Split Rock Lighthouse, Two Harbors, MN
I visited the Split Rock Lighthouse in Two Harbors, Minnesota, which is along the north shore. I went there on November 10, 2016,
which is the 41st anniversary of the sinking of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald. The weather was absolutely gorgeous.
Every year on November 10th, the Split Rock Lighthouse commemorates the sinking of the freighter SS Edmund Fitzgerald. The names of the crew members are read and the bell is rung as each name is read, and then the beacon is lit. This is the only time of year where they allow visitors to go inside the lighthouse when the beacon is lit.
Note: the little green dot floating around is lens flare, and it's annoying. Oh well.

Diving the Breakwall in Two Harbors, MN 10 8 2016
This is the break-wall in Two Harbors, MN about 150' North of a shipwreck called the Samuel P. Ely. We have never explored the area around the wreck in the past, but we found out it's worth the short swim away from the wreck. Most of the break-wall is large rocks, sheet piling, and concrete, but this area was large wood timbers with a few swim through's. There wasn't much for fish in the area except for a school of small minnows.

Samuel P Ely Shipwreck Two Harbors, MN 10 7 2016
The Samuel P. Ely was a schooner that was built in 1869 and sank in 1896 at Two Harbors, MN. The Ely was being towed into Two Harbors by a ship called the Hesper. The Hesper survived the storm that night but sank 8 years later at Silver Bay, Mn. The Ely wreck is a good dive in itself, but being it is just inside the breakwall it is a good optional dive site when the lake won't let you out to the other wrecks.

Ely Shipwreck August 2015
My dive buddy Nate and I went to Lake Superior to dive the Samuel P Ely shipwreck in Two harbors, Minnesota. The arial footage is of Split Rock Lighthouse and Silver Bay over the Hesper shipwreck. We had boat motor issues, a flat tire, I broke a finstrap... But it was fun, thats all that matters.
