The Townhill Loch Country Park Dunfermline Swans and Cygnets July 2016
I have been filming these swans and cygnets for about 4-6 months. There are nine cygnets there's was also a single swan which was cygnet from last year. Last year's swan can be seen in some of the other videos. The father of the cygnets chased last years cygnet /swan away. I hope everyone enjoys watching this years cygnets grow up.

Drive B9037 Road From Culross To Visit Dunfermline Fife Scotland
Tour Scotland travel video of a sunny Spring road trip drive, with Scottish music, from Culross, East on the B9037 and A994 roads, through the villages of Low Valleyfied, Newmills, Torryburn and Cairneyhill on ancestry visit to Dunfermline in Fife. The first historic record for Dunfermline was made in the 11th century when King Malcolm III married his second bride, the Anglo Hungarian princess Saint Margaret, at the church in Dunfermline between 1068 and 1070. The ceremony was performed by Fothad, the last Celtic bishop of St Andrews. King Malcolm III established Dunfermline as a new seat for royal power in the middle of the 11th century and initiated changes that eventually made the township the de facto capital of Scotland for much of the period until the assassination of King James I in 1437.

World famous swans reveal new cygnets at The Bishop's Palace_Wells_Somerset May 2013
Welcome to our new cygnets!
It must have been the recent sudden change in temperature that set nature moving quicker than expected at The Bishop's Palace.
Resident swans Wynn and Brynn revealed seven fluffy cygnets to the world via Swan Cam in the early hours of 9 May.
Delighted visitors and Palace staff have been glued to computer screens keeping a close eye on the new brood as they discover their surroundings for the first time. Some great footage can be seen on The Bishop's Palace You Tube channel.
Swans Wynn and Brynn arrived at the Palace in March and have been the fastest pair of resident swans to produce a set of cygnets.
Naturally both Wynn and Brynn are being very protective of their nest at the moment and we keep seeing Brynn chasing away ducks, gulls and crows says Sarah Moore, Acting General Manager at the Palace.
We've noticed that he particularly doesn't like the colour white, as it could possibly be another swan threatening their cygnets; the white ducks on the moat are finding themselves in deep water if they happen to swim past the nest at the moment as Brynn moves very fast!
Both Wynn and Brynn have been treating visitors to the world famous sight of them ringing a bell alongside the Gatehouse when they want food and it is hoped the new cygnets will take to the water soon and follow mum and dad's lead; It's a tradition that dates back to the 1870's when Bishop Hervey's daughter trained a pair of swans to pull on a rope that had clumps of bread tied to it.
It's been over three years since the Palace enjoyed cygnets on the moat and we are so excited to see the swan family grow, and it has all happened perfectly in time for the May half term and future school summer holidays adds Sarah.
We should stress it is really important that visitors keep a good distance from Wynn and Brynn and the new cygnets in the first few weeks as they adjust to their new home on the moat and we especially need to ask people not to throw them bread at the moment as it is not particularly good for their developing stomachs. They are getting plenty of food from the moat and mum and dad. Other than that, enjoy the sight!
In a few weeks' time The Bishop's Palace will be asking the public to help us name Brynn and Wynn's cygnets.

Malcolm Canmore's Tower Dunfermline Fife Scotland
Tour Scotland video of King Malcolm Canmore's Tower on visit to Dunfermline, Fife. The remains of this tower can be found in Pittencrieff Glen. It was originally a two storey building measuring 52 feet by 48 feet and is thought to contained twenty small apartments. The Tower is seen on the Burgh Arms of the town of Dunfermline. It was first mentioned in the year 1070, the same year the Malcolm married Margaret. Perched high on a rock it was an impregnable fortress and was used as the residence of Scottish Kings until destroyed by King Edward in 1304. Malcolm was the son of King Duncan I and went into exile in Northumberland when his father was killed by Macbeth in 1040 in Forres, Morayshire. With the support of the English King, Edward the Confessor, and his uncle Earl Siward of Northumbria, he defeated and killed Macbeth at Lumphanan in Aberdeenshire in 1057. Lulach, Macbeth's stepson, took over the throne but Malcolm killed him also in the following year. Malcolm founded the dynasty of the House of Canmore which lasted 200 years until the House of Stewart. By his first marriage to Ingebjørg he had two sons, Duncan II, who became king after Malcolm, and Donald. Ingebjørg was the daughter of the norwegian earl Finn Arnesson at Austrått in Trøndelag. Her mother's father was a brother of the norwegian kings St. Olav and Harald Hardråde. Following Ingebjørg's death, around 1069, he married Margaret, the sister of Edgar Atheling. Edgar would have become King of England if William the Conqueror from Normandy had not conquered the country. By this marriage there were six sons, three of whom, Edgar, Alexander and David, would become king.
Scotland Travel: Balmedie Beach
Scotland Travel: Balmedie Beach. The Country Park provides amenities within the dunes for visitors, including parking, toilets, wooden walkways across the sands and streams, picnic areas with barbecues, and a swing park with a fishing theme. The park is often used by horse riders as a starting / finishing point for beach rides with room to park a horsebox or trailer.[4] The beach is also known for its vast dunes.
The park is open during the hours of daylight every day of the year. Over the years the beach has won a number of awards.[citation needed]
There is an unofficial naturist area on the beach, a stretch of the beach behind the Blackdog Firing Range, Google Maps. Access can be gained by walking down the beach towards Aberdeen from the Balmedie Country park car park, or by access through the firing range. Range in use is designated by Red Flags flying in various areas around the range. Naturism Balmedie, Official British Naturism Website
During World War Two, Balmedie beach was designated as a Bomb Cemetery. Defused and unexploded bombs from Luftwaffe raids in Aberdeen were brought here to be cleaned of explosives or detonated on the foreshore. Three pillboxes were build on the dunes at balmedie to protect a small radar station consisting of 3 masts. Anti-Tank blocks are also located in the dunes along with remains of the barb wire defences just to the north.
