Final Four Guide: Best Breweries To Visit While You’re In Minneapolis
Beer-lovers visiting Minneapolis for the Final Four won’t have to go far to find Minnesota’s most beloved beers. Walk in any direction out of U.S. Bank Stadium and you’ll probably find a bar or a restaurant serving beloved craft beers from the Twin Cities, the North Shore and other parts of “The Land of 10,000 Beers.” But for out-of-town hopheads seeking a more direct experience of the state’s brewing culture, there are a few places that should be on your radar, because they’re well worth the Ly...

Minneapolis Northwest comes alive in autumn
Fall is an awesome time to explore Minneapolis Northwest, on the outskirts of the Twin Cities. Summer’s heat is happily gone and the region comes alive with fall colors and outdoor activities.
Elm Creek Park reserve—at 4,900 acres—is the largest park in the area and has miles and miles of mixed use trails, a brilliantly designed playground area, and the best dog park according to USA Today. There are multiple championship golf courses in the area, and there’s still time to hit the links before the greens go to sleep for the winter.
The Twin Cities Harvest Festival, open through October, has festivities for every age and the largest corn maze in all of Minnesota—the thing is massive. Finally, take a moment to chill after a long day outdoors with a solar-powered brew and tasty cuisine.

Hey there!
I am excited to share with you my experience in Minneapolis. I had spent a short weekend in Minneapolis and I quickly learned that wasn’t enough time. As an East Coast girl, I really wasn’t too sure what to expect from the Midwest. I was taken by surprise by how amazing the community was. The statement holds true that midwesterners are as friendly as they come.
I had an awesome experience riding my bike through the various areas of the city like along the Stone Arch Bridge into Gold Medal Park. I had a fabulous stay at the AC Hotel in the West End of Minneapolis. It is brand new and in a part of town I don’t think I would have normally ventured too. The West End has a real locals vibe, you can tell they love their little section away from the downtown area. I indulged in good eats and plenty of awesome drink, of course, I had beer, at the Dangerous Man Brewery.
The city vibe was amazing and I’m happy to shine light on it. Most may look at Minnesota as a “fly over state,” but I beg to differ. You should definitely give it a chance, I know I will be back for sure.
Big shout out to Meet Minneapolis for all the amazing tips on what to experience, they provided a lot of great advice.
Have you been to Minneapolis? What was your favorite experience?

Minnesota Drive In Minute
2010RoadTripUSA. Part 56. Minnesota Drive In Minute. September 2010. Music by Raymond Scott.
Taylors Falls is a city in Chisago County, Minnesota, United States, located at the junction of U.S. Route 8 and Minnesota State Highway 95. The population was 1011 at the 2005 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.0 square miles (10.4 km²), of which, 3.7 square miles (9.6 km²) of it is land and 0.3 square miles (0.8 km²) of it (7.69%) is water.
Taylors Falls is located adjacent to St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin at the Dalles of the St. Croix River, an area of forested bluffs and high cliffs. The first interstate state park in the United States, aptly named Interstate Park, was jointly founded by the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin in 1895 and straddles the border of the two states immediately south of the city.(wikipedia)
The Drive-In Restaurant, located on Bench Street in Taylor's Falls, will be celebrating its 53rd anniversary this summer. The Drive-In nurtures fond memories of that golden era, with carhops, 50's music, root beer in frosted mugs, and good old-fashioned hamburgers.
When Allan Anderson opened his Drive-Inn on July 5, 1956, James Dean was starring in the 50's classic Rebel Without a Cause at the St. Croix Auditorium Theatre. A Drive-Inn restaurant was a new concept and the idea was intriguing for the Anderson's, who were intent on making it a family business.
When the Drive-Inn first opened, customers were not quite sure what to do! It wasn't long before they learned where to park their cars and how to order from the carhops. Inside workers poured the root beer into glass mugs while cooks fried the hamburgers. A small root beer cost 5¢, a large 10¢ and hamburgers were 25¢.
The large rotating root beer mug sign was installed in 1963. It was purchased from a Hastings Frostop Drive-In that had gone out of business. The giant classic rotating mug still greets guests today!
The Drive-In was closed for a year in 1987 and purchased by the sister and brother team of Gail and Wade Vitalis in 1988. This new family breathed life into the Drive-In, re-making it as The Drive-In Restaurant with a theme which reflected the 50's era. Customers were once again greeted by carhops wearing poodle skirts while 50s music played in the back ground. Guests could drink ice cold root beer from a frosty cold mug and get hand-packed burgers on fresh bakery buns.
In 1993, Wade and his wife, Carol Vitalis bought The Drive-In Restaurant and added an 18-hole adventure mini-golf course featuring waterfalls, ponds and challenging multi-level holes. It was named Adventure Falls Mini-Golf. A club house was added to the Adventure Falls mini-golf site. The buildings siding and interior was constructed entirely from recycled barn wood.
Wade and Carol Vitalis and their three kids still operate the family business in much the same fashion the Anderson family did in 1956. It is a very popular destination for families looking to eat great food, do some mini-golfing and enjoy the St. Croix River.
The greater than life American experience of eating in your car, being waited on by a car hop and drinking homemade root beer still lives on at the Drive-In Restaurant in Taylor's Falls. Our family invites your family to be a part of this history!(taylorsfalls)

WBBA 2015 Crash Course Week Full Overview
Crash Course was an un-conference (of sorts) highlighting all things West Bank.
Crash Course was an introductory crash course into Minneapolis’ coolest neighborhood! We had workshops and events throughout the week including a variety show, craft beer tasting, sambusa-making session, neighborhood tours and more.
Hosted by the West Bank Business Association and The Southern Theater, the event was a week-long fundraiser, with proceeds going to support local West Bank nonprofits.
