Tsumeb, Namibia - a drive around town - 29th of desember 2016
Tsumeb (Otjiherero name: Okavisume) is a city of 15,000 inhabitants and the largest town in Oshikoto region in northern Namibia. Tsumeb is the gateway to the north of Namibia. It is the closest town to the Etosha National Park. Tsumeb used to be the regional capital of Oshikoto until 2008 when Omuthiya was proclaimed a town and the new capital. The area around Tsumeb forms its own electoral constituency and has a population of 44,113. The town is the site of a deep mine (the lower workings now closed), that in its heyday was known simply as The Tsumeb Mine but has since been renamed the Ongopolo Mine.
Otjikoto Lake | Tsumeb Namibia
Lake Otjikoto is located about 20km outside Tsumeb, Namibia and is declared as a national heritage, The diameter of the lake is 102m, while its depth is undetermined.

I have hours and hours of driving cam video from my trip to the north of Namibia, but this was a quick and easy little video to compile of some of the driving we did around the town of Tsumeb.
Tsumeb Community up in arms against Dundee Precious Metals for employing only foreigners

The Copper Town, Tsumeb, was brought to a standstill on Friday after a huge number of community members protested against what they called foreign labour.
Community members as well as business people are accusing Dundee Precious Metals as well as Murray and Roberts of corruption and acquiring cheap foreign labour.
They claim that almost seventy Indians, were recruited for the building of a new sulphuric acid plant at the smelters whilst hundreds of Namibian's in the town are jobless.

Tsumeb Airport (IATA: TSB, ICAO: FYTM) is an airport serving Tsumeb, a town in the Oshikoto Region of Namibia. The airport is located just east of the town. Tsumeb is the location of a former mining operation and is the closest town to the Etosha National Park.
The airport resides at an elevation of 4,353 feet (1,327 m) above mean sea level. It has one runway designated 12/30 with an asphalt surface measuring 1,470 by 17 metres (4,823 × 56 ft).
