Giới thiệu về Tràng An
Nằm ở cực nam của đồng bằng châu thổ sông Hồng, Ninh Bình cách Hà Nội khoảng 90 km về phía đông nam, Khu di sản có diện tích 6.226 ha, vùng đệm có diện tích 6.026 ha, chiếm gần như toàn bộ khối đá vôi Tràng An với tuổi địa chất hơn 250 triệu năm, một khu vực hòa lẫn giữa thiên nhiên và văn hóa, với ba khu là khu di tích lịch sử văn hóa tâm linh Cố đô Hoa Lư, núi chùa Bái Ðính, khu Danh thắng Tràng An - Tam Cốc - Bích Ðộng và rừng nguyên sinh đặc dụng Hoa Lư.
Tràng An là một vùng thiên nhiên kỳ bí, không bị ảnh hưởng nhiều bởi các hoạt động của con người. Rừng rậm còn hoang sơ, hồ nước, sông suối trong vắt, không khí trong lành, làng quê yên tĩnh, chỉ có âm thanh và sắc màu của thiên nhiên. Cảnh quan địa chất núi đá dạng tháp các-xtơ (karst) Tràng An là một trong những khu vực đẹp và ngoạn mục bởi vẻ đẹp siêu nhiên bậc nhất trên thế giới với muôn hình vạn trạng. Cảnh quan gồm chủ yếu một loạt các tháp các-xtơ dạng nón, với vách dốc đứng, cao 200 m so với nền đất chung quanh. Những rặng núi hẹp nối liền hai đỉnh, được ví như những thanh kiếm khổng lồ, bao quanh các thung, trũng, hố sụt tròn và dài. Các nhà địa chất quốc tế đánh giá đây là một thí dụ điển hình cho tháp đá vôi nhiệt đới ẩm ở giai đoạn cuối của quá trình phát triển địa mạo và là một mô hình để nhận biết, so sánh với các khu vực khác trên thế giới. Cảnh quan chứa đựng một dãy hoàn chỉnh các dạng địa hình đá vôi điển hình, bao gồm tháp, lũng (hố các-xtơ), thung lũng (hố sụt), các cấu trúc sụt lở và các lớp trầm tích, hang ngầm và sông ngầm, hang động và trầm tích hang động. Trong các cuộc nghiên cứu khảo cổ học và phục dựng lại môi trường cổ đã hé lộ chuỗi phát triển văn hóa và hoạt động của người Việt cổ trong mối quan hệ chặt chẽ với tiến hóa địa chất. Từ hàng loạt các di tích, di vật được tìm thấy đã khẳng định vùng đất này luôn được sử dụng làm nơi định cư của loài người. Từ khi hình thành các bãi bồi, cư dân đã đến định cư, khai thác nguồn lợi từ biển, từ núi rừng. Họ cư trú ngoài trời, trong các hang động và lùi sâu vào vùng lõi của Tràng An. Ðến thế kỷ thứ 10, ở thung lũng Hoa Lư, cư dân Tràng An không ngừng phát triển bản sắc văn hóa của họ trong sự hòa hợp chặt chẽ với cảnh quan thiên nhiên. Người Việt đã xây dựng tại đây kinh đô, đắp thành, khép kín thung lũng Hoa Lư để phục hưng văn hóa thời tự chủ, độc lập, lập ra ba triều đại đầu tiên trong nền phong kiến độc lập, làm tiền đề hun đúc văn minh Ðại Việt. Sự phát triển bản sắc văn hóa cứ thế được lưu truyền nối tiếp nhau qua các thế hệ, hiện hữu trong nét đẹp của những truyền thống tín ngưỡng cộng đồng, ăn sâu vào tiềm thức, là một phần không thể thiếu trong đời sống tâm linh, trở thành di sản niềm tin mà đến bây giờ được thể hiện sinh động qua hàng loạt các lễ hội trong quần thể như Lễ hội chùa Bái Ðính (6-1 Âm lịch), lễ hội Cố đô Hoa Lư (10-3 Âm lịch) hay lễ hội Thánh Quý Minh Ðại Vương (18-3 Âm lịch)...

Straight up. Ninh Binh amazed us. Mostly Trang An, which is an unbelievable journey through one of the most beautiful landscapes we have ever seen. We heard many times how Tam Coc is the main draw in Ninh Binh and as soon as we arrived that was our plan.
Once we started talking to a few people they told us we should check out the alternative option; Trang An. It is less expensive, a better experience, less touristy, and overall just way better. We thought we should check it out and we weren't disappointed.
This day was up there around one of our favorite days yet on our entire trip. If you find yourself in Vietnam, a trip to Ninh Binh is definitely worth it and make sure you go check out Trang An.
This is the start of our journey to pursue a life fulfilling our travel passions while we document the ups and downs of embracing the 'location independent', remote working - digital nomad - lifestyle.

Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, Ninh Binh | VietNam Discovery
Trang An grottoes, apprearing in the famous Hollywood movie Kong: Skull Island, is a famous tourist destination for both domestic and foreign visitors. Trang An is also a UNESCO world Heritage and it’d be such as waste for nature lovers to miss this place.
The Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex is located in the districts Hoa Lu, Gia Vien, and Nho Quan of Ninh Binh Province in northern Viet Nam. The heritage property is spread over a large area of 10,000 hectares, and is made up of three individual components within a single buffer zone.
The three components are: (i) the Trang An Ecological Area, (ii) the Tam Coc-Bich Dong River Landscape, and the Hoa Lu Ancient Citadel. The three areas share a common geological and ecological environment characterized by dramatic limestone karsts, permeated with a network of caves, and bound together by flooded inland waterways of high biological diversity. Together these three contiguous areas comprise the core zone of the heritage property.
To the east of the property is the Chanh River, to the north is the Hoang Long River and to the southwest is the Ben Dang River. The north, east and southeast sides comprise vast flat floodplains formed by Day and Van Rivers.
The crust in the Trang An region has a geologic history of 245 million years and includes six strata from of the Triassic and Quaternary Ages. It includes strata of different thickness, which has facilitated karstification and the formation of the area's unique landscape.
The Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex is situated inland on the coastal plain of within the highly eroded limestone block of Hoa Lu, part of the Truong Yen - Bich Dong mountain range. This range comprised of by limestone karst peaks of high fragmentation forming low mountains separated by valley floors composed of sedimentary rock, where shales predominate. These valley floors are characterized by a long process of denudation, erosion, and surface runoff which has accumulated as a mixture of aluvi - deluvi - proluvi.

Tràng An is a scenic area near Ninh Bình, Vietnam renowned for its boat cave tours. On 23 June 2014, at the 38th session of the World Heritage Committee in Doha, the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Trang An area has two main types of ecosystems: limestone mountains ecosystems and aquatic ecosystems. The biological diversity of the communities is a major factor that constitutes these two ecosystems. The natural environment is diverse and harmonious between creatures, mountains, caves, water bodies exuding the beauty of the young blue water mixed together into a rare area rare in the world. Trang An belongs to Hoa Lu historical and cultural forest (Hoa Lu special-use forest) was established on May 19, 1995.

The Trang An Tourism Complex in the northern province of Ninh Binh was officially included in the world heritage list on June 23 by the UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee. It includes 47 historical vestiges with many mysterious things, with limestone mountains, valleys and underground river systems. With hundreds of statues, Bai Dinh (Gia Vien, Ninh Binh) is considered one of the biggest Pagoda and has the most statues in Vietnam.
Duration: 8-9 hours
8:30: pick up at the hotel to depart for Ninh Binh province (100km) for day tour of Bai Dinh pagoda & Trang An ecosystem. spend time to visit the Buddha Prayer place in Bai Dinh Pagoda, the biggest pagoda in Vietnam with 500 La Han statues, biggest bronze Buddha statue in Vietnam with 10 meters height, 100 tons weight.
Have lunch at local restaurant with some local special dishes such as Goat meat with elderberry, pork storage vessel.
Continue to visit Trang An Scenic Landscape complex nearby which recently recognized as an UNESCO World natural heritage, get on a rowing boat (small sampan) traveling along the small river with scenic mountain and green fields landscape. Boat takes you to visit cave complex of Trang An: Sang Cave, Toi Cave, Ba Giot Cave, Nau Ruou in mystery and wildness, the scenery of mountain and rivers – Halong on land of Ninh Binh.

Late afternoon, drive back to the hotel in Hanoi.

Me, my boyfriend and two of my friends went traveling around Vietnam for 3 weeks (23.8.-14.9.).
Part 2:
This is our trip to Trang An Landscape Complex that is situated near Ninh Binh. And it is our first adventure after we said goodbye and left my family.
Trang An has a very beautiful landscape, grottoes and some nice temples. It was raining a little, but it was actually better than if there had been a clear sky..it wasn't that unbearably hot like on sunny days. There were quite a lot of stairs, so we still got little sweaty :D. However, right before we went on boats to see grottoes, the rain had stopped. I also guess, that because it was quite late and due to the rain, there weren't any tourists, we were basically the only ones there, which was perfect for us.

Strolling Around Trang An in Ninh Binh, Vietnam
Situated near the southern margin of the Red River Delta, the Trang An Landscape Complex is a spectacular landscape of limestone karst peaks permeated with valleys, many of them partly submerged and surrounded by steep, almost vertical cliffs. Exploration of caves at different altitudes has revealed archaeological traces of human activity over a continuous period of more than 30,000 years. They illustrate the occupation of these mountains by seasonal hunter-gatherers and how they adapted to major climatic and environmental changes, especially the repeated inundation of the landscape by the sea after the last ice age. The story of human occupation continues through the Neolithic and Bronze Ages to the historical era. Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Viet Nam, was strategically established here in the 10th and 11th centuries AD. The property also contains temples, pagodas, paddy-fields and small villages.
