Hanoi Traditional House
This is the second floor of a typical traditional house in Hanoi. Located in the Old Quarter, 87 Ma May Street, it is worth a visit. For 50 cents, you can go in and have a peek at how the old houses in Hanoi, often referred to as tube houses, were organized. Meet the old man there and watch him do the traditional Vietnamese painting.

$300 TINY ROOFTOP APARTMENT TOUR in HANOI | LIFE IN VIETNAM
Welcome to my $300 Tiny Rooftop Apartment Tour in downtown Hanoi, Vietnam!
I'm very excited about living in this new apartment! I have all the essentials, plus an outdoor patio deck with a garden pond, and an additional roof deck!
Living in Southeast Asia is extremely affordable. I really lucked out finding this place, though. This type of place can easily go for $500 or higher in Hanoi.
My location is very nice, it's only a 15-minute walk away from Hoan Kiem lake and the Old Quarter area of Hanoi city.
I'm close to the French Quarter as well. Down the street is Ga Ha Noi (Hanoi's main train station). My neighborhood is full of street food, cafes, and nice little shops.

Why are Hanoi tube houses so narrow? Property taxes!
Andrew from Nomad Capitalist is in the Old Quarter of Hanoi, Vietnam and explains why the tube houses there are so narrow.
Hint: it's because of an ancient Vietnam property tax decree. The free market found a way to build in such a way to minimize taxes. Perhaps the Hanoi tube house residents were told by their king they weren't paying their fair share by finding a way around his property tax scheme.

ABOUT NOMAD CAPITALIST
Andrew Henderson travels to nearly 30 countries every year to stay up to date on the latest legal strategies for entrepreneurs and investors to pay less tax, grow their money faster, and build their personal freedom.
Andrew started Nomad Capitalist to help people like you follow his five magic words: go where you're treated best. He has personally started foreign companies, opened offshore bank accounts, and obtained multiple second passports.
He also learned the hard way that perpetual information seeking is often the biggest barrier to getting the results you want. Many entrepreneurs spend months and even years constantly researching how to pay less in tax or live overseas, but are afraid to make the jump.
As a result, they get stuck and keep paying a fortune in taxes and never get the lifestyle they deserve.
Nomad Capitalist's Youtube channel is based on Andrew's vision that focusing on the end result, rather than the latest shiny object, is the best way to actually obtain the benefits of the Nomad Capitalist lifestyle.

Hanoi's coolest crumbling colonial mansion?
A French colonial villa on Hanoi’s Chan Cam St has become one of the most photographed colonial ruins in the city. These days it’s occupied by designers, a popular cafe and other cool small businesses. We met Son, a young guy making beautiful ceramics with his father, that draw on the design traditions of Vietnam’s 10th and 11th century dynasties.

Exploring Van Phuc Silk Village in Hanoi Vietnam
As one of over 1,000 traditional villages existing in Vietnam, Van Phuc Silk Village is considered as one of the few villages retaining the most beautiful cultural and historical traditions of the country.
Far about 10km from Hanoi City center, Van Phuc Silk Village is situated in Van Phuc ward, Ha Dong district, Hanoi. Vietnam is always proud of its cuisine diversity across 3 regions. The display counter is formed base on Vietnam geographical shape (S-shape) presenting traditional dishes from 3 regions with benches, standing tables representing Paracel Islands and Spratly Islands. This symbolizes Vietnam asserting its territorial sovereignty to the world.

Try Northern-Style Pho at Hanoi House
The year-old East Village restaurant Hanoi House has quickly developed a devoted following thanks in large part to its menu full of expertly executed Vietnamese specialties. The restaurant’s top-selling dish is, of course, its version of pho — a unique bowl based on the funkier, more savory style found in the country’s north. Long story short: You want to eat this. Check out the video above to see exactly what makes chef John Nguyen’s house style so special.
Hanoi, Vietnam with Bunnik Tours
Hanoi is a big busy city but as we explore it, it is hard not to fall under its spell. Our day starts with a traditional tai chi class at the Hoan Kiem Lake, right in the heart of the city. Afterwards our touring begins, with highlights including the Temple of Literature, Tortoise Pagoda, St Joseph's Cathedral and the National History Museum. Our sightseeing concludes with a walking tour around the Old Quarter, a fascinating network of narrow alleys and shop houses - and a great place to buy local handicrafts! We then head to the hills of the Hoa Binh Province. Here we visit the traditional Muong village of Giang Mo, a small village of traditional stilt houses, nestled among rice paddies and rolling hills. Here we enjoy a traditional dance performance before returning to Hanoi. Enjoy this and more on our small group tours through Vietnam. For full details of our small group tour program to Asia visit bunniktours.com.au.
