Tiny Street Temple in China (at Night)
In China there are places near common street intersections where you can find a public street temple for the public to pray. These very tiny temples sometimes don't have any major building surrounding the statues depicting Buddha, Taoist figures, or other deities. This particular temple is located in BaoAn, Shenzhen (蛇口,宝安区, 深圳), in Guangdong province.
Palace of the Queen of Heaven, Tianjin, China (Pt 2) 9-4-2016
Temple of the Queen of Heaven
Temple of the Queen of Heaven, popularly known as Tianhou Taoist Temple or Tianhou Palace is located in the center of Ancient Cultural Street of Tianjin. It is famous for worship of Mazu (Matsu) or Tianhou, the Goddess of Sea and Queen of the Heaven. Initially constructed in 1326 for the marine sacrifices by sailors and fishermen it served for centuries as main venue for prayer to the Goddess of Sea. A big vessel is placed in the center of the temple which contains incense burning since centuries. The main hall contains statue of Queen of Heaven wearing a phoenix coronet and rainbow robe.

Shanghai Old City - Temple of the City Gods
I was interviewed by a friend for his YouTube channel, so we set out to Shanghai's Old City, where the Temple of the City Gods reside, to look for a location to do the interview.
Shanghai has many City God's that all have a long history with the city, but this City God Temple was dedicated to Qin Yubo in 1403 during the Ming Dynasty.
City Gods isn't really a great translation from Chinese, since all of the 'City Gods' are based on real people who lived. A more apt translation would be spirit-protectors of the city.

Tourist Attractions in CHINA Can Be Insane!
Welcome to another China travel vlog! Was hanging out and got some awesome footage of the Ancient Culture Street in Tianjin.
This spot got me thinking about how crowded tourist destinations in China can be. China is a huge country with a massive population of over 1.3 billion people!
China has also seen rapid urbanization and the creation of the middle class. This has allowed millions of people to afford travelling around the country where previously, only the wealthy could do.
This Ancient Culture Street had so many people here because it was during a Chinese Holiday known as Wu Yi which translates to May 1st. Many people had a 3-4 day holiday and that is a perfect time for them to travel with their families.
This is something you need to be careful of. When one place is touted as one of the top tourist attractions in China or famous, it will get ambushed by a crowd of Chinese people. This is how it works here. It doesn't take long for the news to travel. It happens in other countries as well. Chinese people will talk about tourist destinations in world such as Thailand, and next thing you know, Thailand is flooded with Chinese tourists.
The same happened here. This Ancient Culture Street is well known in Tianjin so it is one of the places that gets flooded on holidays by Chinese tourists from other cities/provinces. If you don't mind all the people, you can still enjoy your time here, but if you feel claustrophobic, then you need to be careful!
Another famous area of Tianjin is the Tianjin Eye. It is basically a replica of the London Eye; a ferries wheel you can go on to get an aerial view of the city. I went on it years ago but I decided to just visit this area for some photos and videos!
This is one of the landmarks of the city. And yes, this place was packed!
People from all over the country came here to wait in line to hop onto this Ferris wheel and luckily I did not.
Chinese national holidays can be a nightmare to travel in. If you are thinking about travelling and want to know what to do in China, check to see if Chinese people will also be on vacation during that time. It will save a lot of headache and places won't be so packed. Don't get me wrong, places will still be packed when they aren't on holiday, but the holidays will amplify this phenomenon.
Hope you benefited from this blog post and video!

析津余味 Tianjin folk-custom
This video is about four monks which from the Chinese famous novel named Journey to the West to travel around the ancient city from Tang dynasty and showed the local folk-custom. These four monks in this video were shadow figures, which is made by hides or paperboards. It main used for story show and needed actors behind the white curtain to control the figures. Therefore, these characters themselves were folk-custom.
BEAMS OF LIGHT DEBUNKED (Tianjin China) & LIGHT RAYS VIDEO Analysis (Anticrepuscular Rays?)
Many people have been talking about the light beam from Florida, even one from the recent explosion from Tianjin China. But these images all seem to be a phenomenon of a rolling shutter camera and lightning. In addition, I take a look at a video with a light ray. While it appears to be supernatural or high tech, I would argue that it is most likely what is called anticrepuscular rays. Yet, during the final editing of the video, I noticed that there was two suns that are seen, not just one. So what do you make of it? What's going on in that video?

People Enjoy Traditional Folk custom in Beijing Temple Fair
A temple fair in an outer suburban district of Beijing attracted tourists from Beijng, Tianjin and Hebei Province to enjoy Beijing traditional folk custom.
The temple fair is held between Feb. 1 and 22.
Beijing Water Town(WTown), located in Gubeikou Town, Miyun County, Beijing, backs on the most beautiful and most precipitous Simatai Great Wall. It hosts Yuanyanghu Reservoir as a natural ancient village integrating mountain, water and township as Great Wall + Ancient Town rare in the suburb of Beijing.
It's estimated that about 40,000 people will spend their Chinese lunar new year at this temple fair.
We can wear Han-style garments and Tang-style garments during traditional festivals to display an atmosphere of the Spring Festival. We come here to enjoy this atmosphere, said a couple tourists.
Such traditional snacks as tanghulu, marshmallow and sugar figures at the temple fair recall people's childhood memory. What's more, they can also enjoy the traditional culture there, such as Spring Festival scrolls, Chinese shadow play, paper cutting and cross talks.
Paper cutting and lanterns are good for children to play. As people born in 1980s, we still remember this temple fair environment when we were young. But we can only find the memory here since the old tradition has gone, said a parent taking her daughter to the temple fair.
We can enjoy ourselves to the full and feel relaxed with Beijing traditional folk customs, as I went back to my childhood, such as tanghulu and street vendors, said an elder tourist.
Tanghulu, most popular in northern China, were originally made with Chinese hawthorns.

