Cops ‘Flip a Coin’ to Decide Whether They’ll Arrest Driver
A young Georgia woman was pulled over for allegedly speeding, and police decided whether to give her a ticket or not by flipping a coin. Hairdresser Sarah Webb, 24, doesn't deny she was speeding, but the officer was relentless. So you think driving that fast on a wet road is a smart idea just because you're late for work instead of calling and saying you're running late for work,” the cop said. Sarah was on the verge of tears and her voice quivered as she said she was sorry.
Introducing the self-driving bicycle in the Netherlands
This spring, Google is introducing the self-driving bicycle in Amsterdam, the world’s premier cycling city. The Dutch cycle more than any other nation in the world, almost 900 kilometres per year per person, amounting to over 15 billion kilometres annually. The self-driving bicycle enables safe navigation through the city for Amsterdam residents, and furthers Google’s ambition to improve urban mobility with technology. Google Netherlands takes enormous pride in the fact that a Dutch team worked on this innovation that will have great impact in their home country.

During Prohibition, the company produced near beer known as Leino as well as soda water. The company expanded from its local roots in the 1970s, introducing a light beer.Miller Brewing Company, now a subsidiary of SABMiller, bought the company in 1988.
On March 28, 2006, the company introduced Sunset Wheat beer, brewed with wheat, hops, and coriander. Summer Shandy, a seasonal mix of wheat beer and lemonade, was introduced in 2007. The 10th Street Brewery, opened in 1986 by G. Heileman Brewing Company for the Blatz label, was purchased by Leinenkugel in 1995. It produces Leinenkugel's Big Eddy ale line, a series of seasonal, high ABV beers.

34 family members arrested in drug bust; $400k in cocaine seized
ELYRIA, Ohio - Elyria Police, Lorain Police and the Lorain County Sheriff's Department arrested 34 people—all related to each other in some way—in connection with $400,000 of cocaine seized.
The investigation started last year and ramped up in the past two months, culminating in the arrests Friday, March 13 and Monday, March 16, investigators said during a press conference Wednesday.
Authorities seized 3.4 kilos of cocaine, worth $400,000, five guns and $85,000 in cash.
The leaders of what's been dubbed the Burns, Milton and Tillman Drug Trafficking Organization by authorities are Jarvis Burns, 33, of Sheffield Lake, who paid for the cocaine, and his cousin Travis Milton, 32, of Elyria, who orchestrated large-scale buys from two dealers in Cleveland.
The large-scale transactions were at Burns' and Milton's grandmother Grace Milton's home on Tattersal Court in Elyria.
They bought $43,000 of cocaine from Christopher Craig, 43 and Bernard Washington, 44, both of Cleveland, investigators said.

