282 Riverside Drive - Tiverton, RI
Perched high atop a hillside in Tiverton's Riverside Village, located in the under-the-radar Seaside town of Tiverton, Rhode Island; close to water and not in a flood zone, with stunning 180 degree view of the Sakonnet Mt. Hope Bay and Bridge and beyond. This special place is enough to make you want to set sail forever in this custom designed, new home. Just an hour from Boston on Major Routes, but a world away when you arrive! This beauty features 3 bedrooms, 2 full and 2 half baths with energy efficiency and weather resistant exterior. When you step inside the front entry door, you experience that ineffable quality that speaks to the soul, rather like a fine wooden boat, crafted and built lovingly by hand. All rooms overlook water with 3 private outside areas that have unparalleled sunsets, interesting and active 180 water views. The interior is the personal creation of a local Architect and Interior Designer. Ship's Bridge earned its name from the open floor plan that features a bowed ceiling, evocative of being onboard a vessel. No mere portholes here - windows are everywhere inviting spectacular sea views. Here, as on every floor, the water views continue throughout the length of the home - from stem to stern. There's a custom designer kitchen, a spacious pantry and a breakfast bar and dining area; all flowing into a gas fire-placed living room surrounded by stunning woodwork, to a cozy into during that occasional night when the fog rolls into Riverside Village. Or sit out on the upper deck and watch the weather roll by. Wake up in your master ensuite bedroom overlooking the water with sitting room, master bath, and two abundant walk-in closets. On the portside of the room turn your attention toward the French doors that open to a private deck overlooking the sea and the calming marine activity. A second bedroom and full bath are located a few steps down the hall, providing everyone with the ultimate in privacy if that is what you desire. Otherwise, if it's entertaining or simply relaxing that you have in mind, step up through a sweeping entry hall and onto an upper open floor that presents endless possibilities. The lower level of the home is brimming with more special features including a third bedroom with a patio, outdoor shower, family room, half bath, laundry and ample storage. A short stroll along the waterfront brings you to a public dock and launch and the unparalleled Boat House Restaurant. Head east into the Stonebridge section of Tiverton's waterfront and enjoy unique and locally sourced cuisine at The Red Dory, owned by renowned Boston Chef, Steve Johnson or merely enjoy a cup of home brewed coffee at Coastal Roasters. Ship's Bridge is also a brief drive (or sail) to several sandy beaches which include Fogland Beach and Goosewing Beach in bucolic Little Compton, Rhode Island. Just a short ride down the road is the country yet sophisticated shops of Historic Tiverton Four Corners, Gray's family-made ice cream and quaint antique shops are a particular highlight in this Town & Country setting; as is the Milk and Honey Shop for local cheese and other delights. And what goes better with cheese than a pleasant drive to two local vineyards, Sakonnet and Westport Rivers for wine tastings all year round. Remember as well that the many splendors of internationally renowned Newport are only 20 minutes away. Ship's Bridge is the perfect get-away or the perfect private retreat whichever you may choose.

Rhode Island 24 Northbound (1/2)
Route 24 is a limited-access state highway in the U.S. state of Rhode Island. It runs approximately 8 miles (13 km) from Route 114 in Portsmouth to Massachusetts Route 24 in Fall River, Massachusetts. Route 24 is the primary freeway access for the two towns in the southeastern corner of the state, Tiverton and Little Compton. Though on the mainland, they are isolated from the rest of the state by an arm of the Narragansett Bay. Because of this, the main freeway connection to Providence involves using Rhode Island Route 24, Massachusetts Route 24, and Interstate 195.

Grow Smart RI | Tiverton Public Library #ShareCommunity
First set forth as a goal within Tiverton’s Comprehensive Plan, the Tiverton Public Library was part of a town vision to develop a new town center for municipal buildings and a library with community meeting space. Decades of local advocacy, along with a federal grant, a successful local capital campaign, and a narrowly won bond referendum resulted in a new civic building that has been labeled the “crown jewel in the network of libraries across the state of Rhode Island.” The Town passed a commercial form-based zoning code to accommodate this new vision for an activity center sited in Bliss Four Corners. Designed by Union Studio Architects, the building is harmonious with the community and recalls the classic simplicity of the original Essex Library. The interior reflects a flexible, modern and data-rich 21st century community gathering place. The new library is located in a mixed-use neighborhood that includes homes, two schools, public ballfields and commercial enterprises.
#ShareCommunity is Grow Smart RI's award-winning, statewide digital storytelling campaign designed to boost state self-esteem among Rhode Islanders by spotlighting those putting smart growth principles into practice towards better communities.
