A favorite destination for canoeists and kayakers, Blackwater River State Park offers opportunities for a variety of outdoor activities. The river is one of the purest sand-bottom rivers in the nation, making this park a popular place for swimming, fishing, camping, and paddling. Shaded campsites are just a short walk from the river and a picnic pavilion overlooks the river.
The Sweetwater Trail, 1.3 miles in length, connects Bear Lake to Krul Recreation Area.

Falling Waters State Park, Florida

Falling Waters State Park Campground has 24 single-family campsites and all have water & electric hookups. The campground is set in a nice evergreen forest and all sites have shade. Group camping is also available. Our favorite sites are: 5, 7, 16, 19, 24

Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot showers ($) and a dump station. There’s also a visitor center, playground, picnic area/pavilion and nature trails. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host.

Kolomoki Mounds, Southwest Georgia, and Florida Panhandle Gulf Coast

A quick trip through Southwest Georgia, including Kolomoki Mounds, small towns. It includes Henderson Beach State Park, Destin, and Miramar Beach located in Florida’s Panhandle Gulf Coast

O'Leno State Park Camping (High Springs, Florida)

O'Leno State Park in High Springs, Florida approximately 21 miles due south of Lake City. Rustic but nice camping. Santa Fe river disappears and goes underground for about 3 miles and reappears in the park system. This park is very close to the Ichetucknee River which a popular tubing river run. Loads of day use activities at this park.

When you get to Old Folkstone Rd, turn right toward Food Lion.
About two miles down, Turkey Point Rd will be on your left.
After about 1.5 miles, Creeks Edge is on the right.
Egret Point Drive is on the right in about 1/4 mile.

Abandoned Church and Owens-Bellview Cemetery Site

I found this abandoned church and Owens-Bellview cemetery site in an old ghost town called Parramore. Parramore was developed as a riverboat landing on the Chattahoochee River in Jackson County around 1870. By 1875 the community started to grow with three riverboat landings. The town, reached it's peak in 1905. Apparently the land was overfarmed by cotton and when the riverboat traffic was no longer needed the town died off.

It is ten miles North of Three Rivers Park. 15 miles North of Sneads, FL
