GRIMENTZ: The most beautiful unknown village of SWITZERLAND - Val D'Anniviers / SAINT-LUC
One of the most underrated places in Switzerland: Val d’Anniviers with its beautiful villages GRIMENTZ and SAINT-LUC! This is the place to go if you want to see pristine alpine villages with NO tourists. Yet, this place remains rather secret; the best reason why you should explore it as soon as possible. The fact that this place is not much visited yet may also be related to its location that is far away from any major city or airport. From Zurich itself it is about a 5-6 hours drive and from Geneva roughly 4-5 hours. Thus, a visit to GRIMENTZ and SAINT-LUC should only be planned if you stay for a couple of days in Switzerland.
The best season to visit Grimentz and Saint-Luc would be during May to early September. It is recommended to explore Grimentz during the morning due to its exposition to the sun. Saint-Luc, which is quite higher up and on the other side of the valley is best to visit during the afternoon. A great hotel to stay at is “Le Grand Chalet Favre”, where you can experience a very authentic alpine Swiss atmosphere. The food served at its restaurant is very delicious. I highly recommend to dine on the balcony to watch the sunset, as you may enjoy a fantastic view from there. Also good to know is the Chalet Favre provides you free admission to the train heading up to the lookout point. It is good to stay up there for about 1 hour, the view is very beautiful, but the place also quite quickly explored.
All in all, it was a fantastic experience to visit the Val d’Anniviers with its picturesque villages of Grimentz and Saint-Luc. A place, I definitely want to revisit, possibly in winter for the next time!

Garde de Bordon, a very big pile of stones on top of Lac de Moiry, Val d'Anniviers, Valais, Switzerland. The view on the lake is amazing and with good weather, many major 4000m peaks can be seen closely.
Except in the steepest part, the trail is not very well defined, and a lot of lines are possible.

Le Valais, cette région naturelle implantée au cœur des Alpes est un nid à paysages. Sportifs, Aventuriers et Voyageurs, tous frôlent le territoire Valaisan en quête de découverte et d’adrénaline. Aujourd’hui c’est nous, une petite équipe de réalisateur qui se lance à la réalisation d’une mini-série sur le plus grand canton de Suisse. Cette production de type reportage de paysages a pour but de transporter le public dans une région qui mérite beaucoup plus de reconnaissance. L’entièreté de la série est réalisée à l’aide de drones, notre but est de faire voyager le monde entier à travers des paysages aériens soigneusement filmés. Chaque épisode est tourné dans des régions différentes du Valais pour ainsi permettre au visionneur de découvrir l’entièreté du valais !

Wunderland - Das Val d'Anniviers - Eine Reise durch die Schweiz [Doku HD]
Das schwer zugängliche Val d'Anniviers im Wallis ist geprägt von einer wilden Landschaft. Es zweigt bei Sierre gegen Süden vom Rhonetal ab und teilt sich im oberen Teil in zwei Seitentäler. Den Talabschluss bildet eine Bergkette namens Couronne impériale (Kaiserkrone) mit Weisshorn, Zinalrothorn, Obergabelhorn und Dent Blanche. Am Eingang des Tals liegt der Illgraben, der Grand Canyon der Schweiz, ein gewaltiger Felskessel.
