Uzhhorod (Ukraine)
Uzhhorod (Ukrainian: Ужгород) is a city located in western Ukraine, at the border with Slovakia and near the border with Hungary. It is the administrative center of Zakarpattia Oblast (region), as well as the administrative center of the surrounding Uzhhorod Raion (district) within the oblast. The city gets its name from the Uzh River, which divides the city into two parts. However, this name is a recent construct, and has been used only since the beginning of the 20th century. Before then, the city was known as Ungvár.

The city gets its name from the Uzh River, which divides the city into two parts (the old and new sections), while horod (город) is Rusyn for city, coming from Old Slavonic grad (градъ). However, this name is a recent construct, and has been used only since the beginning of the 20th century. Before then, the city was known as Ungvár, also spelled Ongvár, Hungvár, and Unguyvar, a name derived from Ung, the Hungarian name for the Uzh (as well as the surrounding county) and vár, meaning castle, fort.

Nevytsky Castle
Nevytsky Castle (Ukrainian: Невицький замок; Hungarian: Nevickei vár) is a semi-ruined castle in Zakarpattia Oblast, Ukraine 12 km north of Uzhhorod. It was founded in the early 15th century.
The castle, towering over the Uzh River, was the mighty citadel of the Drugeth family which supervised its continuous modernisation over the centuries. The keep, rebuilt in its present form in the early 16th century, passed from hand to hand during the internecine strife that convulsed Hungary in the early 17th century.
In 1644, Prince Rákóczi II ruined the castle, leaving it much as its stands today. A decline in defensive importance of the site as well as the remote and inaccessible situation of the castle have preserved it from complete demolition.

Підняття рівня води
На Закарпатті за останню добу через інтенсивні опади піднявся рівень води у річках на 10-60 см без виходів на заплави. У басейні річки Уж випало від 2 до 8 мм, а на окремих територіях – до 30 мм. Подекуди пройшов і град. В обласному гідрометеоцентрі прогнозують, що після 23 травня дощі послабшають. Температура повітря у найближчі дні дещо знизиться, до кінця тижня очікують 8-13 градусів уночі і 14-19 градусів удень.

1. В Ужгородський караоке бар прийшов чоловік з пістолетом. Налякані відвідувачі викликали поліцію.
2. Мукачівські патрульні зупинили непристебнутого курсанта з інструктором автошколи. Уроки водіння довелось надати ще й самому інструктору.
3. Неповнолітні студентки одного з навчальних закладів Мукачева пригостилися вином під час уроку фізкультури. Окрім батьків, до навчального закладу викликали ще й поліцію.
