Blue Tears - Patricia Carr Morgan's exhibition at Tucson Museum of Art
An in-depth look at local photographer Patricia Carr Morgan’s exhibition 'Blue Tears' at the Tucson Museum of Art. The installation features seventeen-foot-tall translucent panels with images captured on Morgan’s travels to Antarctica and Greenland. One by one, they are slowly detached from the ceiling over the course of the show, falling to the floor in mounds of silk.
'Blue Tears' runs through April 21, 2019 at TMA.

University of Arizona Poetry Center
The University of Arizona Poetry Center is located in one of three new landmark buildings in the nation for the celebration and study of poetry. The Poetry Center houses 70,000 items of contemporary poetry in its open-access library collection, including a unique digital collection of recorded readings dating back to 1960's. A leading national literary arts destination, the Poetry Center offers exhibitions, a Reading and Lecture Series, classes and workshops, discussion groups, and award-winning K-12 and family programs. Docent-led tours are available Saturdays from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. See our website for information on current programs.
The Other Desert Museum
When people hear about the “desert museum” in the Tucson area, they usually think of the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, but southern Arizona also has the “Tucson Desert Art Museum.” It is a nonprofit organization that opened in 2013 with more than 20,000 square feet of of space for exhibits, classes and other activities. It has a large collection of Navajo and Hopi textiles and blankets, and paintings from renowned artists. It was established by the founder of Tucson Lifestyle magazine which was started by Jim Conley Jr 35 years ago from his garage.

American Treasures at Arizona State Museum
The photographic collection at Arizona State Museum has been designated an American Treasure, a status underscoring the importance of one of the nation’s unparalleled collection of anthropological photographic materials. ASM’s collection documents human ingenuity and cultural traditions in what is now the U.S. Southwest and northern Mexico from 13,000 years ago to the present.

UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA 1940s CAMPUS TOUR (SILENT FILM) TUCSON ARIZONA 60304
Rescued after it was thrown away by the University of Arizona, this silent 16mm film gives a tour of the campus. It likely dates to about 1940. At :48 the area to the west of Old Main is shown, with the camera panning towards Old Main at 1:05. Bear Down gym can be seen in the distance. At 1:12 a lot of grass can be seen on campus. At 1:30 the Arizona State Museum is shown and the nearby auditorium. At 2:18 graduation ceremonies are shown. At 2:40 the College of Law is shown and the Library at 3:15. At 3:45 co-eds sit on the steps of a building. At 5:00 the Old Main building is shown, the heart of the campus. At 5:50 the College of Mines and Engineering is shown. At 6:19 the Women's Dorms are shown, with students shown at 8:00. At 8:40 students, along with a student of professor wearing a tie, examine a pond. The College of Liberal Arts is shown at 9:25 followed by the Humanities and Physics buildings. At 10:14 the administration buildings of the university are shown. At 10:50 the cactus garden. At 12:13 the Women's Gym is shown, and at 12:30 a wide shot shows the school's observatory (now behind Flandrau Planetarium). The observatory is shown again at 13:00. At 12:44 students go for a swim in a pool, possibly on campus but could also be at the nearby Arizona Inn. The school infirmary is shown at 13:25, followed by the Men's Gym or Bear Down Gym as it became known at 13:40. Finally the film shows the football stadium at 14:00 and a wide shot of Tucson and A Mountain at 14:30.
