Original Country Donuts: New Favorite Donut – FOUND!
Hey guys! We are in Elgin, IL and we are hungry! We are at the Original Country Donuts checking out their selection. They state that they have been in business, serving the community for over 30 years and we understand their longevity. We get to try some not-so-ordinary flavors, so check it out!
Parking: Original Country Donuts has a designated lot.
Worth a Visit: If you are in the area, we recommend supporting this local business. Look, we usually “Run on Dunkin,” but Dunkin Donuts doesn’t have a Cherry Cake and/or a Chocolate Mint donuts! The Original Country Donut also has cookies, muffins, and breakfast sandwiches. They have a Drive-Thru and are open 24/7! The Original Country Donuts is located at 3091 US Highway 20 in Elgin, IL.

Tastebud Tours : Chicago World’s Fair Food Tour
Join Tastebud Tours Chicago on their World’s Fair & 1893 Columbian Exposition Food Tour!!!!
Come one, come all to the original 1893 World’s Fair Food Tour, lead by none other than Bertha Honore Palmer! Bertha will whisk you back in time to May 1, 1893, when the Chicago World’s Fair opened in Jackson Park. Nearly 27 million people came to the fairgrounds to experience a showcase of more than 65,000 exhibits, including everything from advanced technology, plants, art, entertainment and – most importantly – food! Try several of the city’s debut favorites while “Chicago’s Gold Coast Queen,” Bertha Palmer, entertains you with her favorite delicious memories of the great 1893 Columbian Exposition.
Chicago World’s Fair Food Stops:
Private Cliff Dwellers Club
Begin your original World’s Fair tour with a breathtaking view of the city of Chicago when you meet Bertha Palmer at this artistic club, whose historic members include Daniel Burnham and Frank Lloyd Wright, among others. As Bertha’s guest at the Club, you will be served a delicious meal and dessert choice of the famous Burnham pie while enjoying aerial views of Grant Park, Millennium Park, and Lake Michigan.
Goddess and the Baker
Enjoy a delicious chocolate dessert created specifically for a special luncheon hosted by Bertha Palmer at the Women’s Pavilion at the Columbian Exposition.
The Berghoff
The Century Room located within the Berghoff is the perfect setting for the 1893 World’s Fair Food Tour, and you’ll see why once you arrive. Savor one of Herman Berghoff’s fair favorites.
Chicago Kernel
A fair favorite popcorn snack will be served in this underground network of walkways. This delicious treat is handmade specifically for Tastebud Food Tours.
The Pittsfield Building
Enjoy a frankfurter (but NOT any ordinary frankfurter), which debuted at the fair, in this Spanish Gothic Revival building with its trademark interior lobby and atrium, surrounded by balconies and shop windows on all sides.
The Ultimate Local’s Guide to Chicago || Gatekeepers
Next stop: The windy city of Chicago with gatekeeper Vic Lloyd, one of the founders of a local streetwear shop in the city. From chowing down on some incredible burgers, to cracking the code to enter a speakeasy-like magic lounge, to grabbing a beer and playing a quick game of curling, this is a Chicago experience you can't find in a typical brochure.
In every city there’s someone who’s connected, who knows where to go on a slow Monday night and can get a table anywhere they want on a Friday - in every city there’s a Gatekeeper. In this Thrillist travel show, we’re sending our host across the country to meet up with these Gatekeepers and experience first hand everything you should make sure to do/eat/drink, one city at a time.

BCBS Building Chicago - V. Expansion Update till 3/10 2008
Here I present you a video of the Vertical Expansion of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Building in Chicago. 25 floors will be added to the existing building.
The Blue Cross Blue Shield Tower (BCBS) is located on the north end of Grant Park along E. Randolph St. at the NE corner of Randolph and Columbus, in Chicago, United States of America.
The building's address is 300 E. Randolph. The building is located next to the Aon Center and original plans hoped to connect the two buildings via an underground pedway but the plans never came to fruition.
BCBS was originally designed to allow for many more floors to be built later as market conditions warrant and indeed in the center of the building you can see a large open space where more elevators can be inserted into the building to accommodate additional floors.
The building was completed in 1997 and the large expanse of windows facing Grant Park are often used to spell out words to commemorate or celebrate events and happenings in Chicago. There is a Subway eatery and a Dunkin Donuts in the basement.
In 2006 the City of Chicago granted a building permit to Health Care Service Corporation dba Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois to build up instead of out; once completed (planned for 2010) the new tower will be 57 stories and will be the first project in Chicago to build up. Over 2,000 employees were moved because of the construction. As of December 2007, a construction crane can be seen on the roof of the building to facilitate with the expansion.

The Best Milkshake Ever: Fuck, That's Delicious (Episode 1)
Subscribe to Munchies here:
The long awaited, and much anticipated, show dealing with the often rapped about dining habits of our favorite rapper, Action Bronson, is finally upon us. In the premier episode of Fuck, That's Delicious, we hear from our host about what he has been up to while on tour earlier this year. This naturally involves a combination of swan diving off yachts while at least three types of meat are being prepared, finding South Africa's best mixed grill, and taking us to his favorite ice cream parlor in Queens, New York. Stayed tuned for new episodes every month.
