MOSCOW Luxury Travel Versus Budget Travel (600 USD Per Day!)
What is the difference beween travelling Moscow on a budget or in luxury? From (free) activities, to the most fancy restaurants and hotels, we'll show it all.
Moscow is Russia's impressive capital. In its historic core is the Kremlin, a complex that’s the official residence of the president and tsarist treasures in the Armoury.
Outside the Kremlin's walls is the Red Square, Russia's symbolic center. It's home to Lenin’s Mausoleum, the State Historical Museum's comprehensive collection and St. Basil’s Cathedral, which is probably Moscow's most iconic building, known worldwide for its colorful, onion-shaped domes.
In this guide we do various free or cheap activities, as well as exploring some of the more luxurious hotels and restaurants (the famous beluga restaurant, known for it's caviar). How expensive is Moscow and what luxury can you find? What can you afford when you travel on a budget?
Want to know where to stay or where not to stay, Moscow tours, restaurants? Check out this Moscow guide!

Saint Petersburg (Russian: Санкт-Петербу́рг, tr. Sankt-Peterburg) is the second largest city in Russia, politically incorporated as a federal subject (a federal city). Situated on the Neva River, at the head of the Gulf of Finland on the Baltic Sea, it was named Saint Petersburg in 1703. In 1914, the name was changed from Saint Petersburg to Petrograd (Russian: Петрогра́д), in 1924 to Leningrad (Russian: Ленингра́д), and in 1991 back to Saint Petersburg.
Tsar Peter the Great founded Saint Petersburg on May 27 1703. Between 1713–1728 and 1732–1918, Saint Petersburg was the imperial capital of Russia. In 1918, the central government bodies moved to Moscow.
It is Russia's second-largest city after Moscow, with five million inhabitants in 2012, and an important Russian port on the Baltic Sea.. (Wiki)
The dominant natural feature of Peterhof is a sixteen-metre-high bluff lying less than a hundred metres from the shore. The so-called Lower Gardens (Nizhny Sad), at 1.02 km² comprising the better part of Peterhof's land area, are confined between this bluff and the shore, stretching east and west for roughly 200 metres. The majority of Peterhof's fountains are contained here, as are several small palaces and outbuildings. East of the Lower Gardens lies the Alexandria Park with 19th-century Gothic Revival structures such as the Kapella.
Atop the bluff, near the middle of the Lower Gardens, stands the Grand Palace (Bolshoi Dvorets). Behind (south) of it are the comparatively small Upper Gardens (Verhnyy Sad). Upon the bluff's face below the Palace is the Grand Cascade (Bolshoi Kaskad). This and the Grand Palace are the centrepiece of the entire complex. At its foot begins the Sea Channel (Morskoi Kanal), one of the most extensive waterworks of the Baroque period, which bisects the Lower Gardens.. (Wiki)
Yelagin Island is a unique protected natural complex. It is the northernmost island in the Neva delta, laved with Big Nevka in the north, with Central Nevka in the south and south-east, and shooting out with the narrow cape into the Gulf of Finland. At one time a royal residence, Yelagin Island since the middle of last century passed into the possession of the state and became the Central Park of Culture and Recreation, and from this moment it opened its doors to all comers.
Today Kirov Central Park is a dynamically developing cultural and recreational space, suitable for audiences of different age groups and interests.
In the park, in Yelagin island palace, there is the Museum of Russian arts and crafts and interior of XVIII-XX centuries, with a permanent exhibition on the first and second floors, which demonstrates the everyday objects of past epochs. For guests of the park there are prepared various excursion programs, telling the history of the park and palace. In the palace there are costumed tours which offer everyone to learn ballroom etiquette XIX century...

EATING PINECONE PANCAKES IN RUSSIA | Trans-Siberian Railway
In this chapter of our Russian adventure along the Trans-Siberian Railway, we stop in Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk and try some unique Russian food!
We're finally in Siberia after about a week on the train. Our first adventure is hiking The Columns. These beautiful magma pillars were formed when lava spurted up from an ancient seabed and cooled as they came in contact with the water. The seabed washed away, turned into a forest, and voila. The perfect place for a Russian travel vlog.
We also found a Siberian specialty food in Krasnoyarsk. Pinecones. Being Canadian, I didn't know you could eat these things. We have snack on a few on top of pancakes during this journey as well.
A bit of a background story. This is a train journey of 10,000 km across Russia, the biggest country in the world. 25 days to visit Saint Petersburg, Moscow, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, Ulan-Ude, and Vladivostok.

