Three Rivers Greenway ride with Palmetto Fat Tire Society (PT. 2)
Description
3 Rivers Greenway Walk
Columbia SC
The Cayce Rivewalk
The City of Cayce has nearly 8 miles of paved Riverwalk for residents and visitors to enjoy year-round. After October’s flooding and rain events, sections of the Greenway were damaged, and one section – Phase 2 – still remains unopened. Tara Greenwood, the Special Projects Grant Coordinator, took South Carolina Public Radio’s Vincent Kolb-Lugo on an exclusive tour of Phase 2.

Columbia is the capital city of South Carolina. It’s home to the South Carolina State House, a Greek Revival building set in gardens dotted with monuments. Riverbanks Zoo & Garden is a huge park with animal enclosures and botanical gardens. A diverse collection spanning centuries is on display at the Columbia Museum of Art. Dating to 1823, the Robert Mills House is a mansion and museum surrounded by ornate gardens.
The city is located approximately 13 miles (21 km) northwest of the geographic center of South Carolina, and is the primary city of the Midlands region of the state. It lies at the confluence of the Saluda River and the Broad River, which merge at Columbia to form the Congaree River. Columbia is home to the University of South Carolina, the state's flagship university and the largest in the state, and is also the site of Fort Jackson, the largest United States Army installation for Basic Combat Training. Columbia is also located 20 miles west of the site of McEntire Joint National Guard Base, which is operated by the U.S. Air Force and is used as a training base for the 169th Fighter Wing of The South Carolina Air National Guard. Columbia is also the location of the South Carolina State House, which is the center of government for the state. In 1860, the city was the location of the South Carolina Secession Convention, which marked the departure of the first state from the Union in the events leading up to the Civil War.

New Additions Coming to Cayce, West Columbia's Riverwalk
The Riverwalk in Cayce, West Columbia is said to be the small town's best kept secret. Now that little piece of paradise is getting even bigger. The Riverwalk will soon break ground on Phase Three of their expansion to add new running trails and picnic areas for members in the community.
Progress continues on Columbia Greenway Rail Trail project
The trail, which already connects Westfield with Southwick, will expand north to connect with Southampton and ultimately Northampton.
Riverfront Park and Columbia Canal Part of South Carolina's Palmetto Trail
Riverfront Park is a 2.5 mile trail running along the historic Columbia Canal. It is a beautiful portion of the Palmetto Trail - which stretches the entire length of South Columbia (Greenville to Charleston). To access the park, you cross a pre-industrial era railway bridge converted into a pedestrian walkway. More than sixty picnic tables, hammocks and benches are spread throughout the trail and markers along the trail make it easy to measure progress through the park.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.