Gary Slutkin: Let's treat violence like a contagious disease
Physician Gary Slutkin spent a decade fighting tuberculosis, cholera and AIDS epidemics in Africa. When he returned to the United States, he thought he'd escape brutal epidemic deaths. But then he began to look more carefully at gun violence, noting that its spread followed the patterns of infectious diseases. A mind-flipping look at a problem that too many communities have accepted as a given. We've reversed the impact of so many diseases, says Slutkin, and we can do the same with violence. Security Guard Criticized for Ignoring Officer’s Pleas for Help During Arrest
A security guard who apparently witnessed police officers in Texas struggle to arrest a suspect chose to record the incident on her cellphone instead of help the officers get the situation under control. Two Houston cops were in a serious struggle with a suspect who appeared to be resisting arrest at a gas station. Several bystanders recorded the incident with their cellphones, including the security guard working at the station. “Stop f***ing taping and help me,” a cop appears to say to her.
Man Cuts Off His 5 Year Old Sisters Head in Front Of Police
Kerby Revelus, 23, fatally stabbed his 17-year-old sister and chopped his 5-year-old sister head in front of a police officer and then turned to his 9-year-old sister with a knife before officers shot him dead.Neighbors and friends said Kerby Revelus seemed confused after returning home several months ago from time in jail.A neighbor, Abdul Kamara, noticed Revelus walking down Belvoir Street as people headed to work, talking nonsensically and taking swigs from a bottle in a brown bag. Kerby talk cryptically about God's purpose for him but other times acted hostile.
Sometimes he was friendly, and sometimes he would just lose it, said Kamara, 24. Ever since he came out [of jail] the second time, he wasn't the same.
More details came out about Kerby Revelus, 23, who had been depressed because his criminal record kept him from finding a job.
Revelus stabbed two of his sisters to death and attacked a third sister in their Massachusets family home late Saturday afternoon.
Police received a call of a domestic disturbance at the Revelus home, and officers arrived at the house in less than a minute.
Police kicked in an upstairs door, only to watch Revelus, armed with a kitchen knife, grab his 5-year-old sister, Bianca, and cut off her head. Kerby then went to the bedroom and turned the knife on 9-year-old Saraphina and began stabbing her. A third sister, 17-year-old Samantha, already had been stabbed to death in the same room.
Phone tapes recorded the arrival of police on the second floor and officers ordering Kerby Revelus to Stop! and Get down!
Kerby Revelus didn't listen. It was like the officers weren't even there, he said.
Police shot Kerby Revelus dead and one of the officers rushed Saraphina out of the house. She was taken to Boston Medical Center with multiple stab wounds. Police said yesterday that she was recovering and with her parents. Police attempts to resuscitate Samantha were unsuccessful.
So what in the world prompted such violence?
On Friday, the family had been celebrating the youngest girl's 5th birthday. Later the same night, Kerby Revelus got into a fistfight with a neighbor. Investigators are trying to determine why, Wells said, but the dispute somehow triggered the violent attack on his sisters Saturday.
We don't know the reasons for the fight, Wells said yesterday. I'm just not sure and the only eyewitness left is the 9-year-old girl.
Five officers have been placed on paid leave, Wells said, and have received counseling for stress and trauma. The officer who witnessed the attack on Bianca was a 10-year veteran of the department. Another officer is a rookie who has been with the department six months.
Revelus had at least two prior gun charges. In 2005, he allegedly showed a gun clip in an attempt to intimidate a package store clerk in Randolph who refused to serve him. In 2007, he was arrested with two other men in a car on Hebron Street in Boston and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and unlawful possession of a loaded firearm.
You Bet Your Life: Secret Word - Street / Hand / Picture
Julius Henry Groucho Marx (October 2, 1890 -- August 19, 1977) was an American comedian and film and television star. He is known as a master of quick wit and widely considered one of the best comedians of the modern era. His rapid-fire, often impromptu delivery of innuendo-laden patter earned him many admirers and imitators. He made 13 feature films with his siblings the Marx Brothers, of whom he was the third-born. He also had a successful solo career, most notably as the host of the radio and television game show You Bet Your Life. His distinctive appearance, carried over from his days in vaudeville, included quirks such as an exaggerated stooped posture, glasses, cigar, and a thick greasepaint mustache and eyebrows. These exaggerated features resulted in the creation of one of the world's most ubiquitous and recognizable novelty disguises, known as Groucho glasses, a one-piece mask consisting of horn-rimmed glasses, large plastic nose, bushy eyebrows and mustache.
Groucho Marx was, and is, the most recognizable and well-known of the Marx Brothers. Groucho-like characters and references have appeared in popular culture both during and after his life, some aimed at audiences who may never have seen a Marx Brothers movie. Groucho's trademark eye glasses, nose, mustache, and cigar have become icons of comedy—glasses with fake noses and mustaches (referred to as Groucho glasses, nose-glasses, and other names) are sold by novelty and costume shops around the world.
Nat Perrin, close friend of Groucho Marx and writer of several Marx Brothers films, inspired John Astin's portrayal of Gomez Addams on the 1960s TV series The Addams Family with similarly thick mustache, eyebrows, sardonic remarks, backward logic, and ever-present cigar (pulled from his breast pocket already lit).
Alan Alda often vamped in the manner of Groucho on M*A*S*H. In one episode, Yankee Doodle Doctor, Hawkeye and Trapper put on a Marx Brothers act at the 4077, with Hawkeye playing Groucho and Trapper playing Harpo. In three other episodes, a character appeared who was named Captain Calvin Spalding (played by Loudon Wainwright III). Groucho's character in Animal Crackers was Captain Geoffrey T. Spaulding.
On many occasions, on the 1970s television sitcom All In The Family, Michael Stivic (Rob Reiner), would briefly imitate Groucho Marx and his mannerisms.
Two albums by British rock band Queen, A Night at the Opera (1975) and A Day at the Races (1976), are named after Marx Brothers films. In March 1977, Groucho invited Queen to visit him in his Los Angeles home; there they performed '39 a capella. A long-running ad campaign for Vlasic Pickles features an animated stork that imitates Groucho's mannerisms and voice. On the famous Hollywood Sign in California, one of the Os is dedicated to Groucho. Alice Cooper contributed over $27,000 to remodel the sign, in memory of his friend.
In 1982, Gabe Kaplan portrayed Marx in the film Groucho, in a one-man stage production. He also imitated Marx occasionally on his previous TV sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter.
Actor Frank Ferrante has performed as Groucho Marx on stage for more than two decades. He continues to tour under rights granted by the Marx family in a one-man show entitled An Evening With Groucho in theaters throughout the United States and Canada with piano accompanist Jim Furmston. In the late 1980s Ferrante starred as Groucho in the off-Broadway and London show Groucho: A Life in Revue penned by Groucho's son Arthur. Ferrante portrayed the comedian from age 15 to 85. The show was later filmed for PBS in 2001. Woody Allen's 1996 musical Everyone Says I Love You, in addition to being named for one of Groucho's signature songs, ends with a Groucho-themed New Year's Eve party in Paris, which some of the stars, including Allen and Goldie Hawn, attend in full Groucho costume. The highlight of the scene is an ensemble song-and-dance performance of Hooray for Captain Spaulding—done entirely in French.
In the last of the Tintin comics, Tintin and the Picaros, a balloon shaped like the face of Groucho could be seen in the Annual Carnival.
In the Italian horror comic Dylan Dog, the protagonist's sidekick is a Groucho impersonator whose character became his permanent personality.
The BBC remade the radio sitcom Flywheel, Shyster and Flywheel, with contemporary actors playing the parts of the original cast. The series was repeated on digital radio station BBC7. Scottish playwright Louise Oliver wrote a play named Waiting For Groucho about Chico and Harpo waiting for Groucho to turn up for the filming of their last project together. This was performed by Glasgow theatre company Rhymes with Purple Productions at the Edinburgh Fringe and in Glasgow and Hamilton in 2007-08. Groucho was played by Scottish actor Frodo McDaniel.
