Rokurinsha Best Tsukemen - Tokyo Ramen Street
Mr and Mrs Owlsie eating our way through Japan :)
This place was recommended by a friend. After flying to Japan during autumn, we had to go again in winter and eat there a 2nd time! The tsukemen is so yummy! Remember to save some dipping sauce and ask for the soup with yuzu! Definitely will go back again!

Japan trip Day 11 of 13 - Tokyo Ramen Show 2015 東京拉麵展, Tokyo Station, Chiyoda 秋葉原, pre-Halloween
Day 11 of 13 - It is a relaxing day as we first went to Toritsu-Daigaku Station (都立大学駅), walked through the upscale Yakumo (八雲) neighborhood within Meguro (目黒区), in order to get to Tokyo Ramen Show 2015 (東京拉麵展) at the Komazawa Olympic Park. After that, we went to Tokyo Station, which is an equivalent to NYC's Grand Central Terminal. Then we had a reservation to visit some owls at the Owl Café in Chiyoda (秋葉原). We had a tempura dinner there but missed the closing time for Gundam Café. There were many pre-Halloween activities on the streets in Chiyoda as well as Shinjuku that evening.

THE SPICIEST RAMEN in Tokyo at Karashibi Kikanbo - DEVIL LEVEL Japanese Food!
Subscribe for more videos►
T-shirts for sale here►
Karashibi Miso Ramen Kikanbo is known for serving the spiciest bowl of ramen you can eat in Tokyo, Japan, and not only is it insanely spicy, you’ll also find that it’s one of the most flavorful bowls of ramen you’ll ever eat as well.
They have two shops, the one of the corner serves only Tsukemen, a style of Japanese ramen where the noodles are dry and you dip them in the sauce. For the traditional bowl of ramen, you walk around the corner to the side and that’s the shop you’re looking for.
Like most ramen restaurants in Tokyo, you enter to a vending machine and choose your bowl of ramen, pay and get a ticket. There are two different spice levels to choose from, chili 1-5 and Sichuan pepper 1-5, 5 being the strongest which is called Devil Level!
I decided to go Devil Level all the way, both chili and Sichuan pepper. Price - 1500 JPY ($13.60) for my bowl. From the top bowl, you pay an extra 200 Yen due to adding so much more spices.
First of all, the Japanese food miso ramen was outstanding, the flavor of the broth was incredibly delicious. On my first bite, what hit me hard was the Sichuan pepper, that made my mouth start tingling and made it hard for me to control my mouth or even talk! The Devil Level chili was not too bad for me, but it was the huge amount of Sichuan chili that almost did me in.
You don’t have to order Devil Level, you can order whatever level you like, but the ramen at Tokyo’s Karashibi Miso Ramen Kikanbo is sure to blow you away with insane flavor!

Best Ramen in Japan - Ichiran | TOKYO FOOD GUIDE
Ichiran is the most popular ramen chain in Japan (and possibly best of the world!) and rated as the best noodle restaurant of Japan. It's definitely a must-try if you ever come to Japan, not only because the food is absolutely delicious, but also the semi-private booths are unique to this ramen chain.
Since I live in Tokyo, I've only tried their locations in Tokyo but I heard Fukuoka stores are the best since it originated from there. They even opened a branch in Brooklyn, New York (but apparently the price is 2-3 times more expensive, and a lot of the things aren't quite the same)!
Let's buy a ticket from the vending machine, sit in a personal booth and try out their amazing food!

