Jurong East Info:
Jurong East is a planning area and residential town located in the West Region of Singapore. It borders Jurong West and Boon Lay to the west, Clementi to the east, Tengah and Bukit Batok to the north and Selat Jurong to the south.
The development of Jurong started in the 1970s when estates such as Boon Lay, Taman Jurong, Bukit Batok, Bukit Gombak, Hong Kah, Teban Gardens and Yuhua were built, mostly due to the resettlement of Hong Kah (present-day Tengah) and surrounding villages. Yuhua, Teban Gardens, Bukit Batok and Bukit Gombak formed Jurong East.

Arriving at Singapore Changi Airport - Singapore Airport Arrival procedure - Air Travel Video
We are Arriving at Singapore Changi Airport. We have just arrived at Changi Airport onboard a Singapore Airlines flight from Europe. Viewers follow us as we disembark our plane and begin the Changi Airport Arrival Walk from the plane through Changi Airports Terminal 1 or Terminal 3.
We follow the Arrival signs and not the Transfer signs as we are Arriving at Changi Airport. If you had a connection flight at Changi Airport you would then follow the Transfer signs. After we have made our way through the airport we there proceed to the Singapore Changi Airport Immigration Area also known as Passport Control. We turn the camera off as we pass through Immigration. Once we have passed through the Changi Airport Immigration, it is time to fetch our luggage from the baggage belt. Our baggage with the sponsored Mark Portervale Designer Luggage Covers (check the link pinned in the comments section) are easy to find because of their unique patterns. After picking up our luggage we pass through a security check and then we make it to the Singapore Changi Airport Arrivals Area. At this point we look at the Changi Airport Bus price, Changi Airport Taxi price, Changi Airport Train Price, Changi Airport Shuttle Bus price and Changi Airport Limousine Service price. Maro and Maxi chose to take a Taxi from Singapore Changi Airport to the Singapore City center where our hotel was located.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

Tampines Hub Singapore : ‘What does OTH mean to you?’
‘What does OTH mean to you?’
Our Tampines Hub (OTH) is Singapore’s largest integrated community and lifestyle hub, bringing together multiple agencies and offering a comprehensive range of services and facilities.
Led by People’s Association, OTH represents a new model of a community-focused development, celebrating the full sense of community through meaningful engagement, enriching residents through multiple experiences and empowering them to stake ownership of the hub, so as to build a robust identity for Tampines and a truly sustainable community
Residents can enjoy a range of facilities such as sports facilities, a regional library, community club programmes and facilities, arts programmes and facilities, hawker centre and retail shops.
This integration of facilities in OTH and of other stakeholders - namely National Library Board (NLB), Ministry of Health (MOH), Workforce Singapore (WSG), North East Community Development Council (NE CDC), Ministry of Social and Family Services (MSF), Housing Development Board (HDB), National Heritage Board (NHB), National Arts Council (NAC), National Environment Agency (NEA), HomeTeamNS (HTNS) and SportSG (SSG) - is an effort to better serve Tampines residents and people who live in eastern Singapore, so as to meet the rising expectations of Singaporeans and further intensify land utilisation.
OTH currently serves more than 250,000 residents and approximately 80,000 households.
With an enhanced transportation node of 3 new MRT stations along the Downtown Line at Tampines Town Centre (Tampines West, Tampines, Tampines East), OTH is a convenient and accessible hub with something for everyone.
OTH provides a common secular space for residents and visitors of different backgrounds, races, ages and public and private estates to come together, interact and bond.
In addition to building social cohesion and racial harmony, it caters for a deepened engagement amongst Tampines residents and Hub visitors
OTH integrates the physical facilities, management and programming of multiple agencies. It is currently working toward achieving PA, MCCY/SSC/NA/NHB, NLB, MOH, NEA, HDB, MOH’s key priorities and initiatives to provide better services, widen community outreach and engagement and build community ownership in programming for its residents and visitors.
The integration of the Community Gallery with the Regional Library at OTH has enabled NHB to reach out to new audiences in the heartlands and raise awareness of arts, culture and heritage amongst the surrounding community; strengthen the sense of pride and belonging to the spaces they live in; engender greater ownership of our heritage amongst Singaporeans; thereby fostering a greater sense of nationhood and identity in our people. This is a joint effort with NHB, NLB and Tampines Grassroots Organisations (GROs).
Conceptualised with inputs from 15,000 Tampines residents, Our Tampines Hub is designed with residents, for residents. It is the future of Tampines that offers greater convenience, a full spectrum of activities, facilities and services to cater to residents and visitors of all ages and lifestyle preferences, ensuring it serves all members within our community.

HOP ON HOP OFF SINGAPORE / CITY SIGHT SEEING TOUR / RED AND GREEN LINE / DOUBLE DECKER : cuzuvmcvoy
????????????HELLO AND WELCOME FRIENDS!????????????
Today let’s go and tour around the city!
Hubby managed to book us a CITYSIGHTSEEING PACKAGE which includes a 48 hour HOP ON HOP OFF BUS TOUR of the FAMOUS PLACES AND LANDMARK OF DOWNTOWN.
With a total of SEVEN LINES,
designated according to COLORS, one would could familiarize oneself of the hotspots and different districts of this Lion City.
We enjoy taking these bus tours whenever we visit a major city.
We find it kind of like an introduction and an overview of our trip.
CitySightseeingTour helps us with our itinerary and saves us a lot of time and money. How? Here's how.
First of all, it 's a hop on hop off bus. This means one can use it as a transportation to get around and does not have to pay everytime one gets in. It is a one time fee upon booking.
Secondly, it is a guided tour. They provide a set of earplugs and one can listen to a recording, describing the tour, coinciding on which street or place you are in at the moment, the history behind the landmarks, the views, trivias, which we find helpful understanding what we are looking at. More often than not, the audio guide helps me to look for and focus on the highlights of the tour.
TIMING is critical on these bus tours that is why they provide a schedule on their brochures as to when the bus arrives and leaves on a designated stop. It is very convenient, efficient. The buses are fun and are clean. Usually, it runs on a loop. Not all, but most of them are double deckers. We always choose to sit at the top. It is more fun. Unless it pours. ( Oh, but they provide plastic raincoats too, don't worry. ????. But to be on the safe side, while in Singapore, always bring an umbrella. You'll never know when it's gonna rain.

