We visited Kaho Sok National Park for a day and hands down it was one of my favorite parts of the trip. We then go t Krabi Island and spent our last week there and of course I had to return to my Bombay, which was fun at first and the next morning I had full regret.

Chinese visitors drive a boom in Thailand tourism
(20 Jun 2018) LEADIN:
Thailand's tourism industry is booming, mainly thanks to an increase in visitors from China.
And with the country's high-end tourism market continuing to grow, it means tourists are spending more too.
STORYLINE:
It's springtime in Thailand and the streets of Bangkok are packed with tourists celebrating the Songkran Water Festival.
Traditionally the festival marks the beginning of spring and is known for its water fights.
Millions of people from all over the world are here for the event, which marks the Thai New Year.
International tourist arrivals in Thailand are projected to grow six percent this year after a jump of around nine percent in 2017, according to Thai government data.
The government says international tourist arrivals rose to a record 35.38 million in 2017, equivalent to more than half the Thai population.
The biggest factor was growth of almost 12 percent in Chinese visitors, according to government tourism official Pongpanu Svetarundra.
Visitors from surrounding countries and from other Asian nations including Japan and South Korea are also up sharply, while Europeans and other visitors remain about the same.
Fears that the strong Thai currency (baht) would slow growth in the tourism sector have not materialised, although Thailand's overall economy has lagged compared to regional peers since the army took power in 2014.
Spending per tourist is also up as the country grows its high-end tourism sector.
For the last 10 years most of the tourists coming here were from Europe, most of them were backpackers, says tour guide Thomas Koch.
But now that has changed and we have more high-end tourism. I think that's because our tourism support is more developed and things like accommodation are improved, travelling is more comfortable, that's why they've been coming here more and more for the last 10 years.
Thailand's famous beaches remain the top attraction, with most tourists heading to the islands after a few days in Bangkok.
The country boasts a plethora of white sandy beaches set in stunning natural surrounding with sunshine almost guaranteed all year round.
UK expat photographer Jonathan Milnes says the key to Thailand's success is the tempting package of attractions it offers visitors.
I think Thailand's got a lot of resources as far as tourism goes, it has many beautiful islands, has many beautiful cities, many beautiful temples. People also come over here for the food and the culture, it's so friendly. If a Westerner comes over, the first impressions they get is welcomed with a smile, all the burst of flavours of the food, it's a fantastic place to come.
Tourist revenues rose nearly 12 percent to more than 1.8 trillion baht (56 billion US dollars) in 2017, according to the Thai government.
In 2018, Thailand expects 37.55 million visitors to spend around 2.1 trillion baht.
Angie Apple is the manager of the Blue Lagoon resort on Koh Chang island.
Seven years ago most of the tourists in Koh Chang came from Russia, she says.
Then three or four years ago when the Russian currency fell they stopped coming so much, but we had more tourists coming to Koh Chang from other countries. Then in the last few years we got a lot more tourists coming here from China.
Although it's good for the economy, there are concerns that the growth in tourism is too fast and is leading to overcrowding in Bangkok and pressures on the islands.
But tourists like Heidi from Germany say Thailand offers a taste of paradise.

FARANG: The Story of Chef Andy Ricker of Pok Pok Thai Empire
Subscribe to Munchies here:
Farang, the Thai word for foreigner, is the story of how chef Andy Ricker took a 25 year obsession and spun it into the Pok Pok restaurant empire. While impetus behind Andy opening a restaurant in the first place was a decision based wanting to be able to travel and not continue his house painting business, it became more than that. The focus of Andy's mission soon became to represent the culture and food of the people in Northern Thailand as faithfully as possible. He is constantly reinforcing the idea that he is not a chef, but merely a person who is helping to curate this cuisine in America. In the film Andy introduces us to 3 of his main inspirations Thailand for which he based some of his most successful dishes. Farang covers Andy's story from his childhood to present day, and was filmed between Chiang Mai, Portland, and New York. The filming was mostly done in May 2013 as Andy was getting ready to open up 6th restaurant, Sen Yai.

The Great Gildersleeve: Fishing at Grass Lake / Bronco the Broker / Sadie Hawkins Dance
Premiering on August 31, 1941, The Great Gildersleeve moved the title character from the McGees' Wistful Vista to Summerfield, where Gildersleeve now oversaw his late brother-in-law's estate and took on the rearing of his orphaned niece and nephew, Marjorie (originally played by Lurene Tuttle and followed by Louise Erickson and Mary Lee Robb) and Leroy Forester (Walter Tetley). The household also included a cook named Birdie. Curiously, while Gildersleeve had occasionally spoken of his (never-present) wife in some Fibber episodes, in his own series the character was a confirmed bachelor.
In a striking forerunner to such later television hits as Bachelor Father and Family Affair, both of which are centered on well-to-do uncles taking in their deceased siblings' children, Gildersleeve was a bachelor raising two children while, at first, administering a girdle manufacturing company (If you want a better corset, of course, it's a Gildersleeve) and then for the bulk of the show's run, serving as Summerfield's water commissioner, between time with the ladies and nights with the boys. The Great Gildersleeve may have been the first broadcast show to be centered on a single parent balancing child-rearing, work, and a social life, done with taste and genuine wit, often at the expense of Gildersleeve's now slightly understated pomposity.
Many of the original episodes were co-written by John Whedon, father of Tom Whedon (who wrote The Golden Girls), and grandfather of Deadwood scripter Zack Whedon and Joss Whedon (creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly and Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog).
The key to the show was Peary, whose booming voice and facility with moans, groans, laughs, shudders and inflection was as close to body language and facial suggestion as a voice could get. Peary was so effective, and Gildersleeve became so familiar a character, that he was referenced and satirized periodically in other comedies and in a few cartoons.
