Time Lapse - Country Fair at Tweetsie Railroad in Blowing Rock, NC
A few weeks ago we went to Tweetsie Railroad. During a hike to the top we stopped at a picnic table to take a break and I setup my camera to capture the hordes of people riding the rides at the Country Fair section of Tweetsie Railroad. You can see the chairlifts as well and everyone hurrying around. I have footage of people boarding the train and also from the train ride that I have to edit and upload.. so if you like Tweetsie's.. make sure to subscribe..

Tweetsie Railroad: Railfanning Tweetsie #12 Baldwin 4-6-0
Here in Blowing Rock, NC, we are at the Tweetsie Railroad! One of the last Narrow-Gauge lines left in the United States which to this day holds and maintains the last locomotive from the East Tennessee & Western North Carolina Railroad, Tweetsie Locomotive #12. The locomotive is a Baldwin built 4-6-0 used for the Narrow-Gauge railway operating from 1866 to 1940. The engine itself was one of many others used on the line up unit 1940. Later on, around 1955, locomotive #12 was sold to The Tweetsie Railroad. Fast forward to today (10/20/18), on this cold and rainy morning, we see her pulling the regular passenger train through the park and through the Mountains with the sound of her amazing Baldwin 3 Chime whistle echoing into the Blue Ridge Mountains. Each of these scenes were taken around the park including locations at Deadhorse Trestle & Tweetsie Junction. Not all these scenes were shot in order but each one of them shows just how great this little engine was in her glory days! This was my very first time ever visiting this railroad and I was certainly fascinated in the history surrounding this locomotive. And for railfans interested in 3ft narrow gauge railroads, I highly recommend visiting this railroad. As always, enjoy!

This beautiful historic home was appropriately named San Souci, French for Without a Care. Generous living spaces, mountain views and a tranquil setting in the woods certainly exude a peaceful state of mind. The home is full of history, stories and charm! Before the addition in 2005, the home was a cottage. In 1910, it was deeded to Miss Ettie Brown, a French Teacher at Flora McDonald College.

Highway 321 Lenoir, NC to Boone, NC
Took a trip to North Carolina over the weekend. This is from Lenoir, NC to Boone, NC. The road is U.S. Highway 321 North. Traffic is pretty heavy between Lenoir and Boone. Especially with several events that was taking place in both towns.
Boone, NC is home of Appalachian State University. Along with the college Boone has several tourist attractions like Tweetsie Railroad along with many stores and restaurants. One of the best restaurants in Boone is the Daniel Boone Inn. Family style dining and mouth watering food. If you have never been I would suggest that you try the Daniel Boone Inn. They are located just a couple blocks from ASU. Also the scenery is breath taking when going across the mountain.

Kid's first roller coaster ride on Tweetsie Railroad's Tilt-A-Whirl!
A couple years ago our guys got to ride a roller coaster for the first time ever. It was Tweetsie Railroad's Tilt-A-Whirl in Blowing Rock, North Carolina. As you can see from the video they loved it, even if a few of the turns made them cringe. The ride had just enough speed, spin, and sickness!
