The unique humanistic teaching at Hualiens Tzu Chi University in Taiwan has drawn many international students to study there. The school also has a cultural exchange program with Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. The presence of international students on campus has helped broaden local students perspective.

Much to one’s surprise, it is surrounded by magnificent mountains and rivers.
Its dormitory accommodations are supplied with water, electricity, and the Internet. A carefully prepared all-you-can-eat lunch and dinner is also provided.
Everything students expect to find in our swimming pool and fitness center is provided for their leisure time.
Studying at the international campus with its advantages and characteristics develops our students’s characters while preparing them for the world.

CORNELL IN TAIWAN: DAY 1 IN HUALIAN WITH TZU CHI
Cornell's first cohort of students to Hualian for a culture and service learning trip with the Tzu Chi Foundation based here in Hualian, Taiwan. Here's day one in which we participated in a tea ceremony, flower arranging class, and discussion on Tzu Chi's disaster relief efforts internationally. Lots to learn from this organization that I look forward to sharing with you!

Next, students of the Nursing Department at Tzu Chi University of Science and Technology took the opportunity to spend their summer in Malaysia to gain more medical experience.
20170413【Humanistic Culture】Dorm Cleanup For Overseas Tzu Chi Family
To accommodate all the overseas volunteers who were staying at the Jing Si Abode in Hualien, a group of Tzu Chi volunteers from Yilan shouldered the responsibility of ensuring their comfort. Each day, the volunteer tidied up the dormitory with joy, as they offer a comfortable sleeping quarter for their overseas family.

Since 1991, Tzu Chi USA has conducted annual scholarship award programs to high school graduates from low income families. Over 2000 recipients have received this scholarship. This June, 61 scholarships were awarded to the students from the Southern California area. The scholarship recipients and the 171 guests were invited to visit our Tzu Chi U.S. headquarters. One of them was last year's recipient, Juan Gonzalez. He shared his life experience on stage with the audience. Since Juan received the scholarship, he has been participating in many care recipient's visits and relief activities, accompanied by senior Tzu Chi volunteers. Through these free clinic support and relief goods distributions, he understood the real meaning behind the saying: Only by realizing the truth of suffering, can one understand his own blessings. He altered the outlook of his own life, learned to cherish what he owned and to always be grateful. Today, we will see how young Juan joined and participated in Tzu Chi activities.

【Tzu Chi50】Being A Nurse Is Not Easy
To help bring quality medical care to eastern Taiwan, the Tzu Chi Foundation built the Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital 30 years ago. However, shortage of staff was always a problem. Also, due to underdevelopment, young people in eastern Taiwan had few opportunities in terms of getting an education or finding a job in the area. To tackle all these problems, Tzu Chi decided to open up a nursing school and then subsequently a college of medicine to train nurses and doctors. Now, the nursing school has become the Tzu Chi University of Science and Technology, while the college of medicine has become the Tzu Chi University.

Student ambassadors of Tzu Chi University of Science and Technology are now in Malaysia and Singapore giving performances of children’s dramas. Their first show was at the Penang Jing Si Hall.
【Tzu Chi50】Patients Believe In Tzu Chi Doctors
When the Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital first opened 30 years ago, it had trouble recruiting doctors. Though supported by the National Taiwan University Hospital’s co-op program, the hospital still needed to have its own doctors. Thankfully, Dr. Chen Ying-he who just completed his training at NTUH volunteered himself. Soon 11 more of NTUH’s brightest young doctors also came onboard. Thanks to the sacrifice made by these doctors, people living in eastern Taiwan can now have access to quality medical care.

20160610【Humanistic Culture】Tzu Chi In Malaysia Production Team Meeting
The TV program ＂Tzu Chi in Malaysia＂ has been running for five years. Each year, production teams from four locations in Malaysia gather together for a meeting to share their experiences. Da Ai TV deputy CEO Zhang Zunyu (張尊昱) has been leading a group of Da Ai TV staff in Taiwan to join the meeting every year. At this year’s meeting, Mr. Zhang expressed his gratitude for the production team’s hard work and dedication.
