Hike to the summit of Torc Mountain (near Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland)
Nice hike to the summit of Torc Mountain. The mountain is located near Killarny, County Kerry in Ireland and the summit is at 535 meters.
The hike is quite popular and the path is well-maintained. When we went up, the winds were quite high, so we didn't stay on the summit for too long. The views were amazing though!

I had never hiked up Torc Mountain in Killarney before so when i saw the snow arrive i knew that would be a great opportunity to capture the views over the Macgillicuddy Reeks with their snowcapped peaks and hopefully get some nice light at sunset. Did my hopes transpire? Watch and find out

Killarney Adventure Race - Stage 4 - Torc Mountain
Stage 4: Torc Mountain Run - 8km
Starting by going under a 250 year old tunnel under the road, competitors will ascend to Torc Waterfall and the old Kenmare Road to the base of Torc Moutain. From here a mountain track and railway sleepers lead you to the summit of Torc Mountain. The 8km distance includes 2km run up and back to the Kayak stage.
Terrain: Walking trail, stone steps, forest track, mountain track, railway sleepers.
Features: From the summit you have panoramic views across the entire Killarney National Park, the Lakes of Killarney.
Precautions: If wet the railway sleepers on Torc Mountain can be slippery.
Cut off point: Competitors who do not reach the base of Torc Mountain by 4pm will not be allowed to continue up to the summit.

Torc Waterfall est une imposante cascade de 20 m de hauteur située aux pieds de la Torc Mountain dans le Parc National de Killarney en Irlande.
Elle fait partie des attraits touristiques à visiter lorsque l'on circule sur le Ring of Kerry.
Le Ring of Kerry est en fait un circuit touristique du comté de Kerry qui fait le tour de la péninsule d'Iveragh.
Il y a un grand stationnement sur le bord de la route. La cascade se situe à 200 m de ce stationnement.
Elle est facilement accessible par un sentier forestier qui longe une petite rivière menant à la cascade.
Un escalier situé près de la cascade mène à différents sentiers dont un vous permet d'avoir un superbe point de vue sur le Middle Lake.

Torc Mountain dominates the southern side of Muckross Lake. It is a wonderful climb, with rich vegetation and magical views across the Upper Lake toward Macgillycuddy’s Reeks and, at peak, over Lough Leane and Muckross Lake.
