Tumamoc Hill is a natural preserve that is maintained by the University of Arizona and Pima County.
The paved, sloping road gains 600 feet in just 1.5 miles – making it a super steep hike and an intense cardio workout.
The top of the hill is home to many radio, television, and public safety transmitters, as well as a research and education facility.

Seven Falls
Sabino Canyon Recreation Area is one of the most visited natural destinations in the Tucson area, and for those with the stamina and time, Seven Falls is a treat for the senses. The falls are located on the Bear Canyon Trail, about four miles one way from the parking lot/visitors’ center, or nearly two miles from the closest shuttle drop-off point. They are a draw for plants, animals and people, and offer a welcome oasis when there is flowing water in the area.

Romero Pools Hike
I love Catalina State Park! There is always something going on (bird tours, music nights) and many trails to travel. There is a fee to enter the park: $7/vehicle. Public restrooms and vending machines are available. Dogs are allowed in Catalina State Park but only in certain areas. This hike is not dog friendly after Mile 1 of this trail.
This is one of my favorite hikes in Tucson! Especially when the water is flowing. Solid work out. Decent amount of switchbacks. Steep at times. Incredible views and a wonderful diversity of wildlife.

Picacho Peak Hike
Picacho Peak. Was. Amazing.
I've been wanting to do this hike since I moved to Tucson a year and a half ago. 2.7 miles. Rated difficult (and it was). But totally worth it. I hiked it in November during the afternoon. It was still pretty hot, so make sure to bring plenty of water (1-3 L). The hike is dog friendly, but only until the saddle. There are no public restrooms or places to fill up your water bottles. $7.00 fee to enter the park but they do accept Visa and Mastercard credit cards.
This hike was essentially an obstacle course for adults. But in nature. And cheaper than most. If you love adventure, you should definitely plan to hike this.

Desert Hike To Old Tucson
This hike starts out in the back of the Desert Trails RV park in Tucson, Arizona on BLM land, then through part of the Tucson Mountain Park. The 8½ mile hike is flat and winds through some beautiful desert areas filled with several varieties of cacti and surrounded with great mountain views.
Old Tucson was a movie studio that is now an entertainment park. We didn't go through the park proper we just hiked through a small part of it that has a mock up of an old west town.
Golden Gate mountain is prominent during many parts of this hike and we climbed it shortly after we did this hike.