Chase Your Fears ????
Boat trip in Saint Petersburg
The weather in St. Petersburg can be very unpredictable, when the weather is great, catch the opportunity and jump on a boat to experience the city from another view, which is truly beautiful. Normally a ticket costs from 500-800 rubes, I have to say the money spent on this boat trip was extremely worthy.
Traveling in Russia Vladivostok with Indradyumna Swami
Vladivostok is a major Pacific port city in Russia overlooking Golden Horn Bay, near the borders with China and North Korea. It's known as a terminus of the Trans-Siberian Railway, which links the city to Moscow in a 7-day journey. In the city center is Central Square, where a towering memorial pays tribute to local soldiers who fought Japanese forces in the early 20th century.
WE FOUND AN ABANDONED SOVIET MILITARY BARRACKS IN RUSSIA
In this Episode of our Adventure along the Trans-Siberian Railway in Russia, we arrive in Vladivostok in Primorsky Krai after 80 hours on the train from Ulan-Ude, and head out into the deep green wilderness.
Here, we meet some friends and explore Russia's beautiful landscape. While doing so, we encountered an abandoned military barracks. I had heard a lot about the abandoned Soviet Military Bases in eastern Europe, and even went urban exploring a military bunker once, but nothing like this.
After we returned to the camp, and caught fresh seafood with our hands, made a pasta, and drank around a campfire. The perfect day.
A bit of a background story. This is a train journey of 10,000 km across Russia, the biggest country in the world. 25 days to visit Saint Petersburg, Moscow, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, Ulan-Ude, and Vladivostok.

Tuscany Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia
Tuscany – This region draws visitors into its sun-warmed bounds to enjoy a life of simplicity and art of the highest form. Click play to follow us through Tuscany and start planning a journey of your own!
When ready, browse vacation packages to Tuscany:
#Tuscany is a legendary region in central Italy that stretches from the Apennine Mountains to the west coast, meandering through endless vineyards, medieval towns and the impossibly beautiful cities of Florence, Siena and Pisa.
In contrast with today’s modern world, Tuscany lures travelers with the promise of a warmer, gentler way of living.
Here, high art mingles deliciously with warm sunshine and fragrant wine. History seeps through the cobblestones and small occasions are transformed into the greatest of pleasures.
Around six hundred years ago, Tuscany changed the world forever when economic, cultural and political forces collided, sparking the Renaissance. It was a new way of thought in which art and education were highly prized and the search for happiness, a noble goal.
Although the world has changed much since then, Tuscany’s values hold firm and a #vacation to this region can leave visitors happily spending days and weeks slowly rediscovering them.
For now, we hope you enjoy watching this #travel #guide as much as we enjoyed making it.

SURVIVING a Russian Banya Ritual | Trans-Siberian Railway
The Russian Banya (don't call it a Russian Sauna, I made that mistake) is the experience of alternating heat and cold exposure, mixed with being whipped with birch branches. While on the Trans-Siberian Railway, we make a stop in Yekaterinburg, in the Ural Mountains of Russia, and get an introduction to this important Russian ritual. The felt hats are used to prevent the head and hair from overheating, and are an interesting touch to the adventure!
This is glimpse in the real Russia, and I'd love to know if you'd give this bath house a shot!

St. Petersburg - Magnificent St. Petersburg
LEARN MORE:
SUBSCRIBE:
Take a short drive to the city center while your guide introduces you to the history of St. Petersburg. You'll stop on the Spit of Vasilievsky Island for an opportunity to take in the views of the Neva River, the Rostral Columns, the Winter Palace and other buildings of the Hermitage Museum, as well as St. Peter and Paul Fortress, situated right across the river. You'll a drive along the Neva River embankments, passing the St. Peter and Paul Fortress.
Your tour continues to St. Isaac's Cathedral for another photo opportunity and a tour of this remarkable building, one of the largest cathedrals in Europe. The interior of the cathedral is richly decorated with different kinds of marble, malachite and other semiprecious stones. After, you'll proceed to a dining venue for lunch. In the afternoon your tour takes you outside of the city to the historical town of Pushkin. The drive will take you to the Egyptian Gates, the entrance to the Tsar's Village. Catherine's Palace in the Tsar's Village ranks as one of the masterpieces of world art.
From the time the palace was built until the time of the last Russian Tsar, Pushkin was used as the summer residence of the Royal Family. In 1756, Bartelomeo Rastrelli expanded Catherine's Palace in Baroque style. The palace tour takes you through a series of magnificent rooms, including the famous Picture Gallery and, of course, the Great Hall. The parks of the estate add to the splendor of the palace, and several of them are embellished with a number of charming pavilions. The town of Pushkin is famous not only for its remarkable palace and parks, but the man it was named after. Since 1937, it has been named after Alexander Pushkin, the most celebrated poet in the country and a resident of this town at the beginning of the 19th century.
Uglic (Russia) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Uglic in Russia.
On the upper reaches of the Volga, around two hundred and eighty kilometres north of Moscow, is the Russian town of Uglič. The Dimitrijvskaija Church is crowned with blue, onion-shaped domes that are adorned with stars. It was built in 1692 out of stone and replaced a wooden church. Everywhere are illustrations of the mysterious death of the heir to the throne on the fifteenth of May, 1591. The red colour of the church is a symbol of bloodshed. Ivan the Terrible had two sons. The eldest, Fjodor Ivanovitch, was thought to be insane but was crowned anyway and was supported by Boris Godunov. As Godunov’s sister, Irina, was married to Fjodor Ivanovitch, his dream of becoming Tsar was almost a reality. When news that the eight year old, Zarevitch, had fatally run into a knife while playing, it caused havoc. Three hundred years later the symbol of the Dimitrijevskaija Blood Church was returned to the place in which the savage deed had taken place. Subsequently, the Romanov Dynasty ruled for three centuries and Uglič became a place of sadness and remembrance of one of the most spectacular events in Russian history.