Japan Train Bento Top 8 Must-Buy at Tokyo Station | Japanese Street Food Tour
Japanese Street Food Tour and Japan Train Bento / ekiben Top 8 Guide at Tokyo Station. This Tokyo Guide shows what Shinkansen Bento to buy when at Tokyo Station for Japan travelers. This Food Tour of Tokyo Station reviews eikiben food shop options and recommends my favorite Japanese bentos. Street Food in Japan is amazing and the Japanese food offered at Tokyo station is a must try.
Tokyo station is one the main transportation hubs connecting local and shinkansen train lines. But what a lot of people don’t realize, is that Tokyo station has some of the most incredible food shops in Tokyo. And some of the bentos are a must pickup, before getting on a long shinkansen train ride.
Basically, there are 4 main bento shopping areas at Tokyo station. Ecute Keiyo Street, South Court Ecute, Ekibenya Matsuri and Gransta. Gransta is on the basement floor, while the other 3 are on the 1st floor.
Bento (弁当 bentō) is a single-portion take-out or home-packed meal common in Japanese cuisine. A traditional bento holds rice or noodles, fish or meat, with pickled and cooked vegetables, in a box.
Containers range from disposable mass-produced to hand-crafted lacquerware. Bento are readily available in many places throughout Japan, including convenience stores, bento shops (弁当屋 bentō-ya), railway stations, and department stores.
Ekiben (駅弁, railway boxed meals) are a specific type of bento boxed meals, sold on trains and train stations in Japan. They come with disposable chopsticks (when necessary) or spoons. Ekiben containers can be made from plastic, wood, or ceramic. Many train stations have become famous for their ekiben made from local food specialties (tokusanhin).
Ekiben were first sold in railway stations in the late 19th century, and developed at a time when meals on train were necessary during a long train journey.
Tokyo Station (東京駅 Tōkyō-eki) is a railway station in the Chiyoda City, Tokyo, Japan. The original station is located in Chiyoda's Marunouchi business district near the Imperial Palace grounds. The newer Eastern extension is not far from the Ginza commercial district.

CAMERA & AUDIO EQUIPMENT I USE:
Camera: Sony RX100 M3 ►
Voiceover Mic: Samson Go Mic ►
In-Field Mic: Zoom H1 ►
Tripod: Manfrotto Pixi ►
EXPLANATION: I try to keep my equipment as simple as possible. 90% of the time, all I use to film is my Sony RX100 M3, and all I use for audio is my Samson Go Mic (which I use to record voiceovers after filming). Occasionally I use the Zoom H1 for audio if I want to record audio in-field. As for the Pixi tripod, I sometimes use it while filming food, but most of the time I use it to mount my Samson Go Mic on a desk for voiceovers (in conjunction with the other accessories, listed below).
MODULAR COMPONENTS I USE:
Smatree SmaPole S3 (hollow pole only) ►
Joby Action Arm (arm only) ►
Joby Hand Grip (hand grip only) ►
Joby Hub Adapter ►
EXPLANATION: Because I'm often traveling, I prefer to have the lightest, smallest, most versatile components available. Therefore, I use bits and pieces from the above gear sets, and these bits and pieces can be connected together in a huge variety of ways. For example, they can be made into a long selfie stick, they can be mounted to my tripod to make it extra-tall, and they can be used with my tripod and Go Mic to position the microphone directly in front of my face while I'm recording voiceovers at a desk.
MICROPHONE ACCESSORIES I USE:
Foam Mic Cover ►
Pop Filter ►
EXPLANATION: To improve sound quality for voiceovers, I place a mic cover on the Samson Go Mic, then use an elastic band to hang the pop filter on top. This is not the best audio protection available, but it is the most minimalistic and space-efficient gear for traveling. The mic cover can also be used on the rare occasion that I record audio with the Zoom H1.
GEAR I USE FOR CHARGING ON-THE-GO:
Anker Mini PowerBank ►
Silicone Cables ►
Adapter for Micro to Mini ►
Adapter for Micro to Lightning ►
EXPLANATION: Anker's lipstick-sized powerbanks are small yet powerful. I travel with two, so that if one has a low charge, I can charge it in my hotel while I'm out and about with the other powerbank. Using the powerbank in conjunction with the short, durable silicone cables and micro/mini/lightning adapters means I can charge just about any device while on-the-go.
