Kayak NJ Day 2 Upper Delaware River Trip 070918
Kayak NJ Soaring Eagle Campground to Callicoon
Day 2 of our upper Delaware River trip. Started at camp with a fawn feeding across the river. Another perfect day on the water...not a cloud in the sky. Eagles were every where along the river...many immatures. Hit some nice riffles along our route as well.
After a long day on the water we had a relaxing evening back at camp around the fire.

Ten Top Scenic Drives In America: Old Mine Road, Delaware Water Gap
Scenic Drives: Delaware Water Gap - Old Mine Road is one of the oldest Roads in America. One of the original trade routes. This is a road I traveled over the years over and over again, in the spring, fall, summer, and when passable, the winter. Off the road there is two major park systems with beautiful waterfalls, scenic mountain views, eagles, bears *(yep) and plenty of fowl for bird watching enthusiasts, Along the route we pass Walpack and Millville old towns, preserved, stuck in time in the New Jersey Wilderness.

Roebling Inn on the Delaware River
Pike County's only B&B on the Delaware River. All private baths, a/c, full breakfast, free wi-fi, and free domestic phone calls, cable tv with a dvd library, fishing the Delaware from our property.. Watching wildlife from our riverside chairs is popular and you can build a campfire there too.
You can walk to fishing the Lackawaxen River, a kayak rental/bait shop/deli/store/cafe, bank/ATM, post office, church, a park with basketball hoop and tennis court, a full service restaurant/bar with a riverfront deck (open 6 days).
It's a 5 min drive to another restaurant/bar with a riverfront deck plus a pizzeria and at least 3 more restaurants, all chef-owned/operated. And another little deli/market. A full market is 15 min drive.
Cell phones work 5 miles from us but not right here. The cottage has it's own phone line.
Swimming in the river off our bank is ok, not great. It's more like stand and let the river flow around you or swim into the current. River shoes are needed because the bottom is rocky. Our guests also have access to a gorgeous indoor pool/spa/steam room/gym that is 8 miles (15 mins drive) for $15/day. Midweek it's usually almost empty of other people.
All this and no traffic or crowds.
Upper Delaware River Walleye 9/30/16
I tried the upper Delaware River for walleye to see if I could get one or two for the table. Did I brave enough rain and sift through enough smallmouths to earn a fresh walleye dinner?
Amusement park
An amusement park (sometimes referred to as a funfair) or theme park is a group of entertainment attractions, rides, and other events in a location for the enjoyment of large numbers of people. Amusement parks have a fixed location, as opposed to travelling funfairs and traveling carnivals, and are more elaborate than simple city parks or playgrounds, usually providing attractions meant to cater specifically to certain age groups, as well as some that are aimed towards all ages. Theme parks, a specific type of amusement park, are usually much more intricately themed to a certain subject or group of subjects than normal amusement parks.
Amusement parks evolved from European fairs and pleasure gardens, which were created for people's recreation. World's fairs and expositions were another influence on the development of the amusement park industry.

Kayaking Washington's Crossing NJ/Delaware Loop
Taken May 21st, a 4 hour loop up the canal, originating at Washington's Crossing State Park. Portage over to the Delaware and back down to park. Modified loop from this description, about another half hour upstream past the third bridge:
Kayaking the Delaware River - Bushkill to Worthington
Day 5 - Bushkill Access to Worthington State Forest Campground. Cloudy skies and moderate temperatures and higher than normal water levels. The Green Team from ShopRite joined the Delaware River Sojourn and brought lots of cool sustainable swag for the paddlers. Wet conditions led to a landslide that blocked the main road into the campground. Alternate routes were arranged for the trip to Washington's Crossing State Park for Day 6. One of the best canoeing and kayaking trips in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania.
