One of Nepal’s most famous religious places of pilgrimage is Gosainkunda lake situated at an altitude of about 4,380 metres under the Langtang National Park where are 100 species of flora and fauna, many more wild lives, disappearing snow-leopard and red panda. A total of 108 glacial fed lakes small to medium including Bhairavkunda, Saraswatikunda and Dudhkunda (milk-pond ) are in this area and also the challenging Lauribina La pass 4,610 meters on its outskirts. Surrounded by high mountains on the north and east, this lake is grand and picturesque, and the Trishuli river originates from the ponds of Gosaikunda. It is believed to have originated from the digging of the land by the Trishul (holy 3-pointed sword) of lord Shiva after he drank the poison from samudramanthan (sea- charning) and desperately wanted cold water to drink quenching the overwhelming heat of the poison. The large rock in the center of the lake is said to be the remains of a Shiva shrine and it is also claimed that channel carries water from the lake directly to the tank at the Kumbheshwar Temple in Patan of Kathmandu valley. Every year during Janai Purnima that fall n full moon in August, thousands of Hindu pilgrims come to take holy bath in the lake. It is believed that if one prayed and bathed in those ponds, one would get fulfilled one’s wish and salvation in life. Whereas Hindu people from different parts of the country as well from abroad visit the sacred place for their religious and spiritual rituals of worshiping their ancestors, the people from other religions enjoy trekking and watching the very astonishing and wonderful activities of the different people. Swyambhu Nath Kathmandu
Swayambhunath is an ancient religious architecture atop a hill in the Kathmandu Valley, west of Kathmandu city. The Tibetan name for this site means 'Sublime Trees' (Wylie: Phags.pa Shing.kun), for the many varieties of trees found on the hill. However, Shing.kun may be a corruption of the local Nepal Bhasa name for the complex, Singgu, meaning 'self-sprung'. For the Buddhist Newars, in whose mythological history and origin myth as well as day-to-day religious practice Swayambhunath occupies a central position, it is probably the most sacred among Buddhist pilgrimage sites. For Tibetans and followers of Tibetan Buddhism, it is second only to Buddha.

Gai Jatra Nepal 2076
Gai Jatra is a festival of dancing, singing, mirth and laughter. The festival of cow is celebrated in the Kathmandu Valley to commemorate the death of loved ones. As part of the festival family members of the deceased of the past year send people mostly children. dressed as cows to parade on the streets. The festival usually falls in July or August.
Gai Jatra is a time to remember lost ones and also to ease the pain. The word Gai mans cow in English. Cow is regarded as the goddess of wealth in the Hindu religion. Sharing of sorrow and taking the comfort in knowing that their lost ones are safe is the true reason of celebrating this festival.
The day is also marked with a gay parade along with many people dressed is weird clothes. In Bhaktapur the festival lasts for eight days. The origin of this celebration goes back to the reign of the Malla rulers. It is said that the Malla Queen was in mourning for a long time after the untimely death of her son. The king in an attempt to console her asked every family that lost a loved one to come out in a procession to show the queen that she was not alone with her suffering. That is why there is much joy and joking during the procession that goes through the streets.

The Himalayas 5416m/17769 ft best long distance trek in the world/Nepal Gopro 7 2.7k
Annapurna Circuit has often been voted as the best long distance trek in the world, as it combined, in its old full form, a wide variety of climate zones from tropics at 600 m asl to the arctic at 5416 m asl at the Thorong La pass and cultural variety from Hindu villages at the low foothills to the Tibetan culture of Manang Valley and lower Mustang. Continuing construction of a road has shortened the trail and changed the villages. The Beisahar-Manag road has been built which passes through the trekking trail most of the time. That is why NATT (New Annapurna Trekking Trail) trail has becoming popular to see this beautiful valley and Himalayas around Marshyandri River bank. NATT is new trekking trail to Annapurna circuit to avoid road. With construction of the road, mountain biking is becoming popular, with Mustang in particular becoming one of the world's most popular mountain biking destinations.
The mountain scenery, seen at close quarters includes the Annapurna Massif (Annapurna I-IV), Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, Manaslu, Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak, Pisang Peak, and Paungda Danda. Numerous other peaks of 6000-8000m in elevation rise from the Annapurna range.
The trek begins at Besisahar or Bhulbhule in the Marshyangdi river valley and concludes in the Kali Gandaki Gorge. Besisahar can be reached after a seven-hour drive from Kathmandu. The trail passes along paddy fields and into subtropical forests, several waterfalls and gigantic cliffs, and various villages. The Annapurna Circuit is a trek within the mountain ranges of central Nepal. The total length of the route varies between 160–230 km (100-145 mi), depending on where motor transportation is used and where the trek is ended. This trek crosses two different river valleys and encircles the Annapurna Massif. The path reaches its highest point at Thorung La pass (5416m/17769 ft), touching the edge of the Tibetan plateau. Practically all trekkers hike the route anticlockwise, as this way the daily altitude gain is slower, and crossing the high Thorong La pass is easier and safer.

