Adventure biker Jolandie Rust on Top Billing
To all you guys who think a girl’s place on a bike is behind you, meet Jolandie Rust. This lady circumnavigated Africa on a motorbike, alone, and this week she’s the one showing the guys how it’s done.
The adventure bug bit a decade ago when Jolandie and a friend cycled the semi desert of Israel whilst working on a kibbutz. She soon realized the nine to five life just wasn’t for her. She first got on a motorbike in 2011 and took to it like a duck to water.
The bike skills she’s learned have now earned her the honour of first ever internationally accredited female off-road instructor in Africa, so Jonathan could have no better teacher.
Her next goal is to be the first woman from Africa to take part in the world's toughest rally – the Dakar Rally
Meet this power woman of note this Thursday on Top Billing at 7:30pm on SABC3.
