You can easily arrange to go on a boat ride to one of the neighbouring islands or sandbanks. The water is warm and the underwater sea life is exotic and beautiful. Go snorkelling, swim with dolphins or have a picnic on an island or sandbank in the middle of the ocean. The sunsets are gorgeous. Expect to be mesmerized by skies all colours of the rainbow. The mellow and laidback atmosphere can be felt on the untouched and secluded islands. The best time to walk around is after dinner in the evening as the sun is setting and the tide is coming in. Local residents young and old are always very curious about new visitors.

Mozambique - Quirimbas National Park - Bengo Octopus Closure
The Quirimbas National Park (QNP) is a protected area in the Cabo Delgado Province of Mozambique, encompassing the southern part of the Quirimbas Islands, as well as a significant mainland area. The mainland region of Taratibua contain various inselbergs.
The park protects 913,000 hectares (2,260,000 acres) of coastal forest, mangroves and coral reefs. The region was isolated for decades during the Mozambican Civil War. On land, there are sparse populations of elephants, lions, leopards, crocodiles and even wild dog. Habitats include mountains, forests, woodland, savannah, mangroves, beaches, coral reefs and sea grass beds. The park contains a rich variety of marine life including sea turtles, dolphins and many species of fish. Three hundred and seventy-five species of fish have been identified, including threatened pipefish and seahorses.