Nepal Himalayan climbing, Chulu west expedition, climbing in Nepal, Nepal Expedition, trekking peak
Ascending mount Chulu West and mount Chulu Central can be best made from a base camp in a small valley north of Manang situated off the main route to Thorong La pass 5416m. We can have the heart touching views of this peak from that pass.
North-West Ridge: Go beyond the hut preceding the yak pastures and walk up a ridge which leads into a hidden valley with the possibility to find a good site for base camp. From this camp, ascend steep slopes to a col (4,900m/ 16,076 ft.), on a subsidiary ridge that leads down from the main crease. To the north of the col, move down via snowy slope for 200 meters to the base of a rock band at the height of 5,100 meters, which is the site for a possible high camp. Climbing the difficult rock band to the north-west shoulder of Chulu west 5450 meters or 17,880 feet, another camp can be established or alter-native a camp can be placed on a snow plateau above 5,530 meters or 18,143 feet. Rope was fixed on the rock band during the first and other ascents. From the plateau continue moving up the narrow ridge to the summit 6,250 meters /20,505 feet. Same route is followed to descend down. Every season Monterosa Treks and expedition organizes Chulu-West Peak

Manaslu Expedition autumn /spring 2020, Climbing Manaslu, Nepal tour, Kathmandu tour, Trekking NEPAL
Manaslu is situated in central Himalayan range and is part of Mansiri Himal, which also includes Himalchuli (7893m), Ngadi Chuli (7871m), Shringi (7187m), Langpo (6668m) and Saula (6235m).
Standing at an impressive height of 8163m, Manaslu is a peak of choice for experienced mountaineers. However achieving the feat of conquering the world’s eighth highest mountain is not an easy task.
Like the previous year Manaslu is open for climbing in Spring of 2019. Spring is perhaps the best season for climbing the peak since the risk of snowfall and avalanches is at its lowest. Avalanches frequently occur above 6500m and strong winds and bad weather often has turned back many teams. In fact Manaslu has been known as the fourth most dangerous mountain for expeditions after Annapurna, Nanga Parbat and K2.
The mountain has been successfully attempted from different directions. In 1956 the Japanese expedition made it to the top through east face, two expeditions in 1971 approached from northwest spur and north-east face, the 1972 team opened the southwest face, 1973 team reached the summit via north-east face and in 1980 normal route was used.
The base camp is set up at the altitude of 4800m. Mountaineers usually have to go through 4 camps before making final launch to the summit with Camp 4 at a comfortable height of 7900m.
Monterosa Treks & Expedition offers all the logistics required to operate a successful expedition on an 8000-er. We provide the most experienced Sherpa climbers to lead you to the top along with high altitude porters to carry oxygen cylinders, ladders and other necessities up the mountain. Our cooks have years of experience in preparing the best and most nutritious food essential for expedition team. For details about dates of our Manaslu Spring Expedition 2019, please contact us.

While paying homage to Lord Pashupatinath, one has to pay homage first of all to the shrines of gods and goddesses outside the Pashupatinath Temple, or one can directly enter through the south gate of the Pashupatinath Temple and pay homage to 64 Lingams, Kirtimukhi Bhairav, Unmatta Bhairav, Astamatrika, Nava Graha, Hanuman and advance towards the west side of the Temple by paying homage to Nandi, Trishul, Jaleshwor, Doleshwor, Basuki Naag,, Gupteshwor, Lal Ganesh, Surya, Jalasahi Vishnu, again paying homage to Aryaghat and resting for a while at Muktimandap. Then, one proceeds by paying homage to Santaneshwor, Shree Krishna, and by touching the Dharmashila, one has to enter the main temple from the south side. One should not encircle Lord Shiva, instead one must make a half-circle, the reason being that one should not cross the holy water offered to Lord Shiva. By entering through the south gate, one has to pay homage to Ishan Mukh (face) and then the Purva Mukh (Eastern Face), one has to return then to the Dakshin Mukh (South Face), and in the same process, one has to pay homage to the Uttar Mukh (North face) and lastly the Pachhim Mukh (West Face). While doing this, the holy water offered to Lord Shiva cannot be crossed over. By coming out of the temple, the entire homage is completed.
