final scene : Auditorium of UFO, University of Gent
opening ceremony for the symposium Work & Democracy

For the reactivation of the performance Augenmusik (Paris, 2016) twelve artists, poets, writers or whatever individuals will silently walk from twelve different itineraries through of the city of Gent. They will converge in the main auditorium of the University of Gent (UFO) as an opening ceremony for the symposium “Work & Democracy”
Police emergency light, a strong signifier of state power and a signal of danger, is given into hands of an individual that holds it as a voice and responsibility. Weaving their pass alone but simultaneously all over the city, the performers create an alternative kind of public assembly. Through the ritual walking they transform topography into space of enunciation. The performance attempts for a poetic transformation of the status quo putting in tension political strength and means for individual liberation in specific socio-political context.
Performers: Moj Bahadori, Walter Van Dam, Charlotte Demarquet, yOni.