Singapore, an island city-state off southern Malaysia, is a global financial center with a tropical climate and multicultural population. Its colonial core centers on the Padang, a cricket field since the 1830s and now flanked by grand buildings such as City Hall, with its 18 Corinthian columns. In Singapore's circa-1820 Chinatown stands the red-and-gold Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, said to house one of Buddha's teeth.

From :
The Mass Rapid Transit, or MRT, is a rapid transit system forming the major component of the railway system in Singapore, spanning most of the city-state. The earliest section of the MRT, between Toa Payoh and Yio Chu Kang, opened on 7 November 1987. The network has since grown rapidly in accordance with Singapore's aim of developing a comprehensive rail network as the backbone of the public transport system in Singapore, with an average daily ridership of 3.501 million in 2018 (including the Light Rail Transit (LRT)), approximately 87% of the bus network's 4.037 million in the same period.
The MRT network encompasses 199.6 kilometres (124.0 mi) of route, with 119 stations in operation, on standard gauge. The fully automated North East, Circle and Downtown lines form the longest fully automated metro network in the world. The lines are built by the Land Transport Authority, a statutory board of the Government of Singapore, which allocates operating concessions to the profit-based corporations, SMRT Corporation, and SBS Transit. These operators also run bus and taxi services, thus facilitating full integration of public transport services. The MRT is complemented by a small number of local LRT networks in Bukit Panjang, Sengkang, and Punggol that link MRT stations with HDB public housing estates.
The origins of the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) are derived from a forecast by city planners in 1967 which stated the need for a rail-based urban transport system by 1992. Following a debate on whether a bus-only system would be more cost-effective, then Minister for Communications Ong Teng Cheong, came to the conclusion that an all-bus system would be inadequate, as it would have to compete for road space in a land-scarce country.
The network was built in stages, with the North South line given priority because it passed through the Central Area that has a high demand for public transport. The Mass Rapid Transit Corporation (MRTC)—later renamed SMRT Corporation—was established on 14 October 1983; it took over the roles and responsibilities (which was the construction and operation the MRT system) of the former provisional Mass Rapid Transit Authority. On 7 November 1987, the first section of the North South line started operations, consisting of five stations over six kilometres. Fifteen more stations were opened later, and the MRT system was officially launched on 12 March 1988 by then Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew. Another 21 stations have been added to the system; the opening of Boon Lay on the East West line on 6 July 1990 marked the completion of the system two years ahead of schedule.
The MRT has since been expanded. The first expansion was in 1996, a S$1.2 billion expansion of the North South line into Woodlands, merging the branch line into the North South line and joining Yishun and Choa Chu Kang stations. The concept of having rail lines that bring people almost directly to their homes led to the introduction of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) lines connecting with the MRT network. On 6 November 1999, the first LRT trains on the Bukit Panjang LRT went into operation. In 2002, the Changi Airport and Expo stations were added to the MRT network. The North East line, the first line operated by SBS Transit, opened on 20 June 2003, one of the first fully automated heavy rail lines in the world. On 15 January 2006, after intense two-and-a-half years lobbying by the public, Buangkok station was opened. On 20 June 2011, Woodleigh station was opened. The Boon Lay Extension of the East West line, consisting of Pioneer and Joo Koon stations, opened on 28 February 2009. The Circle line opened in four stages from 28 May 2009 to 14 January 2012. Stage 1 of Downtown line opened on 22 December 2013 with its official opening made on 21 December 2013 by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. Stage 2 opened on 27 December 2015, after being officially opened on 26 December by Prime Minister Lee. The Tuas West Extension of the East West line, consisting of Gul Circle, Tuas Crescent, Tuas West Road, and Tuas Link stations, opened on 18 June 2017. Stage 3, the final stage of the Downtown line, opened on 21 October 2017 with its official opening made on 20 October 2017 by Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Minister for Transport Khaw Boon Wan.
Except for the partly at-grade Bishan MRT station (North South line), the entirety of the MRT is elevated or underground. Most below-ground stations are deep and hardened enough to withstand conventional aerial bomb attacks and to serve as bomb shelters. Mobile phone, 3G and 4G service are available in every part of the network. Underground stations and trains are air-conditioned, while above-ground stations have ceiling fans installed.
Singapore Has Probably The Weirdest Museum In The World
See the gear I use to shoot my videos!
In 1937, the inventor of Tiger Balm opened Haw Par Villa in Singapore to commemorate good old fashioned Chinese values. Cheat on your wife? Chopped in half. Tell a lie? Tongue ripped out. Break a written rule? Chopped in half length wise.
I highly recommend not breaking any rules in Singapore, but definitely visit Haw Par Villa if you like weird stuff. Also in this episode: Singapore Botanic Gardens is just ok, food in little India is great, food in chinatown is just ok and the southern ridges are nice to hang off of.
