Making of Navi Mumbai's First Bug Hotel in Urban Haat
Bug Hotel is a popular concept in US where interesting shelters are built to house insects. This is an outdoor structure which involves scrap items that provide nooks and crannies. Bugs, butterflies, beetles, grasshoppers, crickets, cockroaches may use this space for hibernation. Wasps and bees could make their solitary homes. We attempted to build one first time in Navi Mumbai. This short clip is about the same where corporate volunteers help in building bug hotels.

Mooralala Marwada - Kabir Festival 2018 - Urban Haat, Navi Mumbai
A short snippet of Mooralala Marwada and his team performing at the 8th edition of the Kabir Festival, Mumbai, organized by Sahej Foundation in association with Chetan Memorial Trust.
Date: 20th January, 2018
Venue: Urban Haat, CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai
Mooralalaji Marwada from Kutch, Gujarat belongs to a lineage of Meghwal singers, who migrated from Rajasthan to Kutch about 300 to 400 years ago. Now settled in the village of Khadeer in Kutch, Mooralala says he’s an 11th generation singer, and that his ‘santaar’ (tambura) must be at least 130 years old! When he first heard the sound of the tambura, he recalls that he was 8 years old, and he was so enchanted, he couldn’t sleep!. He moves with ease between nirguni bhajans, traditional folk songs and Sufiana kalaam.
Perhaps the most striking quality of Mooralalaji’s singing is an irrepressible and infectious joy. He has an endearing habit of bursting into song when the inspiration strikes, no matter where he is… on the street, in a bus, or on the phone!