Shanghai
Shanghai is about 6400 miles from California and is the largest city in the People's Republic of China. with over 23 million people it is the largest city in the world. Located on the East Coast of China at the mouth of the Yangtze River it is also the busiest container port in the world.
The Peninsula Hotel is a five-star luxury hotel on the Bund. In Asia the number 4 is considered an unlucky number and if a hotel has a 4th floor, like a 13th floor in the West, people don't like to stay on it. The number four is very similar to the word for death. But if you stay on the 4th floor (or any floor with the number 4 in it) chances you see more Westerners than Asians. Red is considered a lucky color in China. At one time wedding dresses were in red.
Shanghai grew from a fishing village and textile town to an economic powerhouse because of the port. After the Treaty of Nanking in 1842 the city grew and by the 1930s was the financial center of the Asia Pacific region. It is rich with tourist attractions from the Bund with its historic buildings to the Pudong across the river with its futuristic skyline. They have a joke around Shanghai --- what is the city's national bird ... the crane. As in construction cranes. In the past two decades Shanghai has been one the fastest growing cities in the world. Last year the city's GDP grew to $297 billion
May is an ideal time to visit Shanghai as the temperatures mid-70s. July is usually the most hot and humid in the low 90s and the coolest month is January with temperatures dipping into the low 30s.
In the early morning dozens of men can be seen flying kites along the Bund. Some are simple while other are exotic -- even resembling dragons - a favorite symbol in China.
Watching groups of Chinese practicing tai chi in white silk pajamas along the Bund is impressive. Others jog by in a display of stamina and determination. There are also morning sword exercises but don't give them too much coffee with that pointed weapon swinging around! Where is Jackie Chen when you need him?!
The Bund is eye candy for those fond of historic architecture.
The Astor House Hotel opened in 1846 was said to be the first Western hotel in China. It moved next to Garden Bridge in 1857. Guests have included Einstein and Charlie Chaplin.
The Sasson House built in 1926 --- No relation to the If you don't look good - we don't look good - Sasson. Although in this beautiful building which is now a Fairmount Hotel - everything looks better. There is Lalique glass artwork and stunning architectural details throughout.
The Yuyuan Market is a popular tourist shopping center was originally know for its 15 century temple, The City God Temple. Today lots of Chinese arts and crafts. With over 100 shops and restaurants -- many familiar Western brands from Starbucks to Dairy Queen. The Chinese claim that ice cream was invented in China about 2000 BC when Chinese packed a soft milk and rice mixture in the snow.
Long ago silk making was a closely guarded secret in China. Anyone who gave the secret away could be punished by death.
Gossip Girl's Leighton Messter and Ed Westwick were at the opening of the new Harry Winston store in Shanghai -- the largest store of the group. Ed's Gossip Girl character, Chuck Bass, proposed to Blair Waldof with a Harry Winston 8 ct diamond ring set in platinum.
Following the opening ceremony, a gala dinner was held on the Taiping Lake nearby. Featured was a stunning fashion show, with models draped in diamonds from Harry Winston's Ultimate Adornments collection, and
Chinese traditional dresses custom designed by Judy Hua, one of the
most promising fashion designers in China. A special performance by
top Asian pop singer Jay Chou, who dazzled the audience as he
played from his famed white piano, singing the songs that showed
his distinguished talent in integrating western elements with
traditional Chinese music.
About an hour and a half drive from Shanghai is Benhai golf club. There are two 18-hole courses. The Lake Course is a Links style, designed by Peter Thomson, five times British Open Champion. It combines bunkers, fairways, and lakes. The Forest Course is 18 holes set in a tranquil forest environment.

Shanghai (Chinese: 上海, Mandarin pronunciation: [ʂâŋ.xài] (About this soundlisten), Wu pronunciation: [zɑ̃.hɛ] (About this soundlisten)) is one of the four municipalities under the direct administration of the central government of the People's Republic of China, the largest city in China by population, and the second most populous city proper in the world, with a population of 24.18 million as of 2017.[13][14] It is a global financial centre[15] and transport hub, with the world's busiest container port.[16] Located in the Yangtze River Delta, it sits on the south edge of the estuary of the Yangtze in the middle portion of the East China coast. The municipality borders the provinces of Jiangsu and Zhejiang to the north, south and west, and is bounded to the east by the East China Sea.[17]
As a major administrative, shipping and trading city, Shanghai grew in importance in the 19th century due to trade and recognition of its favourable port location and economic potential. The city was one of five treaty ports forced open to foreign trade following the British victory over China in the First Opium War. The subsequent 1842 Treaty of Nanking and 1844 Treaty of Whampoa allowed the establishment of the Shanghai International Settlement and the French Concession. The city then flourished as a centre of commerce between China and other parts of the world (predominantly the Occident), and became the primary financial hub of the Asia-Pacific region in the 1930s.[18] However, with the Communist Party takeover of the mainland in 1949, trade was limited to other socialist countries, and the city's global influence declined. In the 1990s, the economic reforms introduced by Deng Xiaoping resulted in an intense re-development of the city, aiding the return of finance and foreign investment to the city. It has since re-emerged as a hub for international trade and finance; it is the home of the Shanghai Stock Exchange, one of the world's largest by market capitalization.[19]
Shanghai has been described as the showpiece of the booming economy of mainland China;[20][21] renowned for its Lujiazui skyline, and museums and historic buildings, such as those along The Bund, as well as the City God Temple and the Yu Garden.
