A petting zoo is a farm that is generally accessible to the public. At the petting zoo are kept many different farm animals in generally low numbers. The most loved animals, goats, sheep, horses, cows, geese, rabbits, pigs, chickens, ducks and many other (farm) animals. The petting zoo is especially equipped for children (and adults) to become acquainted with the farm animals.
Because of this history, the petting zoos are very diverse. The petting zoo is often owned by the municipality, a foundation or association or a healthcare facility. Sometimes it happens that a petting zoo also features exotic animals. When more than 10 exotic animals are being shown to the public, should such children according to the zoo Decision on a permit to possess.
Ostriches belong to the order Struthioniformes, also called ratites. Characterized by the absence of keel in the sternum. Other birds of this order are the emu, the ostrich, the kiwi, the cassowary and large extinct birds as Aepyornis. The ostrich belongs, in this order, the family Struthionidae. Domestication and breeding of ostriches can be directed towards the production of meat, skin, feathers and eggs. Based on these productions, ostrich is exploited throughout the world, being an animal that adapts well to different climates. Some producing countries are: South Africa, Namibia, Israel, Australia, United States, Canada, France, Spain, Great Britain, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Ukraine and Russia.
About 90% of wild ostriches live in Africa, south of the line of Ecuador. The ostrich, like all birds, lacks teeth and has little mobility in the language, so it does not make chewing some of what you eat. Take the food with its beak and moves toward the opening of the esophagus. Unlike most birds, ostriches have no crop to store food; on the contrary, their proventriculus and gizzard are longer than those of other birds and in proportion to their bodies, so that's where it will store and ferment everything you eat. In addition, the gizzard of ostriches has a thick wall of highly developed muscle layer.
The start of the ostrich occurs from March or April until October or November, making it seasonal. The male is usually responsible for incubating the eggs at night, and the female. At night, all male ostriches that share territory, alternately exchanged positions incubation optionally having a clueless male that does not find its nest with chicks fatal loss.
The hooves of the reindeer are very broad and by a tension skin far spread apart. In addition, long have dew claws formed. This allows the animals in often rocky or muddy terrain secure footing. Reindeer are among the most northerly living large mammals. They inhabit large parts of northern North America and Eurasia. Even on high arctic islands of Spitsbergen, the Ellesmere Island and Greenland occur reindeer. In order to escape the arctic winter, take the reindeer herds, wherever possible, great hikes, some up to 5000 kilometers - the longest regular migration of land mammals ever.
In northern Canada, the distribution area of reindeer ranges (called caribou) further south, so in the boreal zone. The most widespread was the reindeer in the last ice age; then it came to the Pyrenees and to the present-day Mexican northern border before. With the warming at the end of the last ice age began a habitat shift to the north, where the reindeer was staying in temperate zones far. Probably people were responsible for the disappearance of animals from the temperate zones; However, the stocks were already on the wane.
In the British Isles the reindeer died out around 10,000 years ago. Reindeer are primarily grazers; but in summer they take almost any vegetable diet that they can find. In winter they are covered by snow and ice mostly on reindeer lichen limited, mosses and fungi. The natural enemies of reindeer are wolves, wolverines, lynx and bears. Healthy animals, however, know how to avoid these enemies by running their strength; so the fall predators usually only sick and weakened Rener victim.
It is unknown what people first domesticated reindeer. The use of reindeer spread to about 1000 v. Chr. From Siberia to Scandinavia. The model for this latest domestication of a large mammal apparently delivered to the north farmers from farming or livestock breeding cultures. In northern Europe, which were seeds in this area very successfully.

Funny Animal - Acting Animals Take Center Stage At Moscow Theater
An animal theater founded by the late famous Russian tamer Vladimir Durov keeps his traditions of training with love and treats alive.
Durov's Corner is an animal theater in Moscow city center. It is no circus, but a true theater.
It was founded in 1912 by a prominent Russian animal tamer Vladimir Durov. He developed his unique way of animal training based on love, care and treats, having taught sea lions to juggle. He stayed away from using violence against the animals to force them to do tricks. Instead he focused on the animal's natural behavior to use their habits in performances.
The show is not a compilation of circus acts, but a coherent play. And the animals are real dramatic actors with individual roles and characters.
This amazing world can only be experienced in Moscow, as the theater does not tour.

Lynx in Russia Zoo Becomes Best Friends With Stray Cat
A European Lynx at the St. Petersburg zoo in Russia has become best friends with a stray calico cat. The feline reportedly bonded with the Lynx on the first day they met and the pair have been inseparable since. According to zoo officials, the calico cat was only a kitten when she first stumbled into the lynx enclosure. The kitten was homeless and would sneak into the Lynx’s home to get food and water. Instead of rejecting or fighting off the tiny intruder, the lynx embraced her visitor with open paws and a big, warm heart.

Man kicks bear, quickly regrets his decision
This is the horrifying moment a bear charges at a man in a forest and mauls him after he sneaked up on the animal and kicked it.
The lone 'daredevil’ - who has not been identified - filmed himself stalking the young brown bear through secluded woodland in the Kamchatka region of Russia's Far East before kicking it in the back, Sputnik reports.
The bewildered animal - apparently unaware he was there - responded by roaring at the man, launching at him and biting his hand.
The bear ran away immediately after the attack and the man could be heard complaining in disbelief: It bit through my hand.
The shocking video went viral on the encrypted Telegram messaging app earlier this week, according to Ukraine-based media outlet Apostrophe.
It is unknown when the incident occurred. The local forestry agency confirmed it is aware of the video and is investigating.
