Quick Guide of Ueno Station in Tokyo by FastMoJapan
JR Ueno Station is one of the major stations on the Yamanote Line that runs around the center of Tokyo.
When you enter the central ticket gate, which is the largest entrance, there is a Shinkansen platform on the right side.
Besides Shinkansen, Ueno Station is also a station where many limited express trains depart.
Then heading to the platform of the busiest Yamanote line.
Many popular restaurants are lined up just out of the Shinobazu gate, it also leads to Ameyoko street.
Park gate is located on the opposite is connected to Ueno Park.
There are many routes mixed in, so use the information center if you get lost.
In addition, as the station yard is like a shopping mall, you can enjoy just looking around in addition to meals.
There is a panda bridge in front of Iriya gate, and there is a space that is a little quiet for relaxing.
Coming back to Central gate just after walk around the station yard.
As a meeting location, I recommend the cafe and the statue of wing in Central gate dome.
In addition, JR Ueno Station is connected to subway Ginza Line and Hibiya Line,
Keisei Ueno Station is also right next door on foot.
We FastMoJapan provide these kind of quick video guides of Japan a lot.

☆Bits of knowledge〜Ueno Station〜
Ueno Station (上野駅 Ueno-eki?) is a major railway station in Tokyo's Taitō ward. It is the station used to reach the Ueno district and Ueno Park -- which contains Tokyo National Museum, The National Museum of Western Art, Ueno Zoo, Tokyo University of the Arts and other famous cultural facilities. A major commuter hub, it is also the traditional terminus for long-distance trains from northern Japan, although with the extension of the Shinkansen lines to Tokyo Station this role has diminished in recent years. A similar extension of conventional lines will extend the Takasaki Line, Utsunomiya Line and Joban Line to Tokyo Station via the Ueno-Tokyo Line from March 2015 on existing little-used tracks and a new viaduct.

JR Ueno Station (JR 上野駅), Ueno District, Tokyo Metropolis, Japan
JR Ueno Station (JR 上野駅) is located in Ueno district (Taito ward) of Tokyo Metropolis. JR Ueno station is the biggest train station in Tokyo Metropolis, after the JR Tokyo Station itself. The main reason is because not only there are many JR lines start from JR Ueno station but many Shinkansen trains (except for Tokaido/Sanyo line) stop at JR Ueno station.
Ueno district itself is known to be a vibrant place with many restaurants, social scene and also known for it's shopping streets and Ueno Park. Ueno park is only a few minutes walk from the JR Ueno station, with many tourist attractions such as Ueno Zoo.
The Keisei Skyliner, a direct train to Narita airport (a cheaper alternative for JR Narita express) starts from Ueno and gets to Narita airport in 45 minutes.
Enjoy!!!

Narita Airport to Tokyo - Complete Japan Travel Guide
Here are tips to get to and from Narita Airport. I've lived in Japan for almost 15 years now and this advice is based on all my experiences. Hope this video helps.
Check out more info at
//Timelines//
0:12-Intro
0:13-1:07 Overview of transportation options to Narita Airport
The options are...
-Express Train - Narita Express and Keisei Skyliner
-Local Bus
-Bus - LCC and limousine
-Taxi
Basically LCC buses are the cheapest way to go, and express trains and limousine are about the same price.
1:08-1:28 Overview of express train
-Narita Express is great for people staying in south west area including Shinjuku, Shibuya and Tokyo.
-Keisei Skyliner is great for people staying in north east area including Ueno and Nippori.
1:29-2:52 How to ride the express train
-From the Airport:
When you arrive at Narita Airport, go to B1. You will find RED Narita Express ticket booth and machines on the right and BLUE Skyliner ticket booth and machines on the left.
-To the Airport:
N'EX - Go to your nearest JR station to buy ticket. You can buy tickets even though express train does not stop at your nearest station.
Skyliner - Go to Nippori or Ueno to buy tickets.
2:52-4:05 Tips on express train
Tip 1 - Arrive to the station 15-20 minutes early (on return)
There is always a long line at the ticket booth and the platform to get on the train might be quite far from the gate so make sure to arrive early.
Tip 2 - Use ticket machine when in hurry
Usually you don't need to wait in line for ticket machines to buy a ticket and takes only about 5 minutes. Consider this as an option when you are in hurry.
Tip 3 - Sit at the front of the car
Luggage compartment is located at the front and the end of the each car of express train. People get stuck when getting the luggage upon arrivals. It is stressful to worry about if you can get out or not so it's good to sit at the front. (the end is ok too.)
Note: About tickets
when you buy tickets by credit card, you will receive 3 tickets - an express train ticket, receipt, and credit card receipt. You need to show only the train ticket to the train attendant.
CORRECTION: X 4 ticket → ◉ 3 tickets
(I was with my gf so we had 4 tickets.)
4:05 - 5:22 Bus
- LCC (Tokyo Shuttle and Access Narita) can take you to/from Tokyo and Ginza Station.
- Limousine Bus runs to/from major hotels.
5:23 - 6:05 How to take the bus
-Limousine Bus and Tokyo Shuttle - At Narita Airport on the first floor, you can find ticket machines and man booth.
-Access Narita - All you need to do is go to the train stop and pay on the bus. No reservation needed.

☆Bits of knowledge〜Kiyomizu Kannon-do〜
In 1868, a massive battle took place on the grounds of Kaneiji Temple between the armies of the Tokugawa shogunate and the Satsuma-Choshu Alliance, who supported the restoration of imperial rule. The outcome of this battle was twofold. Firstly, the Tokugawa forces were defeated, leading to the end of the Tokugawa shogunate and the beginning of the Meiji period. Secondly, many of the temple’s building were destroyed, leaving behind only a few original structures dating back to 1625.
One of the structures that survived the battle and was carefully preserved is the Kiyomizu Kannondo. Now on the re-purposed grounds of Ueno Park, formerly of Kaneiji Temple, visitors can see its architecture which dates back to 1631. In terms of its design, those who have been to Kyoto will see its resemblance to Kiyomizudera temple. Part of its uniqueness is a wooden balcony which extends over the hillside. This is particularly lovely spot as it has vantage views over the 1,000 cherry blossom tree-lined main walkway of Ueno Park.

Japan 2015: Day 3 - Ueno Park, Zoo, Tokyo Museum, and Akihabara
We took a little stroll in the park this day visiting different shrines and temples. Along the way, we also visited Ueno Zoo and the Tokyo National Museum. I wasn't allowed to film too much in there so there's not too much footage, but it was definitely nice to see the history.
Afterwards we went to Akihabara, the anime/technology center of the world (or at least that's what it seemed like).
Finally, we travelled to tokyo dome where we enjoyed some christmas-themed celebrations and light shows.
