U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Ingham Maritime Museum - Key West, Florida
The USCG Ingham is a large ship that has been decommissioned and made into a maritime museum. It is a large time capsule which still has everything including old equipment, furniture, beds and even a barber shop! It was wonderful to see how people operated many years ago. The Ingham was put to use during Vietnam War and during the Cuban Crisis. There is a self guided tour and audio plays through strategically placed speakers in various places. You can walk through the ship and look at various places like the kitchen, Captain's room, bunker beds, etc although you can only look through the glass windows into most of the areas. This attraction is definitely one of the top 10 things to do in Key West, and if you are a history buff, it could be the best thing in Key West for you.

U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Ingham museum - Key West, Florida
The next time you're in Key West you HAVE to take the time to tour the USCG Cutter - Ingham. According to Wikipedia, “USCGC Ingham (WHEC-35) is one of only two preserved Treasury-class United States Coast Guard Cutters. Originally commissioned Samuel D. Ingham, she was the fourth cutter to be named for Treasury Secretary Samuel D. Ingham. She was the most decorated vessel in the Coast Guard fleet and was the only cutter to ever be awarded two Presidential Unit Citations.”
This is a MUST DO if you visit Key West, Florida. Tour the cutter, meet the men who have worked for years to preserve it and appreciate its history.
