KAMPUNG LOKOMOTIF i sebutan bagi kampung DUPAK MAGERSARI. Nama DUPAK MAGERSARI bukanlah nama yang asing Untuk warga Surabaya yang sudah lama menetap di Ibu Kota provinsi Jawa Timur ini, kereta memang masih seringkali lewat di antara lapak-lapak pedagang pasar pada waktu yang tak pasti jadwalnya. Hanya saja, kereta api yang lewat bukanlah kereta penumpang melainkan kereta barang serta kereta yang butuh melakukan perawatan di stasiun Sidotopo.
Konon, pasar ini sudah ada sekitar tahun 1970-an dan hingga saat ini baru 2 kali mengalami penggusuran bahkan tak luput dari ancaman akan di musnahkan. Namun, hingga saat ini Pasar “Rel” Magersari masih berdiri di samping Pasar Turi yang telah terbakar. Hanya saja, setelah 2 kali terjadi penggusuran pihak berwajib akhirnya membuat perjanjian dengan para pedagang di pasar maut ini. Persetujuannya adalah apabila terjadi kecelakaan maupun musibah yang terjadi akibat lokasi pasar yang berbahaya , maka pihak berwajib tak akan segan-segan untuk menutup pasar maut tersebut.
Namun dibandingkan dengan pasar serupa yang ada di Thailand, pasar ini lebih memacu adrenalin dan lebih ekstrem daripada pasar rel milik Thailand.
