OX Ranch Safari, Texas
#OXRanch #Texas #Wildlife
Ox Ranch is a massive 18 thousand Acre property located in Uvalde, Texas. The ranch is owned by Brent Oxley the founder of the massively successful dorm room startup Hostgator.com. Oxley sold his business in 2012 and decided to try something new. Something completely different. Ox Ranch has been described as an adult's playground. An outdoor enthusiast's mecha. The ranch boasts more than 60+ species of free ranging animals, both native and exotic. The ranch's main income comes from sport hunting and people come from all over the world for the opportunity, paying a small fortune to hunt some of the ranch's more exotic species. For non-hunters there are plenty of other activities, such as safaris, high powered jet skiing, off-roading, spelunking, arrowhead hunting, kayaking, Bass fishing, and oh yeah, tank driving and shooting! Yes you heard that right... you can drive and shoot real tanks! These are just a few of the ranch's offerings. Highest on our list however, and the reason we came, was feeding the giraffes!
The giraffes at Ox ranch have it pretty great. They are off limits to hunting and roam free in the vast acreage as if it were the African Savannah. This means that despite being somewhat tame, they preserve a bit of their wildness and don't have to come close if they don't want. When we were there some of the giraffes chose to keep their distance because they had a baby. To get this close to these amazing animals though without fences, or zoo pens is something truly special.
Our one hour safari ended up going for two hours. Safaris include seeing lots of animals, feeding giraffes and maybe kangaroos and tortoises. There's lots of bumpy driving, all the bottled water you could drink, and you even get to see real fossil dinosaur tracks. One of the cool things about Ox Ranch is they can customize the experience to your interests. They will work with you to create a truly memorable adventure no matter what you want to do.

Africa in Texas: Franklin Drive Through Safari's Camels
The drive through Texas' Franklin Drive Through Safari is like Africa - without the 18-hour flight and hefty price tag. For cheaper than you'd spend taking the family to the local zoo you can feed, pet and enjoy time with camels from the comfort of your own vehicle in a safe and friendly environment roughly two hours from Houston/Austin and an hour from College Station. How can you beat that? You can't - in the States.

Tiger Safari Tuttle Oklahoma March 24, 2019
Had a great time at the Tuttle Oklahoma Tiger Safari. The grounds were clean and the staff were very helpful. We stayed over night at hut #1 . It was nicer than we expected . We grilled out with friends and family right there onsite. I highly recommend spending a few extra $ and going on the MEGA tour its well worth it ! We were able to feed a tiger on the MEGA tour and held many different animals!!! The animals were all very healthy and very active. I feel when I go to the zoo the animals all look so tired and unnatural. This place is also very handicapped accessible. Even one of the huts is handicapped accessible. Spend the night! they lit-up the whole park with torches! it was over the top. The owner takes pride in this place and treats it like his own backyard.
