The amazing Torre dell'Orso like you've never seen!!!
The wonderful beach of Torre Dell'Orso, is located near Sant'Andrea, lying north of Otranto and south of Roca. A white expanse, about 1.5 km long, with fine sand (absolutely no pebbles), embraced by two rocky ridges (defendending it from North and South winds), backed by pine trees, offering a refuge from the heat of the sun and caressed by gentle sea breeze. Lovely sunrise, with the sun kissing the mirror of blue water, adding blue-green shades. The bay of Torre Dell'Orso, has the characteristic features associated with distinctive names. The most northern beach is called l'Orsetta (because of its proximity to the Tower of Torre Dell'Orso, from which the resort takes its name) and has an equipped lido same named and a free beach , closest to the tower. At the center there is the beach 'Li Tamari', mostly free, interposed between Lido Orsetta and Lido 'Baja d'Oriente'. South we have 'La Sorgente', appealed as the source, forming a canal that flows into the sea. La Sorgente is faced by the impressive so called 'two sisters', two tall islands (which grow mainly in height). They got their name because of its likeness to two human figures. The 'Two Sisters' are a symbol of this beautiful tourist destination. So in Torre Dell'Orso Lidos / Beachbars (equipped and with water games) and stretches of free beach, divide the expanse, offering a spectacular view over the sea, while the Tower (Dell'Orso) watches from above, dictating the laws of a peaceful man / nature coexistence. Behind a village, unique for leaven and texture, offers its Tourists everything they need: steaming breakfast with croissants, delicious ice cream, night entertainment and pastimes (romantic walks along the beach, pubs and discotheque). Some summer nights you will watch the fireflies (small fires on the beach lit by a group of friends singing who wait for dawn). You will find plenty of sport entertainment, including the sports facility 'Giardini del Sole', a park, crossed through by the main street of the village. Inside you will find: beach volleyball courts, tennis, small soccer pitch, miniature golf, aquatic gocart for children and various playgrounds and children games, playroom, restaurant / pizzeria 'Il Vesuvio 2' with great pizza by the meter. Adjacent the Giardini del Sole lies a beautiful residential neighborhood, with the 'Piazza della Luna', which comprises a set of walking streets. The square with shops, pubs and restaurants (including one, 'La Luna Blu', which loves to entertain guests with dance groups and animation) is the area of most recent construction. Boasting a very clear sea, thanks to the currents of the channel of Otranto, with its wide beach of fine silver color, Torre Dell'Orso is a tourist destination on the adriatic coast of Salento, which has never disappointed visitors and tourists, who increasingly, love to come back becoming true veterans, devotees of this pearl of the Adriatic.

Torre dell'Orso is located along the Adriatic coast of Salento in Puglia, near the town of Melendugno. It is a beautiful beach of the length of about 800 meters with fine sand, clear sea and bordered by high cliffs. Along the cliff south of the beach there is an interesting cave, the Grotta di San Cristoforo, with some ancient graffiti, and off the coast two very similar stacks closed to each other, called 'Le due sorelle', the two sisters. Torre dell'orso can be reached by taking the SP297 from the town of Melendugno.

Party at Beautiful Torre dell'Orso
Torre dell'Orso has white-sand beach, the majestic sea stacks Due Sorelle jut out of the crystal-clear waters of the sea.
The beautiful bay of Torre dell'Orso, in the territory of Melendugno, boasts a blue flag and the 5 Sails award by Legambiente.
On the right side of the bay, at short distance from the seashore, two cliffs rising out of the blue waters, called Le Due Sorelle (two sisters), have become the postcard image of Salento.
According to a folk legend, two sisters dived into the choppywaters and when they realized they would never be able to reach the shore, the gods turned them into two beautiful sea stacks. Along the cliffs are numerous sea caves rich in graffiti and traces of prehistory.

The sea stacks that define Torre Sant’Andrea are created by the erosive power of wind and waves beating against malleable coastal cliffs. Fissures are expanded, tunnels are formed, and tenuous natural bridges collapse to leave lonely sentinels rising above the pounding surf below.
Located on the “heel” of Italy’s “boot,” Torre Sant’Andrea takes its name not from these natural towers, but from one constructed by humans in the 16th century as a watch towers, the ruins of which can still be seen. Visitors can lounge on the beach, swim through weathered arches, and even cliff dive (if they know what they’re doing). The local nightlife also apparently features a fairly active reggae scene.

Today is going to be an exciting day! We are on a road trip around Apulia in Southern Italy.
I am supposed to find more locations for the upcoming field trip.
So we started in the early morning all the way down to the southernmost point of Italy at Santa Maria di Leuca. Here meet the Ionian and the Adriatic Seas, and you might even be able to see Africa…
At the next two spots I find awesome tsunami boulders which will be stops for the field trip. And I jumped quickly in the ocean!
But the real fun started in Torre dell’Orso where you can cliff jump into the ocean from different heights.
So I went cliff diving there!!! Almost like I did in Hawaii earlier this year.
