Tokyo Station (東京駅 Tōkyō-eki) is a railway station in the Marunouchi business district of Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan, near the Imperial Palace grounds and the Ginza commercial district.
Served by Shinkansen high-speed rail lines, Tokyo Station is the main intercity rail terminal in Tokyo. It is the busiest station in Japan in terms of number of trains per day (over 3,000), and the fifth-busiest in Eastern Japan in terms of passenger throughput.It is also served by many regional commuter lines of Japan Railways, as well as the Tokyo Metro network.

Tokyo Station, one of the Important Cultural Properties of Japan, is one of Tokyo’s terminal stations. Called the “Gateway to the Nation,” Tokyo Station is the biggest base for the shinkansen network nationwide. Not only does it function as a station, but within the premises and on the underground, also has a commercial area, including museums, hotels, shops, cafes and restaurants.

Tokyo Metro 16000 Series (Mitsubishi SiC) - Departing Kokkai-gijidō-mae Station (Chiyoda Line)
The Tokyo Metro 16000 Series (東京地下鉄16000系/東京メトロ16000系) is the latest type of rolling stock operated by Tokyo Metro on the Chiyoda Line (千代田線) since 2010. At time of writing, two batches of the 16000 Series currently exist.
The second batch, featured in this video, was manufactured by Hitachi to A-Train specifications and were fitted with Mitsubishi Electric SiC-VVVF propulsion control system.
The 16000 Series is also capable of operating through services to Odakyu Odawara Line, Odakyu Tama Line and JR Jōban Line.

JAPANTRIP「The Mitsubishi Ichigokan」Chiyoda-ku Tokyo 【三菱一号館（東京）】
The Mitsubishi Ichigokan was designed in 1894 by the English architect Josiah Conder at the invitation of the Japanese government not long after the country had ended a long period of national seclusion. The structure, erected by Mitsubishi as the first Western-style office building in Tokyo’s Marunouchi district, makes use of the Queen Anne style of architecture that was popular in England in the late 19th century. In addition to housing the banking department of Mitsubishi’s headquarters, the three-story building, linked by stairs, was rented out for use as office space. Having aged significantly, the original structure was torn down in 1968, and now, some 40 years later, it has been reconstructed on the same lot according to Conder’s original plans. As part of the restoration project, along with a review of the Meiji-era blueprints and survey maps dating from the building’s dismantling, extensive surveys of various documents, photographs, and extant structural components were conducted. In addition to reusing some of the building’s interior components, such as the handrails for the staircases, the structure was reproduced as faithfully as possible down to the use of specific building methods and architectural techniques. The Mitsubishi Ichigokan, symbolizing the modernization of Japan in the late 19th century, has been reborn as the Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum, an icon of Tokyo’s Marunouchi district, in 2010.
Weird and Bizarre Vending Machines at this Akihabara Corner in Tokyo
Check out this strange and interesting collection of items in these vending machines in Akihabara. But be careful! The signs there post VERY strict and almost scary warnings about leaving trash there, drawing graffiti or using that area as a toilet!

Heading for the Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum from Tokyo Station through Marunouchi Naka-dori
An exhibition featuring the English painter Edward Burne-Jones is going on at the Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum, Tokyo. I'm interested in him so I went there starting from Tokyo Station. It has been renovated for a long time but before long it's going to be completed. On my way to the museum I walked Marunouchi Naka-dor. I love this street because here and there you can see sculptural works. They make you feel as if you were already in the museum.
丸の内にある三菱一号館美術館で『バーン＝ジョーンズ展』をやっていたので見に行ってきました。東京駅から彫刻があちらこちらにある丸の内仲通りをとおっていくのですが、もうすぐ修繕も終わる東京駅の荘厳な姿を目に焼き付け、それからおしゃれな街並みの仲通りをとおって美術館へいくというのはいつも楽しいものです。今日も暑かったのですが、ブリックスクエアでは水の霧にして噴出していたので、いくらか涼しさを感じました。絵も通りもよし、丸の内は東京駅の完成とともにますます発展するのではないでしょうか。
