed, with the West Lake, the many temples and modern architecture Hangzhou is truly a nice city. Besides the beauty the city is also home to many famous Chinese start-ups, the most well-known Alibaba.
In this aerial video I want to showcase the beauty of Hangzhou in 4k.

Having lived in Hangzhou for 5 months while a student at Zhejiang University, I took it upon myself to create a video exploring life in Hangzhou. The aim of this is to provide prospective travellers to the city on some cool sites (like the famous West Lake), transport tips and places to grab food. Also a great opportunity to have a word with the local people in Chinese (with subtitles). I take the opportunity to taste the infamous 'Stinky Tofu'.
Hangzhou, it's glorious West Lake (Xihu) and the surrounding scenery and city, is truly a sight to behold!
